AVOID

For many, Christmas is a time of reflection and looking back on the year just gone.

My reflection has been of a journey on which I deeply regret starting, with Car & Classic and especially Tuned Imports of Rotterdam which caused me a huge amount of upset and stress.

Whilst Car & Classic have eventually refunded my buyers premium, trying to get anyone there to act on my behalf was like walking through treacle, especially Richard Vine who had to be pressured into telephone calls as he only wanted to email and constantly reminded me I had accepted the car thus it was out of his hands.

Jos the owner of Tuned Imports is even worse. A man who only seems able to reply to emails at 2am, and finally ceased to answer any at all. Operating a very dubious business, he has been proven to LIE about the condition of the car he sells (I have proof of this as shown below).

When a fellow bidder asked specifically about there being any rust or corrosion the answer was
'Both the body and undercarriage are free of any rust issues'

This was the point I decided this was the car I want! I won the car and went over to pick it up, all the way from UK to Rotterdam.
The vehicle appeared to be in acceptable condition, and I was pressured by the employee Louis, to accept it as so on the car & Classic app, which means not only do I send the money, I pretty much loose any option to reject.
Unfortunately on return and having the car inspected by a reputable Mercedes classic specialist the reality was shocking. Massive holes abound, which means a bill of around £3500 to fix the car properly. Tuned Imports have no interest in paying the money and tell me in Holland this job is a few hundred euros! Yes it probably is when you operate a dodgy business selling dud vehicles.

After numerous emails to Tuned Imports they eventually agreed to allow me to return the car BUT still would charge me 9% for the export tax he paid. At this point the stress this has caused me has ground me down and I accept. But what a surprise when I give him some options for returning the car he yet again ignores my emails as does his employee Louis and even worse my new contact Max at Car & Classic.

I have a whole trail of emails I would be happy to share to prove this case, and most importantly I have screenshots showing the blatant LIE about the condition of this vehicle.

Ultimately my message is, AVOID Tuned Imports. They are a dubious business whom I could never ever trust. They take a small number of ‘lifestyle’ photographs which is around a third of the amount Car & Classic would take, and these photographs are a ‘lifestyle’ photo taken from a distance to avoid showing any detail.

AVOID buying a car from auction, unless you are 100% confident as to the description, and accept that especially in the case of Car & Classic that if you have pressed the ‘accept’ button you will have ZERO comeback and they really have no interest in acting on your behalf to act as mediators between vendor and buyer.

I have now had to keep the vehicle and will need to spend a minimum of £12000 to get it right.

Perfect experience at Tunedimports

I have been dealing with cars all my life and therefore I have a lot of experience with both good and bad companies.
I just bought an Excalibur by Tunedimports and I was a little nervous because there were a lot of bad recommendations on Trust Pilot ..... but I got a perfect car, incredibly good treatment from the staff ... today I picked up the car myself and got great help with loading the car, all the information was perfect ... incredibly friendly staff and service.
I would definitely recommend Tunedimports to all my friends and will definitely shop with them again.
Best Regards

I want to bring to your attention a fraud company

I want to bring to your attention a fraud by one of your sellers. The company Tuned Imports NL has sold me a 1971 Jaguar E-type a few months ago through your auctions website. The car arrive to Cyprus my country after months of delays. When i received it i found out that the radiator of the car has a huge hole on it and does not keep any water in. As a consequence the car cannot be driver at all. I attach some videos for you to review.
This has been the case despite assurances by the seller that the car was perfectly drivable and also no mentions at all the auction description about a serious problem like this.
Communication with the seller is also very difficult and slow, if any…

I strongly recommend that you do not accept any more cars from this seller. Myself i lost trust in your website and will think twice before bidding on any cars in the future.

This is a scam company

This is a scam company. Everything is lies. No paperwork, wrong discription . Car damaged. Can not register it. Only service key. No receipt for payment. Pain sunburned but covered with something on pictures. Engine smokin oil. Interior damaged. Can not register car for 13000€. Should be put in jail, maybe sooner than they think.

Bought a Mercedes-Benz SL500 from Tuned…

Bought a Mercedes-Benz SL500 from Tuned Imports via Car & Classic.

The car was advertised as having no mechanical faults, full service history, sevices carried out at a Mercedes dealer, and a Mercedes Datacard.

Before the sale, they repeatedly stated the car had no issues.

After my purchase, they admitted to certain faults, delayed delivery to “fix” them, and assured me all problems were resolved.

Yet when the car arrived after major delays, it had:
• A leaking roof hydraulic cylinder and a hardtop that won’t latch. They even sent a car to transport across half of europe with a hardtop barelly holding on.
• No full service history — only a generic Carfax with basic inspections, not proper Mercedes dealer records.
• No Mercedes Datacard at all.
• No sevices carried out at a Mercedes dealer.

They acknowledged prior issues but still sold the car as fault-free, and even after their “repairs,” major mechanical problems remain.

Communication has been slow, evasive, and with multiple missed calls and unanswered questions.

Avoid at all costs — misleading advertising, empty promises, and zero accountability. Worst car purchase of my life.

I bought an Aston Martin DB9 through…

I bought an Aston Martin DB9 through auction. The car arrived with the two broken fuel pumps. Once recovered after 6 months from Aston Martin, the car was tested by the official Aston Martin. Exhausted shock absorbers, spark plugs to be completely replaced, but the worst thing is the noisy engine and after checking a cylinder and piston not working. The entire engine block needs to be replaced. The car according to them was working. They are Bandits, do not trust them!
