So i made a booking at around 2am for stoke talke and the payment left my account but no booking confirmation. I have beem told it is a ghost payment because in the early hours of the morning is when they do maintenance on their website. I have phoned there bookings department who could not help me and there favourite phrase is sorry theres nothing we can do. All i wanted was my money back so i can book a hotel. Sent an email to there customer service team which says it takes up to 5 days for a response. I am a vulnerable adult with health problems and without a bes for the night i put my health at risk. I al 200 miles away from home and feel i now have no optiom but to sleep in my car. I have sleep apnea and need a machine for breathing when sleeping. I have been punished for travelodges mistake. Driving 200 miles home without sleep would be putting myself and other motorists at risk and the response i felt was they just dont care.

Poor customer service support

I am really disappointed with the customer service I received when trying to amend my booking. I called the hotel to discuss changing my stay dates and arranging an earlier check-in, but the staff member I spoke to was extremely unhelpful and came across as rude.

During the call, I felt like I was being rushed and was asked how long I was going to take, even though I was simply trying to explain my situation and get assistance. When I asked him to repeat himself because I couldn’t hear what he said, I heard someone laughing in the background, which made me feel very uncomfortable and disrespected.

Customer service is about being patient, understanding, and professional, especially when speaking with guests. It took a lot of courage for me to make that phone call, and unfortunately this experience has made me feel very put off contacting the hotel again.

I expected a much higher level of professionalism and was disappointed by how I was treated. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that staff are reminded of the importance of treating customers with respect.

Stole my money

Travelodge Tower Bridge. I have booked two rooms, one accessible and one double. We were going to visit London and stay overnight. The reason I chose Travelodge was because of their attractive prices. Little did I know that the prices are so attractive because they are non-refundable and non-amendable. Our disabled person felt very unwell on the day of the travel so we cancelled all our plans to visit the city. When I phoned Travelodge Tower Bridge and explained what happened and asked what options do I have I was told that the room booking is non-amendable and non-refundable regardless of circumstances. They literally stole my money. The result: a) a financial loss; b) I highly encourage you to stay away from Travelodge; c) this is how they make money - by having no empathy to their customers or flexibility in their rates they simply commit to stealing from you; d) if you have no option but to book with Travelodge then make sure that you can make your way to their hotel 146%. But to be honest you will be better off booking elsewhere.

I rarely leave negative reviews

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Travelodge's customer service and complaints handling.

This review is not about my stay at Newcastle Quayside, which was perfectly acceptable. It is about the way Travelodge dealt with an obvious booking error and the subsequent complaint.

I already had multiple rooms booked at the same Travelodge for the same weekend under the same name and email address. While adding one additional room, I accidentally selected the following Friday instead of the correct date. I realised the mistake immediately, telephoned Travelodge the same evening and was advised to contact Customer Services online, which I did straight away.

As I was travelling the following day with a group, I had no option but to book the correct room as well to ensure everyone had accommodation.

I fully accepted that I had made the mistake. I wasn't demanding that Travelodge ignore its Saver Rate policy; I simply asked whether, given the obvious circumstances, they would consider a one-off goodwill gesture.

Instead, I received a series of generic responses that simply repeated the Saver Rate policy. At one point, I was even sent an email apologising that I "didn't enjoy my stay"—despite the fact that I had never complained about my stay at all. It demonstrated that my complaint had not been properly understood.

After escalating the matter to the CEO's Office, they acknowledged that previous correspondence had been incorrect, apologised for the confusion and confirmed that my individual circumstances had been considered. However, they still refused to offer any goodwill gesture, despite accepting that the booking error was genuine and had been reported immediately.

What disappoints me most is not the financial loss but the complete absence of flexibility or recognition of customer loyalty. I have used Travelodge regularly over the years and had multiple bookings with them for this trip, yet that counted for nothing.

I appreciate that companies need policies, but good customer service also requires common sense and discretion in exceptional cases. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking here.

As a result of this experience, I have lost confidence in Travelodge and will be using alternative hotel chains in future. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Travelodge's customer service.

I'm appalled by the tax recovery…

I'm appalled by the tax recovery charges and service charges that Travelodge impose on their customers. These charges added an extra £100 to my booking!

Also the very small print they use on their website to tell customers about these charges is NOT adequate. It should be far more visible so that customers can make an informed decision BEFORE they book.

Then to find out that my booking was non-refundable was the final insult!

