We stayed at the Scarisbrick Hotel, Southport from the 2nd to the 5th of October. Based on our stay and experience we rated it 3 star.
On the plus side the staff were very helpful, the food was good and the room was large with plenty of space.
The cost to stay was good and the free parking a bonus.
On the down side the room was very hot even with no heating on. As we were 3 floors up the windows had safety cables fitted which severely restricted how wide the windows opened literally a couple of inches.
On Saturday at some point the boiler providing hot water to the 3rd floor packed in and remained so until we left on Monday. The reception were aware of it and were waiting for an engineer to come and fix it.
We were booked in for bed, breakfast and evening dinner which was good. However, on Sunday we were informed by reception that we had to go to their sister hotel the Prince of Wales just a very short drive/walk down Lord Street. We did not know about this arrangement prior to our arrival so it was a bit of a surprise.
Finally, a point raised by other guests was the loud music coming from nearby nightclubs which lasted until about 3am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Overall a decent, but dated hotel with a mixture of good and bad points giving it 3 stars.
Would stay there again though.

What a terrible experience, Spent 3 nights on a ukbreakaway.com tribute party deal, at the Sarisbrick hotel Southport, Do not stay at this hotel in can only be described as a doss hole the corridors and room smell of mould dust everywhere. Bed you can feel the sprngs. The dinner deal each night was very poor. If this is the standard off Britannia hotels used by this company don't book you will regretting it.

Stayed at royal bath Bournemouth 9 October 3 night tribute break .Have used uk Breakaways many times over the years and all kinds of breaks Christmas ,twixmass ,new year .short stays , longstays and have enjoy some decent stays and had a few mediocre stays .This recent break was a tribute break with other family members .From the first night we could see it was going to be hard work .Room was cold and was told on reception they can't put heat on in rooms without clearance from head office. That was totally unbelievable and things didn't get much better.First night listening to the entertainments team was embarrassing 2 different singers were completely off key all night. The head of entertainment group couldn't give us the proper itinerary for each night and it changed every day to what you thought singing got worse every day.The one saving grace was the Elton John tribute night was fairly decent.we'd seen other entertainment teams at the hotel that were great and knew how to interact with the guests but this lot were unreal. They didn't have a clue. Now I must say the food has gone downhill too.Have had some good menus over the years but now it seems that just as Bournemouth town center is badly in decline the royal bath hotel is following suit. The staff throughout the hotel leave you feeling like you're not wanted. We will be going somewhere else in future .

Our room was quite nice at the front of the hotel, the only problem is the lift ,which only holds 4 people, which when there's a queue takes a while ,
The waiter called pal was very nice ,and it was value for money .

I find the accommodation suitable but not wonderful, though I must agree the food makes it all bearable. I agree with you; you get what you pay for!

The holiday was due to start today, so this review solely relates to the "pre-holiday" experience. Pleasant enough, but the advertised price was discounted, but I was asked to pay the original price, which was £60 more. Free parking was also advertised, but a charge of £6 a day was mentioned, & there was a problem over double v twin room. Two of these issues were sorted right away however. Also, when I was asked to give a review, the response I received when I did, was totally inappropriate, & seemed to come from badly thought out AI. (or a child) I had to cancel the holiday when my wife took a stroke last week, & I was disappointed that there was not the opportunity to reschedule to a later date.
