Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The staff were really friendly and supportive. The vet was really kind and did all she could for our pet. However, the huge issue with these vets is the cost. There is no way to justify the cost, I understand that they say they have running costs and their policies on profits etc are laid out on the website, but this is extortion and the people who make these price decisions are really praying on the love and emotions of people who love their pets.

A routine castration at pets at home turned into a nightmare had to attend out of hours at £288 5 mins later said what do you want us to do found it unhelpful and very expensive and next day back to vets they didn't offer any pain relief no information how to help my dog day light robbery or night time robbery oh and I would encourage people to make a complaint to RCVS.ORG.UK they will investigate and you can ask for goodwill payment back

Firstly, no issues with the vet, care, staff or treatment. However, when I called this out of hours service I was told the fee would be £180. Quite expensive, but fair enough. Anyway, once treated I went to pay. Anticipating £180 plus cost of medicine. Oh no… it was actually £288 plus medicine! Seems that the £180 excluded VAT and the cost of actually seeing the vet at around £70. So the 188+VAT is for access to the waiting room!
When quoting a fee you need to be clear if plus VAT or you are breaking the law!
The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regs 2008 The Pricing Guide: (Section 2) All price indications you give to consumers, by what ever means, should include VAT.
And no mention of the fact the £188 does not include a consultation is madness. Why quote a price that includes no access to a vet? This is misleading.
Oh, nearly forgot the £25 fee for claiming from your insurance! I told them I would do the paper work myself but was told it was compulsory or they would not sign off on a claim.
High prices are one thing and if you are transparent people have a choice. This company uses smoke and mirrors you make you think one price, but when you check out, sleight of hand and a higher price. Feel sorry for the practice having to face the public.
Very disappointed that nearly all vets use these people. I’ll need to find a new vet that doesn’t.
I imagine any time now I’ll see a reply off boiler plate telling me why the fees are high. Just to be clear, I’m calling out the deception not the fees but guess they are embarrassed by those too.
Did you not read my message? It was not about your fees, it was about breaking the law and deception!

The price to see a vet is very unreasonable for one and then to pay that price and your puppy be wrongly diagnosed and then have to be put to sleep 48hrs later because you wasn't listened to and then to add on an in patients fee just for leaving the consultation room is poor and unfair.

The vet was a lovely lady who dealt with our puppy emergency in a great way and the lady on reception was warm and welcoming.

The nurse at the desk (blond? Owns a staffie) was particularly lovely and helpful- helped me understand how to claim on my insurance and tried to ease my worries while waiting to hear about my pup. The vet on the shift was also great - very clear, spoke me through the options and gave me the information to make a decision about my pup's care.
Thank you.

Had to use an emergency vet at the weekend, called Many Pets on the Monday with invoice total and paid into my bank account the next day.

My dog was extremely sad and crying, hardly moving, not eating or wanting to go out. I called at midnight and a lovely voice talked to me and told me a doctor could see my dog. I went there and the doctor assessed my dog and gave him an injection to release his pains. I was explained so to understand what was wrong with him and recommend the treatment, letting me know that I should go back if there's anything not going well. I loved how kind and professional the doctor was. I am extremely grateful and i thank Vets now from all my heart ❤️ 🐾

The vet was very knowledgable however we paid £180 for my dog to be given some painkillers and an extra £220 for a 10 minute consultation which we waited over an hour in a consulting room for despite being told to bring him straight in and they would be ready for him.

Caring and aware of the pain my dog was in. Calming to me too which helped. Fully explained, why he was in pain, clear direction about what to do next and future actions.
Took time and did not rush.