Travelodge treat their customer with disdain and don't deserve anyone's business. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM.

Pathetic customer service

I was booking a stay for the following day online and noticed it had put two people staying automatically, I went back once to correct and confirmed the payment.

Instantly I noticed the date had changed to two months down the line. Rung customer support and the hotel and was told despite I made this booking in error and the website glitched, I couldn't change the booking because I booked the non changeable option. I agree, non changeable for circumstances is what you paid for. I notified this error and raised it within a minute of placing. That is not the same thing.

Customer service has stood on these bookings can't be changed despite my explanation which is absolutely pathetic.

For the sake of £90 booking being corrected, I'll never use a Travelodge again, Thousands lost to a competitor.

Stayed at travelodge in raynes park

Stayed at travelodge in raynes park, great location for the aeltc community tennis club. Had booked for one night and once there, i wanted to stay for an extra night. The policy was i had to do this online and not in reception, but could pay for breakfast in reveption.. Free WiFi was only available for 30 mins, which I had already used. Extra WiFi would be £3.50 which was disappointing.
The lady Ana on reception was helpful during the booking

Travelodge - Camberley Surrey, next to Railway Station! - Very POOR.

So, my wife and I are regular stayers at one of the often very good Travelodge's around the Country.

Our three night stay at the Camberley in Surrey, Next to Camberley Railway Station, was an ideal location, with walking distance, for a weekend visit to a friends Barber Que.

This occasion proved to be a complete disaster! As it is a hot summer, there was no room air conditioning, you could NOT open the window more than three inches as the window is fixed by a secure wire, to stop you from jumping out, you suffocate instead. Even the toilet fan extractor did not work, so the room was filled with shower steam and poo smell. You only have a noisy fan whining away all night just moving stale air around. The room was small which was okay if ventilated properly.

Needless to say it was awful. We did tell the reception staff but they could not do anything. They did offer another hotel, but that meant additional expense and travel in a town we did not know. We came by train.

The idea of the secure widow is plain daft. You have to be over 18 to book the room!! There were plenty of other high buildings around if I wanted to jump off, but no, we have to near suffocate instead, I suppose it is less messy. - Let's open the damned windows for goodness sake!!

I do hope this is a one off as I like Travelodges and we have been to dozens now. - Oh, and another thing. Can anyone else get their app to work on their phones?? mine is totally useless, so I have deleted it, which is a shame as I'd like TL to know just how many times we have stayed.

Horrendous Customer Service

**Very disappointing handling of a straightforward complaint**

I’m extremely disappointed with the way Travelodge has handled a complaint following my stay at **London Manor House, 15–16 June 2026** (booking confirmation **180435079**).

I complained about holes in the curtains in my room. At checkout, I spoke directly with the hotel manager, who **promised me a complimentary night’s stay and specifically told me that it would be issued in the form of a voucher**.

Separately, Travelodge Customer Services offered me a complimentary breakfast. I was happy to accept that offer, but it was **not the compensation promised by the hotel manager**.

I subsequently opened a further Customer Services case (**15071-2905211**) because I had still not received the promised voucher.

On 30 June, Customer Services Advisor **Logan Goff** responded by referring me to the complimentary breakfast. I immediately explained:

> “Those are two different issues. The complimentary room was assured by the manager in the Manor House hotel at check out. I don’t want a complimentary breakfast. I want the free night’s stay I was promised upon checkout.”

On **13 July**, Logan then told me:

> “I have been emailing the hotel manager and I can confirm that this has been processed.”

Despite that, I received no voucher.

Now, on **4 August**, I have received essentially the **same response again** — that Logan has been emailing the hotel manager and can confirm that it has been processed. Still no voucher. Still no booking entitlement. Still no explanation of what “processed” actually means.

So I have now been told **twice** that this has been processed, while the compensation itself has never actually been provided.

I have been patient and have repeatedly explained the distinction between the breakfast offer and the complimentary night promised by the hotel manager. I should not have to keep chasing Customer Services for something they have already confirmed has been dealt with.

I have now formally escalated the matter to Travelodge Customer Services in writing, including both case references (**15071-2893547** and **15071-2905211**) and the full correspondence.

**Travelodge: I would simply like you to honour the commitment made by your hotel manager and provide the voucher I was promised.**

I would appreciate someone from Travelodge actually taking ownership of this and resolving it.

his is honestly the worst hotel I have…

his is honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

From the moment I entered the hotel, the room was unbearably hot. I honestly don’t think even hell could be as hot as Travelodge Woolwich. To make matters worse, there was no fan in the room. When I requested one, I was genuinely shocked when they brought me what looked like a tiny prison-style fan.

