Twint Fails Victims: No Support, No Accountability, Just Blame

I was scammed and immediately contacted Twint to try and stop or reverse the transaction. Their response? “You authorized the payment, so it’s your problem.” No investigation, no empathy, no meaningful support—just a generic response.
Twint markets itself as a secure and convenient Swiss solution, but when it actually matters, they do nothing to help victims. If you’re vulnerable or misled, don’t expect any assistance. You’re on your own.
Extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and basic consumer protection.
Avoid Twint if you care about security or support.

The security of our users is a top priority for TWINT. Our systems are subject to strict security standards and are constantly being further developed to prevent potential misuse. We also work closely with our partner banks in order to be able to react quickly and appropriately in cases of fraud. We are not aware of any cases in which the TWINT app has been technically compromised or hacked. An unauthorised transaction via TWINT always requires the victim's cooperation by providing data or authorising the transaction. You can find the most important tips to protect yourself against this here: https://www.twint.ch/en/private-customers/support/security/twint-safely/?lang=en

We would like to examine your case in detail and understand it better. If you have been the victim of fraud, please contact the issuing bank of your TWINT app. You can find the relevant contact details here: https://www.twint.ch/en/private-customers/the-support-team/?lang=en

I am accepting payments via Stripe and a custom checkout page called Checkify. Twint works well for my e-comm business in such a combination: the store demonstrated proper sales and nice conversion in Q4 2024.

Terrible Service - Down During Lunch Again!

I'm beyond frustrated with TWINT! For the second time this week, their service went down right in the middle of lunch. It's ridiculous that a payment service can't stay operational during peak hours when people actually need it. I was stuck in line with no way to pay, and it was incredibly embarrassing.

This isn't just a one-time thing either. TWINT's reliability has been awful lately, with frequent outages and glitches. They also have poor customer support, and trying to get any help is a nightmare. Their app is slow, and half the time transactions don't even go through. For a country like Switzerland, we deserve a payment service that actually works. Avoid TWINT if you value your time and sanity!

Slow

Slow. Ridiculously slow for money to arrive. It would be faster to make a bank transfer. What's the point?

Scammer partner company

They basically sponsor scammers, easy to pay, impossible to get money back as they don't take any responsibility on the transactions, but charge a nice commission for them. I've requested my money back on a small transaction and nothing happened, as the authorities are useless as well, rather stay away from this scam! I'm cancelling my wife's and my account as well. Rather use credit cards for transactions, at least you have an insurance with it. With Twint, you are guaranteed to be scammed and abandoned. Beware of this, anybody can have an account from the moment you have a phone number and it is so easy to get an untraceable one. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS, I AM SURE THEY COLALBORATE WITH THEM TO GET MORE COMMISSION AND JUST DON'T CARE WHATEVER YOU SAY OR WANT, EVEN IF JUSTIFIED.
