Unhelpful customer service if your van isn’t supported

The software advertises tons of van templates and given that mine is one of the more popular, I assumed it would be in the software. Within minutes of installing it, I realized I was wrong and uninstalled and contacted support to explain and ask for a refund. The support team was unhelpful, disregarded my request for a refund or the circumstances around it (I don’t want to make my own template, it’s irrelevant that you can do that). Frankly, I’m shocked that it’s worth $27 to these people to disrespect a customer rather than offer a refund on a product I clearly am not going to use. Seems like the product is fine, but they certainly don’t care about the customer experience.

Providing our software has been supplied exactly as shown and described, you have logged in, and you are not suffering any technical issue, a refund would not be available.

We advertise 3 ways to create a `personal template and this is what we have provided. You have not been hindered in any way to create one and we have made specific recommendations to you regarding making a small adjustment to a pre-made template, which you have refused.

Stating that you only wished to use one of the three options is not reason to request a refund, that is your personal preference.

We haven't disrespected you in any way, we have provided our software in goodwill exactly as requested during your purchase and you have all of the features needed to create an amazing design.

We have been very helpful indeed with all of the information and advice given, and we appreciate that your review is based only your expectation that a refund should be given no matter what, if you demand one.

I've been really impressed that I found every item that I needed for the campervan I'm planning to built. I could even change the materials and colors for the furniture! Definitely recommend to plan it with Vanspace3d if you're going to build the vanlife.

They have no faith in software as can't even offer a trial, so don't bother.

Purely based on interactions with Customer Service I'm sad to say I have to give it 1star.

(Oh, and yes they will say they don't recall anyone of this username emailing them, blahblah, because I don't use the same one for every account dur).

They seem scared to make a trial available, and instead hide behind the 14 day cooling-off period (which is handily invalidated by logging in even once - hence the 14day period is essentially USELESS in actually evaluating the software!). I can only presume they realise that they would get virtually no sales conversions from trial software.

So, vanspace3D, IF you genuinely have faith in your software, start offering a 24hr trial version.

(Here follows a bullet list of reasons why they choose not to.)

vanspace 3D do not use user names and so unless your write your review using the name registered on your vanspace 3D account, we would not be able to locate it.

When logging into your software, you enter your email address which trust Pilot does not allow us to see within a review.

If we could offer a free trial that allowed a user to fully experience the software yet still need to go on and purchase a licence to complete their design, we would.

A layout can be created in under an hour if needed, multiple layouts within a 24 hour free trial period are possible so how could this be done?

A demo version that can not allow all features to be accesable? Thats not going to give a good experience. We know, we have tested many different options.

We understand that you may not be happy with this however, this is our policy, and as we do not wish to provide software full of annoying adverts, this policy will remain.

As for 14 day cooling-off periods being waived once software login occurs, this applies to all software as forms part of the regulations surrounding the purchase of digital content.

Trust Pilot is no place to find only real users' experiences with any software, not when 1 star can be given just because a free trial is not offered.

Head to Facebook and Instagram, where users right now are sharing the amazing layouts that they have created within our software, you can even follow their stories as they take their design and start their real life build.

We bought the year license (thanks god)…

We bought the year license (thanks god) and we could do anything that we wanted. A friend that is graphical designed tried to help us and almost vomited in my computer

" Please tell me that this app is from 2000 and they discontinued it and you still want to use it, because is ugly, and not functional at all"

He actually did a basic design where we can start, in illustrator and is 500% better than this app.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, based on the name given here I have not been able to locate any correspondence that you may have had with our Support Team.

I think you may have not realised that our software is not developed for those with graphical design experience, which is very hard to learn and takes a long time. That would include Illustrator, not a cheap program at all.

Our software is dedicated to those who are embarking on their first van conversion, and without any design experience whatsoever. With provided Tutorials, help guides and Support, our users are creating amazing designs and sharing them with us on Social Media - Have you checked them out?

We don't think it is ugly, we think it is simple and as there is no other software dedicated to first-time van converters, not comparable to any other.

All of the functions needed to customise 3D objects to fit the individual van templates are provided but as you haven't mentioned what is was that you were unable to create, It is hard for me to determine where the issue lies.

