Whirlpool - 3 weeks and still no dishwasher repair - appalling

Whirlpool are meant to be repairing our dishwasher (under an insurance plan via D&G). It is now 3 weeks since the machine broke. Whirlpool have failed to attend when agreed - failed to enable a new booking - failed to repair the machine. And despite many hours clicking their text links and trying to get it resolved and ringing the various helplines - still nothing. They have acted appallingly - I would not use them again.

Total lack of response from Customer…

Total lack of response from Customer service to my delivery issues. Ordered American fridge freezer direct from Whirlpool,fr
Delivery company sent 2 people who refused delivery as too heavy so delivery rearranged to have 4 people
Second delivery sent 2 people who refused delivery and wanted to take appliance back. Eventually I and a neighbour helped and appliance was dumped in our lounge. Initially refused to take old appliance away but neighbour and I helped load it. I paid extra for delivery and have written 3 letters to directors but no reply.

This is my first whirlpool product as…

I would prefer give no stars but not an option. This is my first whirlpool product as usually stick to good branded names Electrolux zanassi etc built in freezer manufactured 11|2022 and bottom half not freezing have it less than 3 years. I will also tell everyone I meet not to ever buy whirlpool as worked in the industry many years so sorry whirlpool you will be losing alot of custom bad news travels fast. Wanted to charge 140 for call out and parts on top of that. I just won't ever buy a whirlpool product again.

I would prefer to give zero

I would prefer to give zero! All I want is a replacement detergent drawer. I’ve been trying for 8 weeks. I’ve been called to confirm what I wanted and that an engineer was not required but received nothing. I’ve tried calling back and phone lines are either not on or no one answers. I’ve had 2 deliveries of 3 different drawers and not 1 of them is complete. How hard can it be? Now I have to have an engineer come out to tell me my detergent drawer is broken and hopefully replace it. What a complete waste of everyone’s time and resources. Useless

My Whirlpool WDT730HAMZ dishwasher…

My Whirlpool WDT730HAMZ dishwasher failed only 14 months after installation, just outside the standard warranty.

Whirlpool refused any courtesy repair or assistance and quoted $369 for repair, which is more than half the price of a new unit. A major appliance should last years, not barely one.

Extremely disappointed in product quality and customer service. I expected Whirlpool to stand behind its products, but instead, I was left with an expensive repair or the cost of replacement.

If you are considering this model, be cautious—it may not last as long as expected and post‑warranty support is minimal.

Your Whirpool engineer was like a Whirlwind

Your engineer Mark Came as promised and at the right time ! He was friendly efficient and quick and had our oven working again in minutes as he had the part in his van ! I was using my oven to cook dinner tonight ! Well done Whirlpool and well done Mark ! Very satisfied indeed

Our Indesit cooker developed a problem

Our Indesit cooker developed a problem, we phoned our insurance company, and they told us we'd hear from Whirlpool in a day or two, that afternoon, we got a call from Whirlpool Service, they told us the engineer would be with us within the week, the next day, we got a call telling us the engineer would call Monday morning 07/07/25, the engineer turned up on the agreed time, from the start, he was friendly and courteous, and told us everything he would be doing, he even found a fault we knew nothing about, and once he started stripping down the area of the cooker he needed to work on, he told us he would be 40 minutes, sure enough, on 40 minutes, he pushed the cooker back into it's spot, the engineer cleared up after himself, he even asked if he could use our rubbish bin, and after making sure everything was working alright, he then left, all in all, we are so happy with Whirlpool, especially if this engineer is a true representation of the Company, we would like to pass our sincere Thank You to the Whirlpool Engineer, for your very good and kind customer care

Incompetence

So far I am completely disgusted by the level of professionalism of the warranty service. First I was wrongly informed about the first repair date, then I had to wait a week to find out that the incompetent service did not have parts for my washing machine, and they forgot to inform me about it. I feel as if all this was managed by people who just finished primary school. Crew is only good as management is, so I would start to review competency of this people.

