We ordered a small cheese cake for my dad’s 80th birthday. The cheese was delicious and enjoyed by all the family.
We had a problem with dhl who delivered the cheese. When I contacted the Welsh cheese company directly they couldn’t have been more helpful and ultimately sent me out the order again in case the first order didn’t arrive in time for my dad’s party. I would 100% recommend for quality of cheese and customer service

Good but not impressive
These cheeses are sold as artisanal. I’m sure they are. But, they are sold at 2 to 4 times the price of a similar French or Dutch cheese and lack the finesse of a quality import.

Thanks very much for your order, and for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry that you feel like our Welsh cheeses are more expensive than similar imported French or Dutch cheeses. I'm afraid to say that I disagree - I don't think you're comparing like with like.
The cheese that we sell are, as you say, artisanal. The majority of the cheesemakers that we work with are very small scale, making exceptional quality hand-crafted cheeses. These are often one-person operations making cheese on their own farm or small-holding.
The French or Dutch imported cheeses that you mention are by definition a completely different scale and type of cheese-making. To be operating on a scale where international export is possible, these cheeses will be made by much larger businesses, with the economies of scale that come with that. I'm not saying they're not making good cheese - it's just that it's a completely different scale and type of business.
We champion excellent cheeses that are made here in Wales by small scale producers. We pay them a good rate for their cheeses and we send them direct to your door, rather than selling them through supermarkets.
There's certainly a place for great French and Dutch imported cheeses too, but that's not we specialise in. It wouldn't be possible for our local micro-dairies to produce their fantastic cheeses at the same costs as large companies who export mass-produced cheeses all round the world, and we wouldn't expect them to.
I also think that we have some world-class cheeses that can easily hold their own against any French or Dutch imports. Hafod Cheddar, Brefu Bach, Sinodun Hill, Abaty Glas, Thelma Caerffili, Saval, Trefaldwyn Blue... I could go on. If you're based in the South Wales area please let me know if you're in a position to pop down to one of our shops at some point, and I'll be very happy to give you some samples of all of the above and to tell you why we're so passionate about promoting and selling these exceptional cheeses.
