Sharp Practice Time Wasters
Filled out the online form and was originally quoted £8600 so decided not to go ahead. Was then emailed saying there was a guaranteed price of £9500 based on the exact same details.
Booked an appointment and went along to their Barnstaple shed in the ASDA carpark.
The sales rep was polite and expecting us and went through the various ID checks prior to taking a look at the car, which on reflection was clearly part of the cleverly constructed sales pitch to get some level of commitment from us as an opener.
She then queried the number plate, the private plate was already taken off and the car back onto the originally allocated plates.
At this point she then said she would need to get her manager to just check things over on the basis of “if the number plate was a private plate, they might not have been able to find out the correct specification of the vehicle”. This is utter nonsense as anyone knows. Equally what are they basing the £9500 on if they aren’t sure of the vehicle specification??
After a 5m minute wait when nothing appeared to be happening we were told “yes that’s all checked and ok”
We were then offered £6600 because they now knew the right specification.
The offer of £9500 wasn’t guaranteed at all then was it WBAC, it was clearly a ruse to get us there in the hope we were desperate for the money so you can make a quick buck.
Total waste of 90 minutes of my time which by rights I should bill you for.
Don’t waste your time with these clowns.
