Wickes - Erith Reviews 

I RECEIVED A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FROM WICKES IN RESPONSE TO THIS REVIEW. I HAD 3 DAYS TO PROVIDE THE INFORMATION, WHICH I DID, ON DAY 1. FOUR DAYS LATER AND NO CONTACT WHATSOEVER AND ALL OUTSTANDING ISSUES REMAIN UNRESOLVED.

Paid to have Wickes design, supply and fit a new bathroom. Horrendous from the start. Wickes insisted on full payment in advance. We were expecting to pay half up front and the rest on completion but we were told they did not do that. This should not be allowed for such a costly order. Wickes had every penny up front and we are left trying to sort out all the mistakes.

Numerous mistakes were made in ordering parts. A chrome shower door was ordered when the rest of the cubicle was black, the wrong toilet flush button was ordered on two occasions, no cabinet handles were ordered whatsoever. A vanity unit was ordered that wasn't even part of our design, and we were charged over £800 for it. We had to make 2 visits to store and fight for a refund. We paid for a mirror advertised as having lights and a hands free sensor. The mirror has the lights and a touch button on the front, but there is no hands free sensor. It is clearly stated on the website that it has hands free - false advertising! There was no communication whatsoever between Wickes and the fitter, and we had to constantly act as go between to get matters resolved. Countless hours were spent with phone calls that were never returned, with us frequently having to present in person at the store to get any answers. On 4th April, some 7 weeks after the start of work, we resorted to completing the online complaint form. We received an acknowledgement stating we would be contacted within 48 hours. 5 days later and we have heard nothing.

Now nearly 8 weeks since the fit started, we are still missing one cupboard handle, we now have the correct toilet flush button but despite repeated requests, this has still not been fitted. A piece fell off the top of the shower door after less than a week of use and this has still not been fixed. We are still waiting for the incorrect shower door to be collected.
Absolutely horrendous experience from start to finish. We were planning on getting Wickes to design our en suite bathroom next but given this experience that will not be happening and I am advising friends and family to avoid Wickes at all costs.

I couldn't find some plants that I wanted to buy at the store in Erith. Amy was extremely helpful and brought the plants out for me. She even helped me put the three heavy bags of compost in my car boot as I was unable to do it myself. Thanks very much Amy 😊

Excellent customer service received from Sue at Erith store regarding using an e-gift card in store due to the online functionality not working. Thanks Sue!

Wanted a new bathroom for ages . Kept dithering about who to have thought we would try wickes .we are so glad we went to them Danny b who designed our bathroom couldn’t have done a better job it is just how I imagined it would be . He was so helpful . And guided us in the right direction . Scott and everyone we dealt with on the Co ordination team kept in touch with us all the time any problems were sorted out immediately . It was customer service at its best Which you don’t often get now days . Also our builders were excellent they worked hard and cleaned up after every visit . Excellent workman ship . I will definitely use wickes at Erith again .

Been looking for tiles for my bathroom for months. Couldn't believe how many shades of white there is not to mention sizes and styles. Nightmare. All i wanted was a shadde to match my wallpaper background. Been to all the big stores nothing. My husband said why don't you try Wickes which is local to us rather than travelling all over the place. Well, went to Wickes in Erith and OMG😊. Spoke to Debbie who worked there and she found exactly what i have been looking for. Perfect size, style and colour match. She then worked out how much i needed and suggested i buy a sample to try at home just to make sure. Took the sample home and it's perfect. I shall go there first thing in the morning and collect my new tiles. Oh and what was also great is that Wickes actually have the stock in store, so no having to wait. Cannot believe i didn't think of Wickes before. Funny how you never think to look somewhere that's practically on your doorstep. Thank you Debbie, you were brilliant 😊

On behalf of our nursery, we were very grateful and pleased with the community programme that Wickes provides. It is a fantastic programme and their generosity has helped develop our garden area for a sensory and water wall.

Had a great visit to this store last week. Went in looking for some paint as we’re just moved into a new property and the helpful staff members not only helped us to find the paint but also assisted us with lots of information about the kitchen fitting services they supply, which was great as this is something we’ll be wanting to do in a few months. Great all round👍🏻

I came to this store last week to buy some supplies to decorate my house. I wasn’t sure what exactly I needed so I asked a member of the team and they was extremely helpful and guided me through. They also showed me where everything was and massively helped me. I had a great experience at this wickes store and definitely would be coming back to buy more supplies when needed. Thank you so much to all the helpful staff - all so helpful and lovely😊

I had a design appointment with a guy in Erith branch and it is one of the worst and boring design appointment I ever had, The guy was not even knowledgeable with the tool they are using. he did not even ask me what sizes I need when I mentioned about appliances or sink. Just waste of time.

Having another positive experience within this store for second time, I think Amy was name and very very helpful with finding new kitchen for me and my family. Thanks you again Wickes

Always receive great customer service at this store each time I visit, keep up the great work

I booked two appointments with Wickes. For the first one, they said there was a system error that cancelled my appointment, which is why no one showed up. I rebooked another appointment, but the designer never turned up. I waited for an hour and called customer service. They claimed the designer had knocked but no one answered, even though I was at home. This was very disappointing and wasted two sessions, delaying our project by two weeks.

Wickes Erith gave our Men in Sheds community project a product donation of soil and wood bark chippings to finish our new garden area off. We are very grateful to the Wickes Erith team for the support and the much needed help in loading our cars! Thank you!

Avoid getting any kitchens here especially if using designer Danny B.
They measure incorrectly and deliver incorrect items. When you try to rectify issue's, it seems customer service is something that doesn't seem to be in Wickes capability. Stick with Howdens or Benchmark.
