Frauds

Something went wrong while I was buying tickets for Das Phantom der Oper. The date of my performance was changed on me while I was checking out. They do not offer cancellations or exchanges. I called and dealt with a very hostile man who was blaming me for the situation. I have never had such a bad experience with a ticket sales company before and I really do not believe this was my mistake. At this point I doubt the tickets were legitimate anyway.

Dear Sir or Madam,

this review is factually incorrect.

We do not offer tickets for the Sisi Museum in Vienna at all. Therefore, it is impossible that this purchase was made through our company.

We kindly ask you to check your bank statement and verify where the booking was actually made.
If the payment was processed by us, the transaction description would clearly state either
“VIENNA TICKET OFFICE” or “ABSOLUT TICKET”.

Since this claim is untrue and damaging to our reputation, we request that you remove this review immediately.
If this false statement is not corrected, we reserve the right to pursue further action regarding the publication of incorrect information.

Kind regards,
Vienna Ticket Office

Stay away

Stay away. They don't sell you tickets, they "block" your funds *in case* they're able to get you tickets, and if so, they collect your money and send you the tickets. There is no assurance, however, that they will get you the tickets. They send you a "confirmation of request" which is simply that, confirming that they have seen your request. Nothing of a "scam" here, just a useless business model. Even better (i.e. worse) is that they have a phone number to call for any help needed. In our case, we needed help to know whether we would eventually receive tickets for the concert we had purchased "tickets" for, which was happening later that evening, 830pm. We had purchased "tickets" at 3pm and called just after 5pm. Their voicemail told us, however, that they are not picking up the phone after business hours (ending at 5pm)... So they sell tickets for events at many times of day, but will not provide customer service for all the events they sell tickets for. Your money and time is best spent elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback.

I have reviewed your case in detail, and you are correct. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding regarding the event start time. The performance began at 5:00 PM and not at 7:00 PM as stated in your confirmation.

We sincerely apologize for this mistake. The full amount has already been refunded to you.

We regret the inconvenience caused and are taking steps to ensure that such errors do not occur again.

Rip-off: they do not have tickets: you pay to wait ...

It is a rip-off: they do not sell tickets: you have to pay for "asking them to find tickets". The site is misleading. They take the money and thereafter they send you a message that they do not have the tickets. They do not give a timing for delivering the tickets either; In the meantime available tickets sell out on official sites and you have to wait, because you may loose your money. When you complain you have to pay 20% "cancellation fee" as a "service". The info is deliberately hidden in the German T&C's (no English version available).

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your feedback. However, your description is not accurate.

The tickets you selected were available. On our website, every order is first submitted as a request, which our team then processes during our business hours to avoid overbooking. This is clearly stated in the ordering process and does not mean that “we take money without having tickets.”

You contacted us immediately after submitting your request and asked to cancel it before our team could confirm the order. Since cancellations or exchanges are generally excluded, we offered you a goodwill cancellation with a 20% fee.

Your claim that we “charge money without delivering tickets” is therefore incorrect. You requested the cancellation yourself before we could process your order.

If you have any further questions, we are happy to assist you.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your feedback.

This is not a scam. You did not purchase a ticket – you submitted a non-binding booking request. For such requests, the amount is only temporarily reserved by your payment provider; it is not charged. Our team then checks availability manually and either confirms the booking or releases the reservation.

This process is clearly explained during checkout and in the confirmation email you received.

If you have any questions about your specific request, we are happy to help.

Bought tickets never delivered

On May 5, 2025 I purchased two tickets on Viennaticketoffice.com for the May 6, 2025 session of the Spanish Riding School Training 10:00 AM session. The website stated that the tickets would be delivered in 2-3 hours via email

I never received the tickets and a 50,40 Euro charge was made to my credit card by “Absolut Ticket”.

At about 6:30 AM on May 6, I checked my email but there was no email containing the purchased tickets. I then sent an email to the vendor confirming my correct email, but no tickets were ever received.

I disputed the charge through my credit card company but was informed that the vendor refused to issue a credit. No response from the company after multiple attempts.

Avoid these crooks.

Learnt a valuable lesson… if you can’t book your precise seat, it’s a reseller. Despite asking specifically to NOT sit in an area, we were seated there. So disappointing. Go direct - this company is a reseller.

Paid EUR796 for an exclusive VIP table - got no table - and no refund. Avoid viennaticketoffice.com

This company sold us VIP tickets x4 totaling EUR796 for a performance of the Strauss Dinner Show in Vienna in December. The venue did not provide us with the VIP table that we paid for, but instead tried to seat us at a table with other guests (the VIP tickets are for a table of your own). They tried to get guests sitting at other tables to move, but these people, understandably, refused. The venue had clearly messed up their seating plan. They failed to provide an acceptable solution and, our evening spoilt, we left, demanding a full refund - which they said they were unable to provide. My emails have all gone unacknowledged. I feel as if we have been thoroughly scammed. I only wish I had looked up ViennaTicketOffice's Trustpilot reviews in advance.

