Customer Care / Head Office
Volkswagen UK
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally escalate a complaint regarding my vehicle (Vehicle Number: LL75XSV) purchased from ID.7 Volkswagen South Gate on 1st January 2026.
At the time of delivery, I noticed two minor scratches on the vehicle. I immediately brought this to the attention of the dealership staff member, Dornal, who inspected the car and assured me that:
- I would be booked after two days and the scratches would be repaired within two hours, and
- The rear mats were not available at the time of delivery and would be delivered to my home at a later date.
Despite these assurances, it has now been 20–25 days, and neither the scratches have been repaired nor the rear mats delivered.
In addition to this, I am experiencing a serious issue with the vehicle’s charging cable. When I connect the charger at night, the charging automatically stops on multiple occasions without any clear reason. This issue has occurred several times and suggests a possible fault with the charging cable or charging system, which is extremely concerning for a newly purchased vehicle.
Throughout this period, I have attempted to contact the dealership reception several times. Unfortunately, my calls are either unanswered or I am repeatedly told that I will receive a callback, which never happens. On one occasion, I was told I would be contacted the following morning; however, when I called again, I was informed that the staff member was busy and would call later. This level of customer service is unacceptable.
As a Volkswagen customer, I expect all commitments made at the time of purchase to be honored and any vehicle defects to be addressed promptly. I therefore respectfully request your immediate intervention to ensure that:
- The scratches on my vehicle are repaired without further delay,
- The rear mats are delivered immediately, and
- The charging cable and charging system are fully inspected and the fault resolved.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no option but to escalate the issue further through the appropriate consumer complaint channels.
I look forward to your urgent response and a swift resolution.
Yours faithfully,
Mohammad Sulaman Yousaf Rani

Volkswagen is a great company.
I absolutely love Volkswagen products I tend to stay on the Audi side of things. My mom has had three different Volkswagen SUVs and the last of which saved her life in a T-bone car accident. They’re solid built vehicles they’re reliable, and the customer service is excellent.
VW Oldham, disgraceful customer service
This review concerns VW Oldham a Swansway franchise. I rang them today with an issues concerning a rear windscreen wiper fault , the first date they can look at it is the beginning of March about 3 months time
Absolutely disgraceful service and not acceptable as a windscreen wiper fault is a safety issue.
Rang VW Bolton and it’s going in next week
This dealership has now lost a loyal VW customer and my experience will be shared with others
Volkswagen Kirkcaldy Dan the legend! If you don't know "how to" with your VW just go to the garage and they will help!
Volkswagen Kirkcaldy
Had a problem with removing the headrest from the front passenger seat. Went to the dealer to ask how to do it. When I walked in there was a rep on the right hand side and he immediately greeted me and asked if I was ok. I told him what my problem is and, without hesitation, he stood up and said he'd do it for me.
Dan removed the headrest for me with a smile (surprisingly, not as easy as it used to be, with the new cars).
Dan, you're a legend! Thank you for your help!!
is it that quality
tbh i expected real german quality...nothign special abt cars

Avoid VW of West Islip (New…
I called this VW of West Islip (New York) dealer about the ID Buzz they advertised online for $47,996. Since I'm out of state, I asked for the out-the-door price. First, “Mariah” tells me they only provide OTD prices if you're at the showroom. But she passes me to Kate Jordan, who immediately hands me off to “Greg”. Greg also waffles on pricing, saying he needs to talk to the general manager and will get back to me. Hours later, I get a text saying they will beat any offer I get in writing from another dealer. Are you kidding me? Why did we all waste each other’s time if you’re just going to run a bait ad, advertise a low price, and never honor it? There are plenty of other VW dealers… go to them and don’t waste your time here with these fools.
nothing bad to say
i have nothing negative to comment when it comes to VW cars....reliable and quite nice...
i also read that CEO announced a relasae of a new EV car, that will cost around 20k usd...
idk. not fan of EV to be honest, I thnk the compay should concentate on traditioanl petrol based cars...
one thing i want is to see better electronics inside the cars,it is good, but can be better

If could rate VW Australia as a zero or negative rating I would.
I have owned four VW's as an ex dealer and only one was not faulty. My current Arteon is two years old and has been back to the dealer 14 times for warranty issues that are still not resolved.
VW Australia have rejected all complaints with no explanation. Unfortunately since moving manufacturing from Germany, this brand is now terrible for quality, coupled with lack of any service means no more purchasing across the group for me. No Porsche, Audi, Volvo or VW from hereon.
Brought a brand new Tiguan
Brought a brand new Tiguan, last 12 months been back to garage 7/8 times ranging from not starting to emergency braking at 50 mph , and all vw do is plug it into the computer and say there’s no faults ( car lights up like a Christmas tree) , steer clear of vw products, they really are not bothered in aftercare , got to a point where I’m taking legal advice

I have just bought a VW Golf from the VW garage in Stoke.
Meg was absolutely brilliant and supportive joined by Chris.
I will certainly be recommending them to my friends.
I don’t write many reviews but their service and professionalism warrants it.
VW disappointing & unexplained 'wear & tear'
We own a 2019 VW Caravelle.... extremely disappointing & unexplained "wear & tear", considering it's the occasional use family car & has cost loads in repairs & diagnostic fees! It was bought brand new, sat in the driveway unused throughout covid, serviced religiously & now has barely 31,500km mileage but has needed a new (expensive) radiator, wheel sensors changed twice, front suspension/shocks, rear wheel bearing..... ridiculous! Even getting a slot at the VW garage for repair is war- weeks for an appointment. You have to pay for diagnostics everytime. Was not value for purchasing cost AT ALL & can't wait to get rid of it. Very sad because had always been told VW was hardy & reliable.
VW has reemerged from its temproraty…
VW has reemerged from its temproraty fall out from , now they are investing in electro cars. ANd honestly I think this is the right move, better to have a division with EV cars as well. Taking into account their great manufacturing foundation, this wont be difficult to them...and recetly their CEO announced a new electro car model, its cost is around 25,000 eur. really nice to be honest...Apart from that, their new petrol driven cars are still good, quality ones, I am driving tourareg and so far no problems, little maintenance costs , great fuel consumption, and their tech service is 👍
VW isn’t what it used to be.
This is my last ever VW.
I have a VW T6 shuttle 2019 T6, 30k on the clock.
MOT and 3rd service picked up on a crank shaft seal weep and slight water pump leak, my garage of choice a registered VW/not actual VW, says it’s the third one they’ve had in, in the last week! Surely I shouldn’t be looking at these sort of issues with only 30k on it?
This is just my latest issue of quite a few, local dealer is next to useless, buying something Japanese next.
German quality? There is no such thing anymore.
VW failed to investigate known lane keep assist fault
Contacted VW as a documented fault, lane keep assist system failed and a permanent yellow light now on my dashboard. This is just over my 3 year warranty.
I wrote to them escalating this. They then issued their final position saying I had to pay for diagnostics of this known fault with no guarantee I wouldn't need to pay for the repair.
I have bought VWs for years. This Golf will be my last. So disappointed as I always have found them reliable.
This car literally doesn't work
This car literally doesn't work, battery and software, even after 4 visits to the dealer with proof that my family was in danger locked in the car and with evidence from specialists, they can't do anything because they can't find the problem and many customers are unhappy. Customer service is horrible and they denied road service on this lease, without asking about the problem, should they call my insurance... please, I don't know what to do, I don't use the car for the safety of my family.
The antithesis of customer friendly
Arrogant, totally non customer friendly, money grabbing.