I have sent you a message via TP so that we can be in touch and hopefully get to the bottom of the problem you have had.

Don't buy this app' !

I logged only once to the software just to check if my Mercedes Vito W639 was modelled (as it's not specified on the website and now I'm thinking that it is on purpose, just to get money). I asked for a refund and was happily surprised to get an answer on a Sunday with a promise to get an answer the next day but since then (we're Thursday evening so 4 days after)
and a reminder 2 days ago nothing!!!! I am really disappointed and do not recommend this application if you are not sure that you're vehicule model is included!!!
I definitely should have checked the comments before buying this scam...

1. You have logged into your software on more than one occasion
2. We do not provide a free trial, provide 3 ways to create your template, and are able to discuss templates prior to purchase at any time.
3. Logging in just to take a look is an attempt at a free trial, we advise not to do this.
4. The Vito is an available template and requires a small adjustment with some easy sliders for your particular model

a. We received your initial email on November 12th
b. Our Support Team confirmed receipt on November 13th
c. Our Service Team contacted you on November 14th
d. You responded on November 16th
e. Our Service Team replied on November 18th
f. You replied the same day

As we have provided the software exactly as described, with the advertised features to create your template, you have logged in and are not suffering any technical issues, a refund is not available.

Having looked through all correspondence and login history, I am happy that our team has dealt with your request per our displayed refund policy.

It is very easy to create your template, simply select the Vito and use the sliders in van settings to make any adjustments needed, I can see that our team has provided you with the help guides to do this.

Vanspace3d is an absolute scam. They make you pay $45 and still you can’t use every item/furniture. It’s really bad to handle and not intuitive. Absolutely overpriced and not worth it.

Something does not sound right here as your software license is a one-off fee with every single feature included, there are no extra costs or limited areas at all.

You can use every single 3D object from within the Furniture Library in any template and so I am not sure what you mean by 'and still you can’t use every item/furniture'

The fact that you seem to think this and also say that ' It’s really bad to handle and not intuitive' sounds like a technical issue, possibly permissions not allowing the software to run its full features.

I am not able to locate your account based on only the name Paul and so have sent you a message via Trust Pilot, we hope to look into this for you very soon.

Once you have logged into any software you waive your right to any 14-day cooling-off period and the software provider's refund policy then comes into play.

Finding too complicated is not a reason to request a refund and we provide so many different ways to help get you up and running as quickly as possible.

If you read these reviews below you will find some stating that our software is too simple, others have said too hard, so this is obviously down to the users 'technical' skills.

It is also apparent that some will skip passed the full recording of our software in action, being used to create a full layout with a vocal explanation, that is shown during the purchase process to absolutely everyone.

It is important to not scroll past so that you can view and understand exactly what to expect. We put it right at the top of every landing page so that it can not be missed.

With vanspace, you do not need any previous experience as we simplify everything and provide tutorials, help guides, and tailored support from our Support Team. That's what we are here for, to get you up and running.

I have located your account and previous correspondence that occurred in January 2022 when you stated that you 'expected something different'

You had also logged in and used the software on 10 separate occasions.

We requested further information specifically to understand if this was a learning or technical issue, your response determined that this was not technical.

We advised that as you were not experiencing any technical issues and had logged in, a refund was not available and provided you with multiple recommendations. We also requested more specific details about where you were 'stuck' so that we could tailor further support, which you declined to provide.

As the owner of the software license of course it is totally up to you how and when you use your software however, I would urge you to make the most of it and accept all of the support that has been offered.

Just let us know what you are wanting to design and we will take it from there.

DO NOT BUY!! Terrible application/SCAM

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
This application appears to have been created by children for children.
I purchased the app thinking that It would help in my van design and give some inspiration boy was I wrong.
This application is awful! It is extremely clunky, poorly designed and not fit for purpose. There are no dimensions, you are unable to remove the bulk head and you can only use the templated images to add furniture to your van and one of them is a dog!
Trust me there is a lot more worse with this app and I only used it for 27 minutes.
If you are serious about building/designing a camper van avoid this application at all coast!
I have also asked for a refund 33 minutes after buying and using the app however I am still waiting on a response (8/11/2022).
I would never have bought the app if I had have read the refund policy first. Clearly they know that their app is terrible hence why they add the following clause in to trap you and take your money "Once you have logged into the software, changing your mind, no longer needing or finding it too hard to use initially is not a reason to request a refund". I hope people read this review and AVOID THIS SCAM ALL COSTS!!