It is 2026, and I find it difficult to understand how a hotel operating to this standard is still considered acceptable. The room was uncomfortable, the ventilation was inadequate, and the overall experience was extremely disappointing.

As a Health and Safety practitioner, I would strongly recommend that the relevant local authority and appropriate regulatory bodies seriously inspect this hotel to determine whether it meets modern health, safety, ventilation and accommodation standards.

In my honest opinion, this hotel needs a major overhaul from the ground up. If the necessary standards cannot be met, then perhaps the building should be taken out of operation rather than continuing to accommodate guests under these conditions.

Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Room was disgustingly dirty

Room was disgustingly dirty, the walls, fittings, surfaces, cobwebs were hanging all around the room from the ceiling and walls and there was even toothpaste on the curtains etc. The toilet did not flush properly either. Sadly this site wont let me post pictures and travelodges response was... You booked a non refundable room so no refund. Totally disgusting repsonse. So they can charge £211 for the night and tough if its dirty and not fit for use. The health issues alone. That room has not been properly cleaned for months.

Travelodge Oldham Chadderton

Travelodge Oldham Chadderton

Was booked into this Travelodge by friends whom I was visiting from Solihull. They paid for early check-in. I arrived at approx 12:15 and was greeted by a "We'll be back in a minute" sign at reception, something that was used an awful lot here!
I was met by a cleaner (I think) who advised my room was not ready as previous guests did not leave on time, just what you want to hear after a 2hr 30 min trip from Solihull.
A further 5 minutes passed while frantic radio calls were made and eventually I was in my room. Very clean so no complaints there.
My friends had also paid for the "breakfast to go" so I duly went to reception in the morning to collect it.
The "We'll be back in a minute" sign was proudly displayed.
After waiting for 5 minutes, I was in it for the long haul until I gave up after 25 minutes waiting, with no one returning. As I did not feel this was an emergency, I did not call the number displayed.
I went back 40 odd minutes later, again waiting for a while before another cleaner (I think), begrudgingly fetched the box of "breakfast".
When visiting this area again, I will give this place a WIDE birth.
PS. Didn't eat the breakfast in the end as my friends took me to a fab place called Noa Eatery which I would highly recommend if you are in the area!

Had to cancel a room today

Had to cancel a room today, the only problem is the cost to cancel is 13pence a minute, one phone for 15 min
the other problem is i paid for my food upfront.
so a 74 year old lost the food money of £25.80 because i was sick. I expected to lose the cost of the room not the food that they have not even cooked
it’s a con you do not get a standard rate phone number to call Travelodge sent email to customer service and got reply saying we will get back to you in 4 to 8 days.
Look like I will be using Premium Inn in the future

Greedy!!!

I stayed at the Travelodge in Egham and was advised to book my room online. Unfortunately, I accidentally selected the wrong date when making the reservation. When I contacted Travelodge to request a refund, I was informed that the booking was non-refundable.
I find this unfair, particularly as the booking was made three weeks in advance. I would have expected some flexibility or consideration under consumer rights legislation. Refusing any refund or amendment in these circumstances feels unreasonable and gives the impression that the company is prioritising profit over customer service.

Booking process

Booking process is terrible.
Tried to book for one person
After confirming the booking I then received a confirmation for two. It wouldn't let me change it or cancel it. All phone numbers do not work so it was impossible to contact anyone. They have stolen my money.

What can I say - well checked in Friday afternoon for 2 nights went out Friday evening came back apart from no air con in the room an ok night’s sleep. Went out for the day Saturday had a lovely time seeing some sights and on our return about 10.30 pm Saturday evening left my partner in the bar whilst I went to my room to leave our shopping to find my key did not work returned to reception to find out why to be told they had checked us out and removed all of our belongings. When I asked why this had happened was told by a very rude receptionist ‘don’t know’ I asked for another room to be told they were fully booked so nothing was available. Asked receptionist to call the manager he said no, there wasn’t any reason why. We then had to find another hotel and get a taxi. I have emailed the customer service department and have not received a response I have also tried calling the customer service helpline but get no answer. The hotel chain is terrible and will never use them or recommend them.
Maybe they should send the staff in people skills training.
