I needed to simply change my phone number in their system so the automated system could send me a code. Sounds easy right. 2 hours and still over the heads of customer service. May be a language issue. I just give up. i guess it is not possible.

Don't EVER trust the Wells Fargo…

Don't EVER recommend or trust the Wells Fargo visa credit card. They charged me almost $1500+ on a loan of $2000. I paid the ENTIRE bill every month in the 18 months in my bill pay, so I can prove it was paid. I took this clear up to the Executive Committee, who said some of the payments were 1-2 days late., so there are penalties. They have ruined my perfect credit rating, forcing me to try to figure out how to finance a house here. Can't tell you how disgusted I am! NEVER trust Wells Fargo! .

My husband and I had a Wells Fargo "home project retail" credit card. We paid a plumbing bill of $2000 with this card because they advertised an interest-free term of 18 months.

I took out this loan in early 2024 and paid the entire $2000 by December 2025 within the 18-month period, as required. I have a record of every payment as I made the payments in bill pay. I thought I was done with the full payment, but Wells Fargo has tacked on fees and interest of nearly $1500.

They also ruined my great credit score by saying that I was paying late, even when the amount was in dispute. Because of this hit on my credit, we were not able to finance a recent house purchase.

My husband is a 100% disabled veteran with a chronic illness. While we still have a place in Nebraska, we came to the Naval Air Station, Pensacola, so that he could receive medical care here.

Because hotels were so expensive, we were living in a camper after we left Nebraska so the billing statements from Wells Fargo never caught up with us. By the time I found out they were still charging us, my credit score had dropped 150 points, solely due to Wells Fargo. I have always paid my bills and I resent Wells Fargo not even considering our health situation or the fact that we never received their bills. They even keep charging us interest while the dispute was ongoing.

Although it will be a hardship, I will pay off Wells Fargo, as I need to stop the financial hemorrhaging and prevent my credit scores dropping even further. They have been totally unwilling to understand that a $1500 fee on a $2000 loan that was paid in full is obscene.

I hope someone will assist our family with this issue. Again, Wells Fargo has been totally unyielding. I appealed to the Executive Committee and they keep saying it is all in the fine print.

We very much appreciate any assistance or advice anyone can offer.

Sincerely
Jean

Awesome Service!

As a 20 year veteran in banking, I was blown away by the service of Wells Fargo. We visited the Wells Fargo branch in Davenport and we were absolutely WOWED by their service. We had the pleasure of being served by Jose and to put it simply his service was extraordinarily remarkable. The guy is a keen listener, knowledgeable and solution-oriented. He, the manager of the branch, who by the way came over and introduced himself were just awesome. I can tell that this particular branch the service standard is high and that each person who greeted us with a smile understands the meeting of great customer service in retaining customers. Please know that Jose is a rare talent and an asset.

This bank is a freaking joke

This bank is a freaking joke. I'd like to advise anyone never to do business with them. They seem great in the beginning but I promise you it only turns into how to take your money and make things inconvenient. I regret ever starting an account with them.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Wells Fargo. A large transaction was processed through an unfamiliar company without my authorization, despite clear indicators that it was suspicious. I immediately reported the issue, yet my claim was denied and I was informed that no further investigation would be conducted.

This response demonstrates a serious lack of accountability and inadequate fraud protection. I expected my bank to take unauthorized transactions seriously and conduct a thorough review, not dismiss the claim without meaningful investigation.

Based on this experience, I do not feel confident in Wells Fargo’s ability to properly protect customer accounts or handle fraud disputes responsibly.

I have been with Wells Fargo for along time. Had a couple of issues, but they fixed immediately. My accounts just got emptied out and they are declining all the claims I put in. One claim just disappeared all together. No investigation or nothing. WTF... If this is how they treat a long time customer, how are they in general. I just had my boss sign up the company to Wells Fargo. Tomorrow I'm going to him and say I'm sorry. Get the hell out of there.
I'm over it.

I would give no stars

I would give no stars. I was refused help at the wells fargo branch in mechanicsville, virginia, stating my count was suspicious.None of this was true, I was not able to make a important withdrawal, I also had an incident where someone posing as an agent withdrew all the money ahead in the checking account Wells Fargo does nothing to help people. In fact, take care less about the customer's money. And only serve themselves. I regret ever having an account with this bank. They also had fraud issues with my money. A years ago when they were stealing people's accounts in making accounts that they didn't need.Do not go to this bank. They're corrupt

Stay Away From This Bank

I opened an account with Wells Fargo recently and the experience has been horrible. I received a refund from a movie theater and they are holding my refund of $60.15. I was also sent money through zelle and they have under review the total amount sent to me.I called customer service and they said it could take a few days to review and it could be either accepted or returned. When you go to the atm machines they are either out of service or with cracked screens, in various locations. I also tried depositing a check and it didn’t have the option to deposit at the atm. I tried mobile depositing and it declined. Something is very weird with this bank. I do not recommend. Please be aware your money could be held and you will not be able to use it until they decide it’s ok to release the funds. Once they release my funds I will be closing my account with them.

Crappiest bank in the world!

