STRANGE RED DYE ON WALKERS SHORTBREAD COOKIES

Bought a box of non-expired Walkers Shortbread Fingers 150 g box. Opened and found 2 of them having a strange dark rose colored dye on them. I called the company yesterday 8-19-2026 and was told the person, Erica, who handles this concern is out to lunch and that I would receive a call back shortly. No call back. I called again on 8/21/2026 and had the misfortune of Erica answering the call and making the excuse that by 1pm today, she still had not been able to place a call back to me. You would think based on the message left the previous day with a receptionist about a strange dye found on the cookies, she would sound more alarmed. Nope, deadpan voice, no concern at all that this could harm a customer. She was more concerned about getting my address and sending more cookies to me. In fact, she was curt and treated me like an imposition telling me I had to mail the box of cookies back, pay the postage and go to the post office to send them off. Never offered a pre-paid postage slip. What a poor interaction with this person Erica and she does NOT represent this company well at all. They have lost a customer and I will be posting a warning on social media to be careful eating these cookies since we don't know what is on them or how they become adulterated. Poor form Erica. You really lack any kind of professionalism and business acumen.

I purchased Walker’s Shortbread

I purchased Walker’s Shortbread, which is marketed as a premium product, but the quality was clearly unacceptable. The biscuits had visible white spotting and an unusual texture, making them unappealing and likely affected by improper storage or quality issues.
I contacted customer service and provided photo documentation. Instead of taking responsibility, the issue was dismissed as “fat bloom” and attributed to storage conditions. I was then asked to provide a receipt, despite the product and batch information being clearly visible.
What is particularly concerning is that this is not an isolated incident — I have experienced the same issue more than once.
As a customer, I expect a premium brand to take product quality seriously and handle complaints with more accountability.
Unfortunately, this experience has reduced my trust in the brand

i just bought a big tin box of Kirkland…

i just bought a big tin box of Kirkland Walkers shortbread and i am so annoyed with myself fopr not doing more Sherlock. The quality is sub standard to say the least compared to just the Walkers. I presumed the quality of smooth silky buttery a touch moist short bread biscuits would be the same as the box that looked like the original Walkers but with Kirkland written in front. I was duped as flour and butter is obviously sub standard and its just so sad that such an iconic brand would let themselves become so sad as to demean their brand by doing this. You would think that being a family owned business and being renowned around the world that they would have enough money to buy and do what ever they wanted without selling themselves out, but no, another travesty in humanity selling themselves out for another buck over substance. It really isnt going to end well is it

Perfect shortbread presents for all

Perfect shortbread presents for the whole world. Not kidding. Everyone loves the shortbread. Literally simple and perfect. Don't ever change. Perfectly happy recipients every time. Stick to the simple shortbread options for those with food restrictions: Halal, Kosher, Vegetarian. Vegans - sorry. Also the Ecclefechan Tarts are heavenly - like mince pies but delicate and fragrant once heated a little.

Excellent service

I bought 4 boxes of these delicious shortbread biscuits online, from the official shop, and needed it to be delivered as soon as possible. It took a bit more than 24 hours!
I called their support customer number and the lady did an exceptional job! Thank you very much Walker's of Scotland - walkersshortbread.co.uk

Assorted box of Shortbread

Bought a assorted box of shortbread. Not nearly as buttery as they were in the past.
The rounds were good, but the rectangle fingers were hard as rock and the wedges were some where betwixt the two extremes - clearly the holes make them harder and the ruffle keep them softer.

Them we tried the gluten free shortbread rounds - the worst excuse for shortbread I've we've had - even a small child could make better tasting shortbread on a first attempt! They are all like sand glued together and with a sugar sprinkle on top - what an utter jobbie!

There is no butter taste

There is no butter taste. My favourite shortbread has been sabotaged. Will not be buying it again and I am upset because I have bought it for over fifty years

Advent calendar.

Ordered an advent calendar and the biscuits were all broken and smaller than expected for the price paid. Really not worth the money and a huge fail on Walkers behalf. Great biscuit but poor product. Very disappointing.

Walkers the best, but

Walkers make the world's best shortbread (though not quite as good as my mother used to bake). They get 6 stars. One star has been docked because of the poor decision to change the packaging from a simple tartan paper wrapper to a tricky-to-open cellophane inner wrap and a cardboard outer casing. In this day and age, Walkers, what were you thinking?
