Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

Wall to wall professional care and skills demonstrated,

What a wonderful, caring, professional team you have at Vets Now, Bury, Manchester.
Super Helpful and sensitive reception, the very skilled nurses - and your team of Vets, cared for our little 5 year old dog who came to you a very poorly dog and sadly died.
However one shining light in the sorry saga, is the wall to wall professional care and skills demonstrated, and the warm sympathetic nature of every single person we encountered, right from walking through the front door! - We Hope VETS NOW you are very proud of the a team at Bury Old Road - they should be!

Exemplary care and attention to detail

The attention to detail, the genuine concern for our pet and the warm and friendly manner we were greeted with. The explanation by the vet about what tests were undertaken and their results and the genuine interest in our pet was exceptional. It was a Sunday but no sense that we were an inconvenience and no hurry just authentic compassionate care. I would definitely use again.

The nurse and vet who treated my cat's burst abscess were kind and understanding, giving
clear advice. It was an emergency appointment and I was somewhat prepared for a high cost. However, £350 just for a consultation was a bit of a shock as was final bill of £626.

Calming vets - could do with air conditioning.

Whilst we got there and the vet there decided she was a dog person rather than a cat person, the vet we ended up with was the nicest and calmest vet we have ever met and our cat who was hurt did not make a fuss about her touching him. He liked being with her so we were lucky at that outcome. She was calm, polite, knowledgable and so stress releiving she is an untapped gem there. I would recommend her every single time. Why did I say about the other vet? well, she was told we were waiting, then a family came in with a dog and she basically dealt with them rather than us. That actually is so unprofessional and whilst they had a lovely dog, thats not what you do to people coming to your practice and paying the £300 plus fee for out of hours. I hope she is spoken to and warned that it was noticed. The lovely dark haired vet we had was much nicer and far more respectful to the pets and people. Shame you on you blonde lady.

Emergency and own vets couldn’t book in for 4hrs

My 15 year old dog had a seizure or stroke. Started rolling like a crocodile.
We phoned the vets during the daytime and was told only one vet on and not to bring our dog down as it could cause another seizure. We told the receptionist we didn’t know what was wrong, could be a seizure or stroke or heart & we wanted to bring him down. We were gave an appointment 4hrs later which we stayed not good enough and whilst on phone the dog had another seizure episode with eyes all over. She kept talking to the one vet on shift, clearly too busy to see him and then came back asking us to film him having a seizure. The receptionist then tried to phone another branch and we sat on the phone over half another hour hour & he had another seizure so we started heading to the vet. My wife then told no appointment. As this stage we took him to another vet not registered too, who dropped everything & came off lunch to see him immediately. At the same time our vets eventually said would see him at 14:00 at the different branch.

I put a complaint in, my dog was eventually put to sleep the same day.

15 days later I got the response, lessons learned, few excuses and extensions of truth and I decided to take my other dog to be registered at another vets.

Time a vet ombudsman to properly regulate.
If take out of hours at out of hours prices generally straight in.

Avoid!

Excellent service

Short time for our dog to be seen in what for us was a very stressful situation after he had been attacked. Great knowledgeable receptionist/vet nurse who was very reassuring. Excellent helpful vet who gave our dog a thorough examination

Slow at reclaiming from insurance

I had to take my cat Charlie to the emergency vet which was Vets Now. The vet was very good with him and knowledgeable and explained everything that she was doing very well. However what is stopping me from giving a 5 star review is the fact that it is very expensive and they are very slow at reclaiming from my insurance.

Our first time using this service. Consultant thorough and explained pros and cons of ccl surgery on our semior dog. Felt that cost was also a priority in their consultation. Will review again when surgery completed.
