Lovely food but beware of upselling
We had the early evening menu however despite booking this I was originally presented with the 5 course tasting menu which was double the price. It was a bit of a cheeky upselling tactic. I asked for the early evening menu and the waiting staff looked embarrassed.
The food was faultless. Soft shell crab was amazing as was the duck kebab.
My only criticism was the sommelier I'm sorry to say. I had asked for a wine pairing and maybe because I was distracted by all the amazing food that was arriving perhaps he mistook this for ignoring him which I'm sorry if that was the case. But after that he was just plain rude when I later asked for a dessert wine pairing he just set the drinks down and immediately walked off. Even when we were leaving everyone else said good bye but he just looked at us pass by and said nothing acting like a petulant child. I'm sorry but this is poor customer service and I'd expect better professionalism from a Michelin star restaurant even if he did feel slighted. It ruined a beautiful culinary experience. I would return as the food was lovely.
