How I lost £139.00 for a job I never wanted and for a job that was never done

I booked for a fix of my chipped front tooth with windsor. I got a booking over the phone for February 26th 2025 and I paid £79.00. Once there, I was told the fixing will be done the next time I come around and what they will do this time were xray and checkup. I was disappointed as all I wanted done was the fixing of my chipped tooth. The dentist booked me for March 6 for the filling, and March 22 for the hygienist (I thought bookings were handled by receptionists). I paid £60.00 for the filling on 6th of March. I left unhappy and shaking my head in disbelief as the job I imagined that I wanted done could have been done in 30-45 min but will still have to go back for it to be done.

On the 4th of March, I received a text message which read ‘Hi Norman, an earlier appointment on Thursday, 6th at 840am has become available. If this is convenient, please reply ‘book’ - Windsor Dental Practice.
This made me smile as my 1130am appointment is reset to 840am.

I replied by sending the word ‘book’.

After some time, windsor left me a voicemail saying that I now have 2 appointments on the same day, hygienist at 840, and dentist at 1130. This stressed me out as all I really wanted fixed was my chipped front tooth as it was budgeted. An extra job would require an extra pay. Talking about extra expenses before paying for the main event.

I rang them to make the corrections but the person on the phone chose not to listen to me and was insistent that I see the hygienist at 840 and the dentist at 1130. I made it clear to her, her name is Macie, that this is a mistake. They did not mention that the hygienist schedule on the 22nd is the one they were moving to 840 on the 6th of March. My logic told me it was the dentist appointment at 1130 that was being moved to 840. Because this person was not listening to me, I was getting frustrated and angry. I asked that the 840 be cancelled but was told that it is less than 24 hours so I will have to pay (money money money). I got angrier and demanded to speak to a supervisor. No supervisor spoke to me but the same person left me a voicemail saying they have cancelled my 840 with no charges. I felt better but still very angry. Is it a money-making procedure?

On the 6th of March, I did not go. I did not get my problem fixed, and I lost the money for the job I paid for. I just could not imagine being there again after what happened. I’d rather lose the money and make someone happy with it than to be worrying while being attended to.

I managed to find another dentist, more money lost but at least, though not how I wanted it to be, the job was done.

Very Disappointing

I tried to cancel and rearrange an appointment with Windsor Dental and a very unhelpful and unapologetic reception informed me that it was too short notice and that if I didn’t attend I would be struck of their practice list.

Simply The Best 🩷

I have been a patient with Windsor Dental Salford since the millennium. I have always been satisfied with the service I have received. Recently my lovely dentist, Scott, went private. I knew it was worthwhile to join his membership plan as he is so good natured, easy to talk to and has a gentle manner. Scott is kind, compassionate, and acts with integrity and benevolence. Scott is, without doubt, an outstanding reflection of the practice as a whole.

The Salford branch is a big joke.

The Salford branch is a big joke.
I have had a treatment back in November. I have payed the bill I have asked if that’s it nothing else? And they said no that’s it. Now after 3 months later they telling me I have an unpaid treatment outstanding. Never ever been in this situation I have always payed everything on the day and of course they have told me I’ve payed up everything. And now after 3 months ( I haven’t seen them since) I have an outstanding balance.
At the end I’ve just payed them and I never ever want to hear from them again.
Also the assistants behind the desk they think they are owners of the place. I never had the chance to ask for my transaction receipt because they just put the phone down on me. When I’ve tried to call them back they just didn’t answer the phone.

Very friendly staff (reception)

Very friendly staff (reception), apart from the dentists (Salford). They’re quite austere and ended up putting me off from going back. They’re never friendly. I stopped going just because of that.
