booked a overnight spa package

booked a overnight spa package, I paid for a bag of products for my wife as it was her 50th birthday, this was never given to her, I ordered a bottle of prosecco with the package to be left in our room.
this was stolen from our room by the housekeeping staff (hotel staff checked CCTV) we went down to reception and we were told another bottle would be sent up and this never arrived. we were asked to arrive for 9.30am and was told our room would not be ready until 4pm which was way too long so had to sit in the bar for 2 hours!! as they wouldn't give the room any earlier. In the morning when we got up someone had slipped an invoice for £75 for stuff we didn't even have!! The spa itself was good, lunch was ok if you didn't like seafood you didn't have much choice just a cold buffet. Dinner was amazing. I don't think I would stay here again maybe come for a day spa

Excellent place to stay

Excellent place to stay. Large clean and tidy rooms with king-sized bed. Food was of a superior standard with different daily menu choices. ALL staff very polite and helpful, any issues sorted out immediately by reception (someone mistakenly charged a drink to our room). Would highly recommend a visit.

Decent Spacation

Decent Spacation. Upgraded to Club Room, but rooms are a bit on the smaller side. The Day Spa is good, but the sauna was just too hot that no one was using it. And the steam rooms were also too hot to sit and had no steam. Tried their Leisure club which was also included and has a steam room and sauna and it was 10 times better. Plenty of steam, hot sauna & a cool pool. Spent most of our day there instead of the Day Spa. The Day Spa is good fun though with friends, but we preferred the sauna/steam room and pool at the leisure club more.

I took a friend to an afternoon tea for…

I took a friend to an afternoon tea for her birthday. On arrival we had to wait 20 minutes (and 2 remainders) before anyone came to take us to our table. We placed our order for tea after having to ask what was available.
We then notice that the table had no cloth, mugs instead of cups, no saucers, no lemon, no milk or no sugar!
It felt as if we were in Joe's cafe! It was awful. I complained to the young man who had brought the pots of tea. He just muttered that he'd get some saucers and sugar. We again waited for about 15 minutes. I then went out to reception to complain. I was met by Craig Oakes who said he would fix the problems and that we should try and relax as he would sort it all out. We had to wait another 20 minutes for this but he did sort out the issues. He laid a whole new table with cloth and all the usual things expected. He also gave us a bottle of champagne and told us he would refund the cost of the 2 afternoon teas. I am still waiting for the refund but he did sort out the terrible beginning of the afternoon. We got our afternoon tea, an hour late and a lot of hassle to begin with, but it was good in the end.

Wouldn’t waste your money

Whittlebury spa is a place I have visited a few times now and we have had a really good experience previously.. yet this time wasn’t a good experience at all .. firstly they never sent out our itinerary I had to phone and chase it up the day before ! And by that time the spa was closed, then we arrived we had a bad day from start to finish and considering it cost £338 for both of us it’s not exactly cheap !and we left 2hours early. My treatment was rough and was meant to be a 50min treatment It only took 30mins ! I had a dodgy locker and was given a HAND towel not a proper bath towel, there was tampon wrappers on the toilet floor ALL day ! It was loud and unrelaxing overall can honestly say I will not be going back.I emailed and complained and heard NOTHING back .. wouldn’t waste your money

Customer service cafe area

Lovely place .I have just visited with my friend for a Time out Spa package .Everything was lovely and the lady who I had my treatment with was excellent .The only part which I would say let our stay down was the cafe bar . My friend and I went to the bar to order a cream tea .The member of staff had their back to the bar as she was doing something .We stood at the bar for at least 20mins with no acknowledgement from anyone working in the area it wasn’t until a man who wasn’t in uniform but standing on our side of the bar asked if we needed any help then at this point a lady did ask us what we wanted but she was unsure what to do but did find someone to help us
Whittlebury Hall you need to ensure that all members of your teams are aware about giving good service as this area defiantly needs some training even if people are busy it is important to acknowledge a customer who is waiting and not just ignore them .Real shame as for me that’s what I will remember about my visit first ,when everything else was lovely

Avoid this place! You will be more stressed afterwards than when you arrived.

