Our centre and staff in Wakefield have over 30 years experience in the training industry. Our specialist training facility in Wakefield is outfitted with bespoke gas and power workshops to help develop both practical skills and present learners with a wide range of scenarios that they may be faced with when working out in the field. This is encapsulated most in our indoor street aptly named the ‘Electric Avenue’. We also have a number of classrooms use for theory based learning and assessments. The courses we offer are designed to be industry relevant to make sure every learner completes their time at Universal Skills Group with the skills and knowledge to enter the workplace or self employment fully equipped. We are constantly evolving our offering to keep pace with the energy sector and emerging technology.

Fantastic environment, Great staff.

All the staff very welcoming, make you feel at ease as renewing certifications can be very stressful.

In particular Mike Campbell is absolutely fantastic at his job, made a very long week fly by.

Louise was extremely helpful too in organising further qualifications required and managed to get me a big saving!

I’ve now decided to renew my ACS here in a few months time due to how much I’ve enjoyed the experience this week.

Brilliant all round!

The opportunity to learn new things…

The opportunity to learn new things about metering. Operation of time switches, Tele switches and contractors.
Further awareness of the service termination issues has been an eye opener.

I've visited USG in countless occasions now, and they've never been anything but professional, friendly, very informative and helpful.

John and Tim were a pleasure to train with, and I cannot recommend them more.

Good training experience with…

Good training experience with knowledgeable instructors. Michael Cottyn was very chilled as a lead trainer.
The exams for the gas safe course were relevant unfortunately they are not written well and caused undue difficulties. This is not the fault of USG but the awarding body.
All in all an enjoyable course cheers.
