Disappointed not as half good as the old one

I was hoping to replace like for like for my attic room sky window. There is comparison between the old one and the new one. The old one was very sturdy had a metal plate covering the top of the blind and the roller. The cord was a lot thicker. I regret buying it especially it’s double the price of similar blind from other retailers.

We were looking for a 200' x 24' ridge skylight , our order #

We were looking for a 200' x 24' skylight , we hired you guys. For our order #5026110019, we paid your requested deposit of 250K in May 2024, now you tell me, today, you tell me, that my skylight will be shipped on 11/11. So now, I have to install it in the winter, I have to build a tent, on top of the roof, heat it, and install the skylight. All because someone in your organization didn't do their job. We paid you in May, signed off on the engineering, and my skylight should be delivered at the end of this month. I'm sure that you have taken skylight orders after mine, which will be produced before mine, horrible way to do business. I am going to lose on the install , big time. Not Fair

Spares support poor

I Have two Velux solar windows now over 5 years old. needed a spar polar panel but have to order a complete motor kit. Given the solar panel with rain sensor is fitted as a separate part with two connectors on the end its pretty bad spares support that you cant obtain this item

One of the worst companies

One of the worst companies. Promised to send order 3 days in a row. Once sent the order was wrong and said it would take another 3 weeks to get the new parts. Sent them and they are wrong. Stay away or order elsewhere if you can

Vulux driver …

Although vulux customer service was excellent but driver was rude not at all helpful I would give his performance 0 he should deliver it to the house he left it in the street .

Great skylights, blinds not so much...

We bought 2 Velux fixed deck mount skylights and blinds to replace the 2 that we had previously installed 30 years ago, which were starting to fog up inside the glass. (Also, Velux) We were very satisfied that the original ones lasted so long and as a result, wanted to stay with Velux.

The skylights were installed a year ago, and we have been evaluating how well we like them.

While the new skylights look very nice, and installed nicely, the new room darkening solar powered blinds that are sold now leave a lot to be desired.

The old blinds were Venetian style blinds which could be angled in multiple directions and amounts so that you could adjust them to keep the sun from glaring into your eyes, but still allow light into the room.

They no longer sell the inexpensive Venetian blinds, and the very expensive new 'shade' style has to be closed completely when the sun is shines through in the afternoon, which darkens the room more than we really want.

The sun is very intense in Texas, and there was no way for us to see or judge how much light the light filtering version would let in during the peak sun hours, so we had to choose the room darkening to be sure that the glare in our eyes wouldn't be too much.

One other issue is that now we need to use a remote control to operate the solar powered blind control. No idea if just the solar panel/battery can be changed when it fails, or if it means that the entire (expensive!) blind assembly will need to be replaced. The previous blinds had a manual rod that could easily fine tune the blinds as needed – with no replacement needed after 30 years.

It was a great disappointment that we couldn’t get the, in our opinion, far superior Venetian blind option for our new skylights. Velux definitely needs to reconsider their decision to change to this style.

Very bad Velux window warranty service

I bought a large Velux roof window 2 years ago and the locking mechanism never worked from new, they eventually sent an engineer about a year ago but it still didn’t work afterwards, I have now contacted them again and instead of sending an engineer, they wanted photos, which I sent, they now want a video sent, they said they won’t go any further unless I send a video, this is appalling service, they say it’s because they are busy, well they shouldn’t sell the products if they can’t provide the warranty service!

We orders a Velux blind according to…

We orders a Velux blind according to the ordering instructions giving all the info on the little metal plaque on the Velux window. The blind that arrived no where near fitted. After many photos and conversations it turns out that our window is too old to fit their blinds! So Velux, why don’t you put this information on your sales order forms! Or even more sensible update your plaques to give all the info required? You have caused us a lot if aggravation. I’m not surprised your star rating is so low. We finally got our money back but only after getting our credit card company involved. The customer service people at 247 blinds come accords as being so helpful, they are not they are obstructive. I advise you go anywhere but this awful company for your blinds

Feel let down and disgusted

Bought velux windows on inserting then noticed a fine line on bottom of glass on one window ran finger over it and it appeared to be just a mark on glass the project sat a while and when heat went on the little line was a crack that spread contacted velux immediately trough builders I bought trough they didn’t want to know and said I should have reported at the time now I’m facing putting in new glass in a window barley a year old feel sick as this was clearly a problem out of my control won’t be recommend velux to anyone I know as I feel really let down

Replacement blind doesn't fit existing brackets

Replacement blind for existing velux window does not fit on the existing window brackets, despite statement on website that "Our unique mounting system lets you fit or replace your VELUX blind in minutes." Very disappointing as we have several blinds to replace with blackouts and ordered one for the smallest window to see if we could manage it. Drill needed, which I don't have and also don't want to damage window frame. The instructions show having to drill into the window frame to screw the brackets in, so I don't understand how this can be described as "Simply click the top of your new VELUX blind into the brackets, conveniently provided with all VELUX roof windows,"

Very happy customer

I've recently purchased 2 * skylights for an extension and 2* skylights for a loft conversion. Then I bought blinds for 2 of them from Velux.
I've been very impressed. The skylights are excellent quality, easy to fit and look fantastic.
The blinds had an issue, the customer service team at velux resolved the problem and they really cared. Top quality product and service

Not quality anymore, overpriced

I've been loyal to velux for the 30 years we've had skylights, always buying official windows and blinds for our 4 large skylights. We got replacement windows recently and while the glass is better the frame sucks, they don't open as smoothly and feel cheap like I'm going to rip the handle bar off accidentally one day. Never had that feeling with our older windows. The straw that broke the camels back is you now charge an extra £15 for 'premium' colours. I want a slightly darker shade of grey than standard and with 4 windows I'm not paying £60 for the privilege. There's absolutely no way it costs that much extra for 'trend' colours when competitors have far more colours on the go. Velux is coasting on brand recognition and they're not holding up the quality end so they've priced themselves out the market. Finally time to say goodbye, I'll be buying from an alternate company from now on and wish I'd done it sooner.

I purchased the triple glazed sound…

I purchased the triple glazed sound reduction window - it almost broke the builders back installing it because it was so heavy but it was worth it. The noise is minimal and it looks bloody brilliant- very glad I went with Velux

velux blind has broken

My velux blind has broken in just 6 years. I reached out to ask if it was fixable and they basically said no, it’s out of warranty (3 years) and I have to buy a new one. 6 years is not a reasonable amount of time for £100 blinds to last. I wasn’t even given a discount for a new one. Terrible.

This is my second review in as many…

This is my second review in as many months. Last time they helped me out of trouble when I ordered the wrong product. This time they kindly offered to send me some window clips that I appear to have lost. All at no charge. In a world where so many vendors’ customer service is so bad, these guys have excelled.