Good programme for the money, you need some brain power thats all

I think the bad reviews are a little unfair, firstly - you need some knowledge of how to use these programmes, if you don't - youtube it - once you know how to use it its relatively easy - I did 3 vans in 1 day - when i needed support in downloading the app the customer service was very good, it gives you a great an idea of dimensions and sizes for your conversion, I am a conversion company and have found it useful to show clients and for the price I don't really know what anyone is expecting, if you want something better than this you would be paying alot more! the only thing I would prefer is an option to add my own materials and more furniture (e.g. top cupboards) anyone who is complaining I would say is more down to not understanding how to use it and not taking time out to watch some youtube videos as its really not that hard once you've figured it out

Not a review so much as a warning to…

Not a review so much as a warning to Vanspace customer service to maybe change tactics. I was looking into buying your product but seeing the adversarial, confrontational and take no responsibility approach you have to customer service I am staying far away from your company. You call out and shame your customers, you argue over petty things, you are condescending and rude. I work in customer service I get that customers are unreasonable, don't listen or read direction and are just plain wrong a lot. But your approach to handling it is terrible and is scaring off future customers. A non committal apology and maybe some helpful answers to specific issues is all that is needed here, keep the rest in private correspondence. You are coming across as arrogant and unable to take any responsibility or criticism. Not a good look.

Edited to add: Your response to me is better than some others I have read but you still chose to write a novel with a bunch of defensive sounding excuses and sound kind of passive aggressive with your "thanks for your feedback". You are correct this is not about your software but the way you communicate with customers is a big part of a successful buisness. If what I have seen here is an example of the tone you take with your customers who are having trouble I am not surprised they get annoyed and post bad reviews, even if they are in the wrong. You seem so focused on winning your point that you don't care if you are making your customers feel stupid. Also of course you are good to customers that have only good things to say, it is how you deal with more challenging customers that decides how good your customer service is.

We actually receive a huge amount of interest in our software from those who read these very same reviews and are able to see that the majority of genuine 1 star reviews, are from those who simply refuse to provide requested information and believe that writing a review will force a refund situation.

In a nutshell, those who wish to bypass a very clear and available refund policy, and those who are attempting to use as a free trial.

Technical issues can occur of course, not all systems are set up the same although we very much wish they were!

We know how our software works and so when any one experiences anything different, it is down to the system it is being used on.

All users are provided with the exact same software, should there be an actual software bug or issue, every single user would experience it, it would be added to our bug report, and resolved by way of an update .

If one user experiences an issue while others do not, we need to look at the users set up to resolve for them.

Sadly that is where some feel, as yourself, that we are not taking responsibility. This is utterly incorrect.

Once all requested information is received, we will tell you how to resolve so that your software performs exactly as described and shown.

If we can not, we refund in full.

Wanting to miss out the middle bit with us, refusing to allow us to investigate and resolve is not acceptable. We are actually legally bound to investigate and resolve once software login has occurred,

Of course many of the views are completely genuine and written for the right reason here. We love to hear actual real life experiences with our software here, good and bad.

Feedback is brilliant, it helps us grow, make improvements and introduce requested new features.

We do appreciate your feedback too, however it is not about our software.

Absolutely dreadful!

Absolutely dreadful!! Terrible software, stuck in 2015.
I contacted them for a refund as soon as I realised how bad it was, aprox 5min in between (18th of August 2022). Now still here trying to get a refund (15th September 2022) but nothing but un helpful back and Forth “NO” noting that 1. Still in the 30 day cooling off period, 2. The software has not be used. 3. Meaning I have a right for a refund. Save your money and be aware. Also be aware it dose not tell you what currency it is in.

I love this app

I love this app, I have spent a year building and rebuilding 2 vans, its excellent. I have however hit a wall. My latest design will not load for some unclear reason, please help.

If you are reading this and trying to decide, I would say do it, it has made a huge difference to me, I would have wasted thousands on design and redesign. The 3D rotation option is fantastic. I would like an option to go inside an look around like on the home shows.

