Terribly Overrated

During my stay here I heard about Switzerland's first sake brewery.
Quite surprised about that I got the chance by some friends to taste a few of their produce that already got awarded.
Well, what shall I say: quite odd what people nowadays try to label as sake...even London sake tastes better and it's not made with water of high quality as available in Switzerland.

YamaSake

Amazing sake. Had a chance to try many types in both-Europe and Japan, and this is my favourite -by far!
Nice crispy and refreshing palette and a mouth coating finish.
Amazing

Still a long way to go

I'm an expat who loves Japanese food. This weekend I visited 'Japan Food Fest' in Zug. To my surprise some guys had a booth there with Swiss sake. I tasted their products but though the fact that they already received some award I was not really convinced of the quality. I think it's still a very long way to go for them...

Yamasake: poor quality

Recently I got the occasion to taste some sake by Yamasake at a Japanese restaurant.
Luckily, the glass we got offered was for free. The so-called sake was of terribly poor quality and no fun to drink. People who are inexperienced with real sake might think that sake has to taste like Yamasake. Take care: the real stuff is a completely different pair of shoes!
