Our agent was Natasha and to be totally honest she was absolutely amazing. The idiots at the HMPO kept asking for irrelevant and impossible to provide documents about my wifes background. I am the UK born parent not my wife. Natasha was very clear and well organised with the paperwork needed and the quality of documetation required. I had great confidence in her professionalism and experience. It took a total of 3 months to get the job done for my 3 kids due to HMPO stonewalling us. Natasha was a pillar of strength through all this and deserves a big bonus!
Yes their fee is more than you would pay direct to the HMPO but if the HMPO can throw these ridiculous curve balls and spanners into the process for no reason it is worth having a professional on your side. Without Natasha at UK Abroad we would still be fighting the HMPO and would have lost thousands having to cancel our holiday to the UK.

James Henry is completely correct. I used them last year and it cost me £259. My partner has now gone through the gov.uk website, which costs £95, and is as easy to navigate, in fact UKabroad must copy a lot of it. UKabroad proved to be an intermediary whose only discernable extra function was to get in the way. Incidentally at the end I could demonstrate that I had been conversing with a robot (which had, en route, sent me absurd advice).

We finally decided to give it a try; I was worried at first. Once we filled out the application and paid the cost of the passport service it went quickly. The email exchanged with the representative was courteous and expeditious. Numerous emails were sent in an orderly fashion requesting for information and some documentations. They had their process down to perfection. Start to finish just over 30 days and that was because I made a slight mistake and I lost 2 days. Hands down best virtual customer service.

Luckily I pulled out before paying anything. And that is only because I was shocked at the price the were asking. Unfortunately, that is not revealed before beginning the process. So the individual has submitted quiet a bit of personal data until you get to the payment page. That screams scam right? However, my biggest concern is that while I back peddled with the info, I believe it is already in their servers. Stupidly, I contacted them to ask if that data was indeed erased and received an email that it had. Then. Next day, received another email: same person (?) asking for payment. Conclusion: Data has not been erased. I'm concerned. Had my email. What else do they have? Where do I report this? I know there will be an AI response to this as many of you have already had. That does not alleviate my fears. I hate online transactions!
Progressive edit as of October 31.: So, as you can see, I did get the AI response with no right of reply. Heres the thing. The UK GOV website states very clearly what the your costs will be before you even begin the process. While UKAbroad may affirm their integrity in all things which may just be above board, and very convenient to non cautious clients, it does not excuse the fact that the fees are not clearly stated at the outset so clients can make an informed choice

Scam - go direct to gov.uk
For a simple renewal they charge 250 quid rather than the 90 quid gov.uk charges.

Jan from UK Passports helped me through the renewal process while I was living in Australia. Jan made the entire process simple and professional, and I received my passport earlier than I expected. Overall, there were no issues, and I'd be pleased to recommend Jan and the service to anyone. Cheers Mark

I received a slick, efficient service that led to a prompt renewal of my passport. My consultant, Jan, responded quickly and professionally throughout the process.

When I typed into the browser's search "renewing a British passport" this company's links and website information came up. Obviously I wanted to appy via the British government's website and not via some unnecessary middleman posing as an official website who was going to charge me EUR 150 more than the British government just for sending on my application data. They even have a crown logo to make it look as official as possible. I wasn't even sure what the official website is so I was fooled at first.
During the registration the overly expensive fee made me suspicious, and then I had to write my full name to confirm that the company could act on my behalf.
I broke off the scam application and searched for the official British government's website.

I’m in the US and had to apply for a new British passport as mine had expired 34 years ago!
The instructions that Jan at ukabroad gave me were precise and easy to follow. I think it would be easy to make a mistake and delay the process if doing it alone. But Jan helped me through the whole process with no delay and with clear communication. Communication was every day. The whole process from gathering materials and applying to receiving my new passport was about 3 weeks. Unbelievably fast!
Thank you Jan.

My Passport agent Jan gave very clear instructions that were very helpful in completing my Br Passport renewal process.
She demonstrated patience and was gracious in her approach reassuring me that I was following directions and indicated exactly what documents were required. Very efficient. Thank you.

The service provided was highly professional yet warm and friendly. I cannot speak too highly of the service I received for my Passport application which concluded on 11 August when I received my new British Passport.

Jan was fantastic helping me obtain a British passport for my grandson who was not born in the UK. It was so complicated, and they (the passport office) asked for so many notarised documents and information, even the birth cert of his unknown grandfather, that I could not have done it without his help and patience. When you call the passport office they give you no information at all or conflicting information. The initial photo that I sent from his birth passport was lovely and clear, but they did not accept it, choosing instead to accept one that looks nothing like him at all and makes him look like a terrorist. I wonder why that is. Welcome to Bonkers Britain everybody.