This place has gone down hill so much. I was mis sold treatments and when I complained I was told you got what you paid for. The staff are so rude. The air-conditioning was put on half way through my treatment without being asked making it very cold and unpleasant. At no point have the staff been bothered about my complaints. Avoid this place! More stressed leaving than when I arrived.

I just wanted to say what a wonderful…

I just wanted to say what a wonderful time my friend and I had during our Time Out spa stay.
It was very well organised with wonderfully friendly and professional staff. The facilities are excellent and incredibly clean, with a relaxing ambiance.
The food was wonderful and we had a lovely stay.
After a difficult time with a number of bereavements, we felt recharged and revitalised when we left.
Overall all incredible value for money and will definitely return.

Still no refund

So after posting my review 2 days ago and contacting direct via email. I got a response from the Commercial Director pretty much informing me that career wise I am not who I say I am!!!! So very very professional indeed.
This was followed by informing me that apparently I had received a full refund!!!!
If that’s the case why would I be even bothering. So I offered to evidence what had been refunded to me which was £20 out of £178. Hardly a full refund....
surprise surprise no reply....
Are you going to keep my money Whittlebury Hall? If that how business is now conducted?

Leave well alone.

One star too many. Service was dreadful in all area especially in the hotel and restaurant. Treatments were not to a very good standard.Food in the restaurant was disgusting and inedible. No apologies when complained just treated with contempt. Cost £258 for the experience- Won't bother with this place again.

Avoid this place at all costs

Absolute Shambles. Had booked an overnight stay to include the spa. On Arrival was told they had no record of my wife’s reservation. Was just left for 50 mins while they tried to sort it out. No apology, no update or show of concern, just put to one side. When eventually they came back to us the start time of our spar treatment had already passed and again with no apology they tried to rush us up to the treatment although we were not prepared. This was totally not acceptable, we were so stressed and annoyed for being ignored for 50 mins any chance of a relaxing day/stay had now gone.

No sympathy was given by any of the staff. Eventually they agreed to us having a refund but we’re adamant that nothing else would be given as compensation, they acted as though they had done nothing wrong. To finish it all off we had to recover our own luggage, it was not even collected for us.

Spent an hour and a half at this place and believe me that was an hour an a half too long. It was interesting though hearing so many negative comments from other customers while waiting in the reception area. Has to be the worst customer service experience I have ever received.

I would welcome a conversation and further explanation from the Hotel Manager.

Absolutely repulsive .. don't waste your money

One star too many. Absolutely disgusting place and miserable staff. The level of education, social skills, manners and decency amongst managers is insulting to everyone who comes across them. Working on the farm all my life and having no experience on management position, I'd still beat all of them to the ground if I were a manager there. They will treat you like rubbish even if you've paid a lot of money for your stay. No organisation exists in that place and you will surely regret your choice if you've planned on staying there. My advice: DON'T. People in that place are horrible, and their behaviour disgustingly rude and repulsive. I'm still in shock. Don't waste your money.

Spa weekend staying in club room.

Stayed for two nights (June 2019)

I booked a spa weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, however this is far too over priced. The rooms are a bit dated and bath/shower (club room) does need more modernisation, I.e a better shower and usb charging ports by the bedside tables. The spa its self was enjoyable, however I feel they do over subscribe and wasn’t able to use the jacuzzi enough (especially as one was out of use) and was a busy around the pool with lounges.