In all their wisdom, Wells Fargo decided that me utilizing Zelle to transfer money from MY own external account to MY Wells Fargo account was an "unauthorized transaction" and shut down my online access and shut down my checking account. There was no warning, no discussion, and only RUDE as HELL people at the "department of loss and prevention services" treating me like a criminal for Zelling myself. Good riddance, I don't want to bank with them anyway, I only did it for the online checking bonus. What I'm more frustrated with is that at this point, even with the account closed, they REFUSE to re-activate my online banking access which is incredibly frustrating as I do have 2 credit cards with Wells Fargo that I can no longer manage online. I will not be risking my credit score by closing them and will instead call the credit card department to lock them and then destroy the cards. Don't bank with Wells Fargo. Save yourself days worth of hours of frustrations and phone calls. I have never had issues with Chase or Bank of America, stick with them.

I have never in my life been treated so…

I have never in my life been treated so poorly. I was threatened to have the police to be called on me because after waiting in line for 17 minutes a Teller asked if someone was just cashing a check, and this woman that just walked in the door said yes. I spoke up and said NO, you need to wait on the people in line first, well they didn't like that. This woman wanted to push by me and I wouldn't let her do it, and she said to me 'move the phuck out of my way' so when I return the same lingo, I'm told that I'm threatening....mind you THIS woman wasn't even a customer of the bank.... I can go on and on, but I have a formal complaint regarding this situation... bottom line... Wells Fargo doesn't care about their customers!!!!

Deposited $1,000, Received Hidden Monthly Fees Instead of the Advertised Bonus

I opened a Wells Fargo Everyday Checking account in December 2025 specifically because of a promotional offer advertising a $400 bonus. I used the promotional code, deposited over $1,000 into the account, and reasonably believed I had met the requirements.

Several months later, I discovered that not only did I not receive the $400 bonus, but Wells Fargo had charged me three monthly service fees totaling $45.

When I contacted customer service, I was told that although I had deposited more than $1,000, the transfer method I used did not qualify under the promotion's technical requirements. At no point during the qualification period was I notified that my deposit would not count. Had I been informed, I could have easily made a qualifying deposit or closed the account before fees accumulated.

After multiple complaints and escalation to their executive office, Wells Fargo refunded only $30 of the $45 in fees and refused to refund the remaining $15. They also denied any consideration of the bonus despite acknowledging that the promotional code was attached to the account and that I had funded the account.

My biggest frustration is not simply that I did not receive the bonus. It is that Wells Fargo allowed fees to accumulate while I reasonably believed I was complying with the promotion. A customer who deposits over $1,000 into a new account should receive a clear warning if the funding method does not qualify.

This experience felt like a promotional offer designed with technical requirements that many customers may not fully understand until it is too late. I closed the account and will not be banking with Wells Fargo again.

Marsha from the Home preservation Dept…

Marsha from the Home preservation Dept was not helpful at all. I called with a general inquiry regarding my mortgage which I gave the last four of my social for access. When I asked what home insurance do I have regarding my 5 year home mortgage loan I was told “I cannot say because that information is sensitive”. I was then told my insurance was with State Farm I asked to provide a policy number, once again was told sensitive information. I then asked to be transferred to a different department, and was on hold for 3 minutes until being told waiting for a customer service rep. After speaking with State Farm that there is no policy listed , I called back and was connected with Marsha once again. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor or manager someone that can help with this situation.

Wells Fargo is the WORST bank in USA

Wells Fargo is, without question, one of the worst banking institutions in the United States. How is it possible that when a purchased product is subsequently canceled, the merchant refunds the funds to Wells Fargo, yet Wells Fargo refuses to return those funds to my account?

This has occurred with two separate transactions. Furthermore, how is it possible that a charge was posted to my account for a transaction that never legitimately existed, and despite providing evidence that the transaction was the result of a scam, Wells Fargo continues to deny reimbursement?

Such conduct raises serious concerns regarding the bank’s commitment to protecting its customers and handling disputes in good faith. A financial institution has a duty to investigate unauthorized or fraudulent transactions thoroughly and fairly. When clear evidence is presented and reimbursement is still denied, it creates the appearance that the bank is disregarding its responsibility to safeguard its customers' funds.

Fraud cannot exist without those who commit it, but accountability should also extend to those who knowingly ignore credible evidence of wrongdoing. In that sense, the party perpetrating the fraud and the party turning a blind eye to it share responsibility for the resulting harm.

I’m thoroughly impressed by how…

I’m thoroughly impressed by how terrible this business card for my company is. It takes five business days to validate my payment, and the credit limit is extremely low. The staff is completely unhelpful, and the best part is that they don’t even increase your credit limit for this type of card. They say it’s for business, but they don’t care if you have an emergency. Sometimes I wonder if this is really a bank and if it deserves more than a single star on TrustPilot. :)

Literally trying to pay off my card…

Literally trying to pay off my card that I didn't realize had $40 past due and it tells me I can't pay online and to call a number so I call and they tell me I have to call during very limited business hours M-F 10AM-4PM CST. So crazy.. for $40? So inconvenient. If I am able to call during their hours I'm paying off the card and cancelling.