Avoid ViennaTicketOffice -Terrible…

Avoid ViennaTicketOffice -Terrible Service

I booked tickets for **Das Phantom Der Oper** on a Sunday, only to find out that ViennaTicketOffice’s ticket pick-up is restricted to weekdays (Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). This makes it impossible for weekend visitors to collect tickets, and they explicitly forbid pick-up at the theater's box office.

Despite the high service fees, there was zero flexibility or support when I requested assistance, and their "no refunds" policy left me stranded. This service is inconvenient, overpriced, and customer-unfriendly. I strongly recommend avoiding ViennaTicketOffice. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

Dear Sir or Madam

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with us.

We understand your frustration with the ticket collection policy; however, please note that when you independently booked your tickets on our platform, our opening hours were clearly listed as Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, with closures on weekends and holidays. As with any booking, it is the customer’s responsibility to consider whether collection within these hours is feasible. Additionally, as an informed consumer, you might have noted that other platforms, such as Wien Ticket, offer electronic ticket options, giving you alternative ways to purchase tickets should physical collection be inconvenient.

Please understand that a refund will not be possible, as the responsibility for collecting tickets within our specified hours lies with the customer.

You made your ticket purchase independently on October 28, 2024, through our online platform, where our weekday-only ticket pick-up hours (Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) are clearly indicated. It is the customer’s responsibility to determine whether these hours align with their plans.

In an effort to accommodate your situation, we arranged as a courtesy for your tickets to be available at the evening box office, a measure we took despite our policy of in-office pick-up only. However, this option was not utilized.

We regret that you were dissatisfied but hope this clarifies our efforts to assist and the policies in place.

Dear Sir

It appears you have left a review for the Vienna Ticket Office (Absolut Ticket GmbH). We have never sold tickets for the New Year's concert as only the event organizer (Wiener Philharmoniker) is authorized to do so.

Please carefully check who charged you for the tickets. The company's name will be clearly stated on the charge. We kindly request you to delete this review from our platform as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Tickets never arrived and they wouldn’t…

Tickets never arrived and they wouldn’t give me a refund despite proof that I had had to purchase replacement tickets at the venue.
Do not use these people. Absolute rubbish

The reply I’ve just received is a lie. The office is only open Monday to Friday on the number given on the email. I called the office and got an answer machine telling me it was closed.

Do you really think I would want to pay another £160 which is what the tickets cost at the venue? On top of the £84 I had already paid to your office! Do you think I wouldn’t check every single email folder !! I’m not stupid and I don’t have money to burn.

Dear Ms Green

As discussed and evidenced in our previous emails, the tickets were sent to your requested email address on May 18, 2024, at 08:53:31. It is possible that the tickets ended up in your spam folder or were accidentally deleted.

Since the tickets were booked and the event has already taken place, we cannot cancel them retroactively as previously discussed. We were available via email and phone from 9:30 AM on the event day and would have been happy to assist you before the event. Unfortunately, we only received your email after the event had ended.

Best regards,

Vienna Ticket Office

Viennese Pickpockets

The company plays a shell game. You think you're buying electronic tickets; instead, you get the promise of a paper ticket that will be delivered to your email. I ordered tickets for the art museum, selecting today as the day I would visit. I expected electronic tickets; barring that, they should have rejected my ticket request because they wouldn't be able to fulfill it within the timeframe. Instead, they just took my money, even when I tried immediately to cancel the ticket request.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid.
Get your tickets somewhere else. Ideally directly by the organizers: you will save 20% and get your tickets right away … and would have the right support if needed.
I purchased concert tickets a Friday night for the next day … the process is not automated and when I wanted to find infos if I will get my tickets on time : I found out that the customer service is available only from Monday to Friday … I thought then that I will not get my tickets and wanted to cancel the order … they offered me to charge me 20% of the amount to get a refund!
First and last time!

They show unavailable tickets

They show tickets that aren't actually available and when you book those certain tickets, they send you an email saying: "we are sorry but the ticket you requested (and paid for) is not available, would you like to upgrade to a much more expensive ticket or get your money back??"

I booked tickets two months in advance…

I booked tickets two months in advance but never received email confirmation, so I printed out my orders from the website and came to the office. There I was told by the receptionist that I came to the wrong agency. When I politely disagreed, there was an extended conference of clerks, followed by the appearance of the office manager, a rude and officious person who objected to my “attitude” and refused to help me complete the necessary voucher forms.

Do not use this site

Do not use this site. I tried to book a ticket and received an email saying this is not confirmed and we will reply within 24 hours. So I assumed they do not have tickets as the concewrt was in a few hours. Then took my money and sent an email 37 minutes before the concert saying be at the box office 20 minutes before! I saw the email the next day. They charged me, refused to refund the money and how on earth do you expect me to see an email and be there in 17 minutes when it takes 60 minutes to get there. Either you are in the business or you are not and DO NOT FALSELY ADVERTISE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TICKETS AT SHORT NOTICE. JUST BE FAIR.