I have been challenging the false…

I have been challenging the false report that no fault was found, which resulted in a £70 charge. They will direct you to a Whatsapp number that, unfortunately, does nothing to help, including their live chat link. They signpost you in circles, and after a long, aimless race, you become tired. The Whirlpool 03448937383 number is a fraudulent line. Hotpoint, Beko, and Whirlpool are all in the same boat of extorting customers with the @no' fault found' call-out fee. BEWARE and BE WARNED... Stay far away from their products. I have proof of chats, call logs, and live chats that hopelessly pushed me back to the same Whirlpool. A callback was requested on the 2nd of April. The Delayed Response Team via WhatsApp claimed it should be between 24 and 48 working hours. Today is the 8th of April- no call. The CEO, directors, and managers should be ashamed to continue allowing these disheartening services by turning a blind eye.

My new hob is making a weird noise

My new hob is making a weird noise. I had the technician come out who reported that it is normal. It’s clearly not normal. But because he claims there is no fault, I am now liable for the £70 call out fee. The fees are extortionate.

So heres s a review about a driver using his phone, in Durham, going too fast, screeching to a halt 6 inch from a car that had stopped in front... hotpoint said, not our problem.

The driver, a young lad, was on his phone, had no idea he was about to crash

I purchased a brand new hotpoint…

I purchased a brand new hotpoint machine this morning and it is faulty. I spoke to 2 members of the supposed Customer Service Team. The first one basically told me off for not insuring the machine. I only bought it today….. The second one said it was clearly an installation problem. I know have paid just short of £600 for a machine that doesn’t work. I am a unable to speak to a Manager as apparently they don’t speak to customers. Not entitled to a refund. Offered a live chat, so I clicked on the link and the message said my session has ended. All in less than 30 seconds. Absolute disgrace. AVOID Whirlpool Uk at all costs.

WhatsApp number no resolution

My washing machine is still faulty, and the complaint process has been incredibly frustrating. When you try to make a complaint, you're directed to a WhatsApp mobile number, which feels like a decoy. When you call, you're constantly bounced back and forth between advisors who offer no real resolution. They even accused me of lying about an engineer visit, despite me explaining that my property has a camera system as proof.

At one point, they offered a £20 voucher, only for the WhatsApp advisor to later say no voucher would be given. I was then asked to provide all the times and dates I had called—an unnecessary hassle. Their customer service is rude, unprofessional, and completely incompetent. They just keep replying with the same message, asking me to call the WhatsApp number again, with no resolution. This system is unacceptable and should not be allowed.

What a pointless service company

What a pointless service company. I’ve had an issue with my Fridge for 4/5 months. Been ringing constantly for appointments and every time an engineer is meant to come out to me I get the ‘we have to reschedule because your part hasn’t arrived’ when it’s been the same problem every time I’ve been booked an appointment. Rude staff over the phone. Don’t give no help and a few of them have hung up the phone on me. Best advice to anyone - don’t bother using this company!
I’ve lost out on so much money and not once have they offered to reeimburce me or help out for the lost on food/drinks/milk! Paying a company to basically keep it and not help when there’s a problem!

