Absolutely ridiculous process for applying a credit card
Absolutely ridiculous process for applying a credit card. I have provided all the documents and still receives eamils asking me to upload documents. Have to call them many times to explain and apparently due to their internal IT system error, one of the documents had account ID removed. They had to contact IT department to fix it and after weeks no response.
Don't bother Westpac, I will get my credit card else where!

Contracted me on 6 April 2025 , say some some used by card by card Aust (me). From my account while oz (Me), Froze my account !. Told me to come back to Aud and they wold revolved !( Lied) gave me 3K or of 15K ( under investigation 3 more weeks !).

Customer service is a myth at Westpac, they don't answer your calls. Now they don't do currency exchange any more, everything is designed to freeze us out of any physical transactions. I don't know why I am still a customer after all these years, they certainly don't care about me
Westpac Shameful Act 25+ year Customer
If I could give negative stars I would - over 25 years banking with Westpac multiple loans never missed a payment even through Covid. Last year my wife just by pure accident failed to make payment on a loan that we had over 100K in its offset and Westpac for that error gave us a bad Credit rating ! and will no reverse it. So wrong pure pure evil the effect thats had on my Small Business is enormous and to not even contact us personally, I will never forget this Westpac!
Disappointed with Westpac home loan finance.
Me and my husband filled up an online form for Westpac home loan finance. Received a call promptly the next day from Dinesh Khadka the loan manager. Very friendly and professional, helped us through getting our first home loan financed. Everything went smoothly, Dinesh assured us that everything will be allright and we would now get our pre-approval promptly as we were interested in bidding for this house we were very interested in. However, did not hear back from Dinesh. We rang him everyday but the calls were unanswered. This went on for a week. We would’ve appreciated if he had responded and told us if pre-approval was not ready or there were problems. However did not hear back from him at all. We were left with disappointment and confusion. We were not able to bid for the house we wanted to.
WORST BANK SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!
Worst experience ever! After I cancelled direct debit, funds still came out of my account. I contacted them 2 weeks prior and was ENSURED funds would not come out and cancellation was in place. Staff have no clue. Raised complaint, still Westpac for Westpac. I will never bank with you again. I will never speak highly of westpac ever!
I am making a warning - Westpac Bank closing an offset account and restricitng functionality of a mortgage
I am making a warning - the bank can close accounts and restrict services without your consent and rebuff inquiries. Even when you refer the matter to AFCA the bank will remain firm in not giving answers. The organisation has poor internal communicaton when you are dealing with fall out. The Westpac Contract has this little clause 'exercise our discretion' to close an account or withdrawel services. Essentially what you think you have signed with the bank is meaningless as they can at their descretion change their terms, close accounts and restrict functionality of loans. And according to AFCA they are under no obligation to explain way. Westpac use this to hide behind to avoid transperancy and accountability.

Westpac is a bully bank. I have been a customer of Westpac for more than 15 years. on Friday Westpac suddenly block my account without any notification. The reason of blocking account is ask for re-identification.
1. I did re-identification straight away on Friday, but it takes Westpac 1 extra working day to process it. and they are not process it in the Weekend. so I can not pay for anything in the whole weekdend!
2. Westpac did not give any notice before blocking my account for asking re-identification. It is typically a bully bank - block your account first, then ask you question later.
3. I have been providing my identification to Westpac since 15 years ago when I chose to be a westpac customer. Westpac's poor data management does not able to check their own data.
4. it is a bully, block my account on Friday and I provided re-identification on the same day,but Westpac takes one extra working day to process it. The Westpac online assisitant who works in the weekend told me to wait for their "Know Your Customer" team to lift the block on Monday. They don't care about you couldn't pay for food during the weekend.
If you like to be bullied, choose Westpac!

Customer with westpac for 25 years. They offer a horrible lack of service for overseas customers. Constantly locking me out of their app and there is no online way to get back in. I can't contact the westpac bank in any possible way when I get kicked out of the app. I have to spend my money paying for an international call. No chat feature, no email, no care for customers whatsoever. As shown by this meaningless information that has been automatically sent to me.

Terrible customer service experience. It's almost impossible to speak to someone without downloading an app. The staff can't do anything but read from canned messages on screen, and ironically I had to go into a physical branch to set up online banking.

Do not use for banking while overseas-agonising incompetence and waits
In London. Payment blocked, then online account access revoked. Finally thru to someone in Oz who knew what she was doing..it only took 40 mins waiting and 2 earlier unsuccessful attempts via Fraud, (who promised all fixed when not done), and someone who was trying to get me to use their app instead of bothering her. This is on their overseas banking line ! God knows what they'd do if I was local. INSTEAD, a warning -if you're thinking of opening an account with Westpac that you'll need to operate from overseas, just don't. That's this month's international minutes are eaten up. This isnt the first time Ive been through this same scenario either.