Even if it's the only dedicated app for Van design, the software is bad

I have recently purchased the software for business purposes and wanted to run my van conversion company using it.
Paid the yearly subscription of ~130$ even though my guts wanted to get the basic version just to try it out.
I saw the tutorials for a year before the purchase, but the hands-on experience is terrible and I work in the software industry (my business aside).

Before someone from the marketing department will start telling me that it's my fault for not understanding the software, please stop.
Here are the most annoying things about it, without going into too many details:
- once you start creating a van, you cannot return to the main dashboard to select a second project, tried all buttons and once you're in, you can only close the app.
- I tried adding a window on the van door, you only have 2 window models and you cannot position it correctly no matter what. First because the walls are curved and the window only stays straight, second because it doesn't become a single entity with the door itself. You cannot merge them together, you only have a sandwich of stuff.
- you cannot edit the floor layers, only the colour of the materials
- you cannot create your own items
- you cannot position an object to align eith the surface borders (walls or floor), you hope you get as close to the edges
- the measuring tool is pointless also. I wanted to measure the sliding door width but the pointer went wherever it wanted
- cannot export the project and the vans uploaded are not updated.
I have a Citroen Jumper 2015 myself but you only find the models prior to this.

How can you suggest the purchase of a business license if this software cannot be used for business?
How am I supposed to present this to a customer without showing him the detailed electric system in a separate layer that shows the exact measurements?
What about a custom build on client specs, knowing you cannot build your own furniture?

Honestly I thought Sketchup was pretty difficult to use, however this software not only is useless for a detailed project, but also expensive.

Totally wasted 130$ which i will never get due to their (scam-ish) refund policy.

This is just a boring video game, it doesn't even need to install on the computer, you just download the .exe and run it, like a miniclip game.
I don't recommend it, sorry if I might seem as over-reacting, but it's really just a joke of an app

Can I first confirm that if wishing to use our software in a business capacity, a business license is required so that you have permission to use our software commercially.

Let me just address some that you mention as this does seem to be a lack of knowledge in the software.

1. You can return to the main dashboard from the design area without closing the software. Click the cross in the top right-hand corner, you will be prompted to save. Once saved, click the cross again and select NO ( You will have already saved) you will then be in the dashboard.

2. Yes, you can create your own items including windows with curves, we even provide see-through textures for the glass

3. You can align objects to surfaces, we recommend doing this in 2D mode and there are a number of features available

4. All templates are adjustable, you can also create your own within the custom area and save them for future clients' use. This allows for the differences between years if needed.

Should a particular year become popularly requested, we will add as a pre-made template

A sharing platform is also on its way allowing users to share custom templates and objects between them, even full layouts will be able to be shared.

With regard to the Measuring tool, it has developed a bug in v3.05. v3.06 will be released shortly and with that comes a new Measuring tool that will allow multiple on screen at once, and free measure rather than being limited to a single axis.

A few things that you will not be able to do, that we do not advertise and are just not possible

A. The van templates are solid 3D masses and you are not able to change their structure. EG, push windows into them and the wall automatically open up a space for it.

B. It is not possible for us to provide a feature that can take into account paneling or insulation. There is no way for us to account for the thickness because the techniques used and the materials that are chosen will vary so much between users.

Michelle and Will would always recommend that regardless of how you plan your layout design in our software or on paper, once you have installed the wiring and plumbing, insulation, and paneling within your 'real life' van, re-measure and adjust your layout within the software.

If you are confident in knowing the exact thickness etc, you can create with 3D shapes.

C, We do not advertise nor provide a detailed electric system in a separate layer, we do offer a basic plumbing and electrical feature that allows you to place the appliances/fittings required in the correct place and screenshot the wiring and plumbing required.

So that we can discuss further I will email you directly, I can then cover more in-depth to make sure that you are getting the most out of your software.

Paid and downloaded this app and after just couple seconds found out how bad this program is .. if you mention refund push back once you paid get lost!

If you looking for gallery app go to Google images for free and do not spend money on this .. save it for something rewarding;-)

As you can see in our refund policy, if your software is not performing as shown, this would suggest a technical issue and we will request some information from you about this.