Contacting company is awful experience

We bought an Indesit condenser tumble dryer in January 22. It has just stopped working, there’s no heat to dry the washing. I rang the telephone number online. I chose an option to speak to a representative as I just wanted to know their call out fees etc first. I got a recorded message telling me no one was available and to try another time, then I was cut off. Great! Tried WhatsApp, this option is useless as well. You’re conversing with a bot not a person. You have to give all your personal details to get an answer that just says an engineer is required, do you want to book? I said no thanks, it said ‘do you want me to put you through to a representative? I said yes, nothing happened. About an hour later, I got another message asking me all my details again, for a call back. I’m lucky, I’m at home all day, what the heck you do if you’re at work is anyone’s guess. Finally, I saw a freephone number on the front of the machine. The dryer comes with a 10 year parts warranty as long as I’d registered (I hadn’t) otherwise a receipt is required. Luckily I had that. I got through to a representative finally. I’ve got to say he had an extremely bad attitude, he was what I would consider condescending and quite rude. After giving my details for a third time I was told that an engineer could call and there’s 2 options. Pay £147 there and then and their engineer will call and repair anything for that price. If the machine is beyond repair, they keep £70 of the £147 and the balance is refunded back to you. (No mention of how you get this back, should that happen). A replacement appliance will then be offered at a ‘competitive price’. Any repair is guaranteed for 90 days. The other option, which the operator got quite snappy about, because I wouldn’t have it, was to sign up for a warranty at £11.99 on DD for 12 months, but it was up to me to cancel after that period, it wasn’t just for 12 months. They clearly want you to go for this, for obvious reasons. He was probably on commission for selling it and he got nothing from me. After that, he was quite arrogant. The appointment was booked, I was asked if I had any questions, I said no, without any good bye, I was hung up on. Clearly, the name of the game here is to sell extended warranties, these are very lucrative and usually not worth the paper they’re written on. Don’t fall for it. Just pay for the one off repair, the only people benefiting from extended warranties is the company selling them.
Waiting now for the engineer to arrive in 6 days time. The general slot is 7.00am to 8pm with a text the night before to give a more appropriate time of day. Later that evening, I received a link to take a photo, using my phone, of the machine barcode. At first I thought it meant the back plate with the model no. Tried that, just kept scanning, I gave up. At about 9pm at night I got a reminder to do it. Tried again, same scenario. Getting a bit frustrated by now, I eventually worked out it was a barcode on the back of the machine. Once this was done, I received a receipted invoice. Now, not everyone has a smart phone or is capable of carrying this out. What happens then, who knows? Telephone operator never told me to expect this, either. After this, things progressed as promised. I received about 4 texts in total about the engineer visit. I was given a time slot within 2 hours of arrival, the night before and then another to say he’d be with us within 30 mins. For my £147 he replaced the heater and pump. He was a trainee, very young, being watched over by his step dad. The step dad gave us some useful advice about our washing machine and the dryer, whilst we were waiting. He did try to sell us some tablets to clean our washing machine, but I politely declined. So it’s a tale of two halves really. The initial contact with Whirlpool/Hotpoint/Indesit, whoever they call themselves (all 3 by the looks of it) was awful, but the engineer, was great. I’ve given one star for the ‘customer service’ I received initially, but not relating to the repair man. The supposed help comments after some reviews are really no help at all, they’re just putting you back to the same experience you received previously. There’s lots of comments on here about rude staff, that was my experience too. DO SOME STAFF TRAINING it’s badly needed! Next time we need a new appliance, this experience will be taken into consideration I’m afraid. It’s the only way companies like these will take notice. Vote with your feet!
It’s the evening of the repair and I’ve just received a text and an email to do a survey about my experience. What a laugh! The link in the email takes you to a survey in a foreign language it says: ‘Indagine sulla Soddisfazione dei Clienti Indesit Survey già inviata’ (no, me neither) and the link in the text takes you to a survey you can complete, but won’t let you submit. Says it all really, diabolical.

Very poor customer service.
Engineer booked to repair my appliance for 19 Dec between 7:15 and 1pm. just 15 hours before WHIRLPOOL rescheduled appointment without discussing with me for 24 Dec from 7:15 to 6pm. This is shameful. I booked a day off for 19th Dec which is wasted now and again a day before XMAS, I have wait for Engineer whole day.

Unable to direct me to the right…

Unable to direct me to the right department for a failed dehumidifier warranty query. They put me through to kitchen appliances who were not able to help. Please escalate.

I tried both chat options you suggest. Basically, you need to tell your call centre staff on where to point clients with this specific question.
