Very caring and compassionate staff. I'd have happily given 5 stars, however the fees are extortionate. Having to go there in an emergency is terrifying enough and then you're hit by a massive bill.

Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We had very good, attentive care, even if we did have to wait a few hours to receive it. Overall an excellent service. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the veterinary care was excellent.

Practicing vet was knowledgeable, sympathetic and professional in all respects, and did what was necessary.

Staff that treat the animals are good. Trying to get them to respond to my insurance company in order to get the claim settled however is not.
I also didn’t receive the email receipt.

Four weeks after our pet was put to sleep - we have not received her ashes yet and is rather unsettling

The financial communication is deeply concerning. When I called before bringing him in I raised cost concerns and was told help would be possible — that is why I brought him in. This commitment was never honoured. The out of hours premium was six times higher than a regular daytime clinic for a more limited examination, making meaningful treatment nearly inaccessible despite genuine need.
Despite actively engaging with Vets Now since April — calling multiple times and being repeatedly passed between the clinic and head office with no resolution — my bill was passed to a debt collection agency. As a result I have been charged an additional £50 debt collection fee which I should not be liable for, as the failure to resolve this dispute was entirely on Vets Now's side, not mine.
I was not ignoring this bill. I was trying to resolve it fairly. Instead I received a debt collector's letter dated 8th June that only arrived through my door on 19th June — 11 days late.
I hope Vets Now will take responsibility for the £50 debt collection fee and the broken commitment regarding financial assistance.

From the first phone call to the happy collection of my poorly pet, Vets Now Southampton were absolutely amazing. The whole team were calm, reassuring and efficient, taking the stress out of a very scary situation.
We can't thank you all enough for being such a fabulous team and being there when we really needed you.
Thank you all so very much.

The team were absolutely fantastic, our Teddy came in critically ill on Sunday night and they did everything they could and acted so quickly which made all the difference to him. They explained everything clearly to us every step of the way and we left given all the advice we needed to care for him. He’s now making a wonderful recovery thank you for doing your best for our little lad 🩷

Very disappointing experience.
When my dog was unwell and I needed the test results and medical records to seek a second opinion from another vet, the clinic refused to provide them. I repeatedly requested the documentation but only received it three weeks later, by which time it was no longer useful because my dog had already recovered.
Communication was poor, there was confusion with invoices and paperwork, and I was given conflicting information regarding insurance claims and additional charges.
Overall, the lack of transparency and delays in providing important medical records made an already stressful situation much more difficult. I would not recommend this clinic.

We took our dog at 10.30pm to the Reading branch, as he had his first ever seizure. The vet we saw was cold, showed no empathy or compassion. Her words were clipped with no warmth at all. Her words were, he’s had a seizure he could have more maybe tomorrow or next week or in a months time. It might be the heat. But could be a tumour! He’s an old boy nearly 14 had a good life if you don’t want to keep coming up here with him there is always the option to put him to sleep! With that, we said no we’ll have him back now and take him home. She didn’t care at all and we will be making a formal complaint. It was like she had no idea what the actual issue was so he’s old let’s let him go! Don’t know if she gets extra money for a euthanasia but she certainly wasn’t get her hands on any more money with my beautiful fur baby. For that hateful privilege cost me over £400.
After speaking to my own vet she tells me that I could have been given medication to stop my dog from having any more immediate seizures (at least until I could get him to my own vets) but this wasn’t even offered. This robotic vet with a heart of ice did nothing apart from offering to put my baby to sleep. She didn’t do any tests, nothing at all. Just seemed to decided he was old and might as well be put down! If you want to go home with your pet DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!

Vets Now Glasgow sent me the wrong pet's paw prints and fur, then when I called to return them to the right owner and ask about my pets... the head of reception said that the paw prints weren't coming out well "because Mr Biscuits has been in the deep freezer" but he could "scrape together some fur..."
He then had the audacity to say... "And might I add, what a beautiful cat" - shocking