The pool is an ok size but feel it could be bigger. The sauna and steam rooms were good and did the trick. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly and helpful. I would only say i felt it was overpriced for what I paid for. But all in all, was a good relaxing visit

Birthday Surprise

Had a weekend Birthday surprise for 19/1. The last time I stayed at Whittleburyhall was over 10 years ago and another very pleasant stay had.The main difference was having a table book in the Murray's Restaurant. This was the perfect setting away from the main restaurant in Ashton's. The service, food, ambience I would certainly give 10/10, it's was simply perfect and well recommended, the food presentation and flavours was outstanding certainly loved getting a room call earlier to sample some canapes which were absolutely delicious. The staff in every area of the spa and hotel we visited were charming as well as the treatments we have. A very welcomed stay had and would certainly recommend a visit to simply chill out or celebrate. I shall certainly be returning a lot sooner this time.

Staff are the issue at very nice hotel

We stayed at Whittleburyhall over the weekend for a family function.

Firstly, the hotel is beautiful including the grounds and function rooms.

However that's where the positive part review ends, mainly relating to staff or organisation in general was severely lacking.

The first day we decided to have a light lunch in the Silverstone Room. We looked at the menu on the table , we had ordered the mature cheese and tomato sandwich and a club panini at this point I was not told I was ordering from an old menu, else we would have ordered differently. After being told the food had a little extra to wait, we said ok but getting a little hungry. However when the food arrived we got different things to our order, namely a cream cheese salad sandwich. I went to the bar and explained my issue....all the response was it was an old menu and there was nothing more they could do. Not an ideal response but as we were hungry we ate it. It was also missing one of the sides stated on the actual menu.

In the evening we attended a family function, the decor, room and facilities were great. However the bar, for a 200 person event for most of the time just 1 person was serving on the bar, but also 4 waiters were just stood in a line in the main function room, multiskilled staff would have been a great idea.

One star too many

I’m so disappointed with so many aspects of today. Firstly, when we got to the spa there was no warm welcome. The lady took a few minutes before even acknowledging us and acted like she didn’t see us even though she had. She was miserable, as were most of the staff at Whittlebury Hall. She then just handed over some forms & then told us where the changing rooms were. There were no robes or towels in any of the unused lockers. When I went back out she said they’re in there. I went back in & they weren’t. I then came back out & another lady gave us some.

We then had to wait for a few more people before getting a tour. I felt like the rooms could have been explained in a bit of detail especially as we’d never been before.

I advised of my dietary requirements over the phone when making the booking, but there was nothing that I could have. The waiter then spoke to the chef who then made us risotto but really this should have been arranged beforehand rather than us waiting. Also, we weren’t made aware of the tab system so it was embarrassing when I was getting a drink at the bar. Really the spa receptionist should have made a point of explaining that.

We were also looking to upgrade our treatments. Again, the lady on the treatment reception downstairs was so rude & just told us to read the leaflet. She then went to find a full price brochure & then said she didn’t have one. We then thought we’d go upstairs to find out more, they were no more help. Instead we were just told the kind of facial we wanted wasn’t suitable for our skin type & no alternative was offered. She was trying to put us off from the outset.

The showers are ridiculous & turn off every few seconds.

The salt steam room wasn’t working & many lockers were out of order.

Overall, a really poor spa & a really poor experience.

Having last been at Whittlebury Hall…

Having last been at Whittlebury Hall about 12 years ago, I can honestly say it is even better than before. I had a spa stay with a friend and we had an excellent time; the facilities are brilliant, the treatments were amazing and the food was perfect.

It was busy, but I expected that at a weekend and we had no problem getting into any of the saunas and jacuzzis etc...

Staff were genuinely friendly and nice; there was no sense of getting stressed under all the pressure of the people arriving.

It isn't cheap but it was worth the money.

Christmas Deal - Whittlebury Hall Spa Hotel.

Just returned from our second visit, this time we spent four days over the Christmas period. Could not praise the staff and hotel enough. They pulled out all the stops and made our stu fantastic. We had our one year old with us which was challenging at times but the staff assisted where they could and were brilliant with her. The facilities in the hotel are brilliant, didn’t get to use the heat and ice but the pool area is nice and clean and the golf courses excellent. Highly recommended.