We would then attempt to resolve and if we can not by way of technical support or an update, we refund.

I have located an email to us in which you initially stated

Our software is exactly as shown in the recording above which was displayed during your purchase, yes we provide pre-made options as shown yet we also provide you with many custom features to design your own template and objects.

I am not quite sure what you mean by a Gallery App as that would suggest there are not any custom features, which would be incorrect - nor am I sure what is meant by 'not really be able to force change the maximum'

I will follow up this response with a direct email so that we can obtain further information, this does seem to be more about a lack of features than an actual issue.

It's bad when the company…

You know it's bad when the company spends more time writing responses to negative comments than they do to dissatisfied customers asking for refunds. Don't fall for the BS advertisements. There are free versions of what they are doing here that work better. This software is built off of a game render software, which means it'll look pretty (still not as good as the ads), but when it come to actual usability it's garbage. Save the money, time and headache by doing literally anything else. It's a scam.

We don't have many reviews at all, in fact, have averaged about 3 a week for the last 2 years which, considering the thousands of users that we have, is minimal. It takes no time at all to respond, and we respond to all.

Here is our software in action creating a layout, exactly as we say it will and you watched this just before your purchase. You can not have missed it as it is right at the top of the landing page after clicking 'learn more' on any advert watched.

As you can see a layout is being created quite easily, is your software not performing the same? If not then we would like to know more.

As for a dedicated game render software, that is incorrect although game engines have far better UI tools than non-game application frameworks, hence being able to develop what we have. A 3D design software dedicated to van conversion.

Finally, there is no other software out there dedicated to the Van Life community as we are, and certainly not free.

If you are looking for a solution to…

If you are looking for a solution to help you design your van layout, this is not it!
This is not a CAD software or even a CAD viewer. It is written using 3D gaming software. Think 3D Tetris against a very basic background. You can do a very rough layout, but not a design to see dimensions and exact fit.
It does not have dimensioned van templates, and only includes European model vans.
There is a reason they don't have a "Free Trial" - no one would buy it. There is a reason they don't give refunds - everyone would want one.
Worst software purchase I have ever made.

We have 140+ pre-made templates of the most popularly requested models from our users, and these do include non European models.

It is important to also note that most 'European' models are simply renamed in other countries and we provide an extensive guide to show the different names.... and all dimensions!

You are quite correct that we are not CAD and neither do we describe or advertise our software as. We are a 3D living design software, exactly as shown on every single one of our landing pages where you watch a detailed recording of a layout being created. You can not purchase without spotting this.

Check out our social media and view the hundreds of users who are now onto their real life builds, following the designs that they have created within our software. These could definitely not be described as basic designs.

They have also used the correct features to achieve the dimensions that they need.

Finally there is one sole reason that we do not offer a free trial and that is because you can design a layout in under an hour,.

By the time the free trial had ended there would be no need to purchase a licence. Within a week you could have created a layout for multiple vans.

If you are looking for CAD dedicated to van conversion, there is not one. You may find one that will allow you to create the shapes that you need however it will be difficult, time consuming and above all, far more expensive.

Purely based on the vendor's responses here, desperately trying to hold onto unsatisfied user's money, it's made my mind up not to even try it. It's the wrong attitude to have. Instead try and improve your product, instead of arguing with customers - who many requested refunds within 14 days, why YOU think your product is good enough.

Those that we do have, whilst we value the comments, we do not pay attention to the scores. It's either 1 or 5 so we will always float around the 2.5 mark

All use the exact same software, some say too hard, some say too basic, some say it's brilliant..............

We value our users on social media more to be perfectly honest, those creating the most amazing designs, sharing them with us and then allowing us to follow their journey as they move to their real life builds.

Thats why we know our products is good enough!

Run away, no 3D export.

I'm used to 3D software, and there is no logic in this one. Working around was a pain in the ass, and it's really frustrating. If you want to make a rough blocking, this might be ok, for the rest go found another solution. Poorly way to customise the elements inside
I wanted to test different opening solution for the doors & cabinets but guess what in the end you CAN'T export your layout in any 3D format, just some screenshot. And as you can't mask some object for taking some point of view it's mostly useless at some point and it's a mess.
