a trading website with which it is impossible to communicate. they block the account and contact with the bot only. they send fake invoices half a year and do not read what is written to them. harassment with a false fact is not important to them. It's important that you don't want to pay.

Kicked off without question.with an outstanding item I paid $120 dollars for

I liked using tradera.after being overcharged for postage to australia on more than one occasion i refused to pay one seller for another case of overcharging me.i did the maths on these items and it came up short.he also SA I d he had a "duplicate advertising instead of the four trains I bought there was only three so he took that off shipping for me.??huh??why not just delete the DUPLICATE AD.without a question as to why I wouldn't pay him they booted me off..with an outstanding item that needs to be sent of OVER $120 aud...if you had of asked for an explanation as to why I wasn't paying him and another..who I pointed out was overcharging me for postage (then he changed it to a lower price)I simply would of told you tradera..overcharging for postage is a very common thing happening iT IS INFACT STEALING..AND I DONT SUPPORT THEIVES..Again am I wrong for not wanting to pay excess shipping??

Very bad customer support

Very bad customer support. They let people sell broken items with no protections for the seller. I am very disappointed. Ebay has a much more robust protection for buyers.

Tradera suddenly canceled my auctions and blocked my account

Out of the blue I receive an email regarding the auctions of my brand new phones being canceled/pending review.
Apparently someone reported the auction as counterfeit of something and Tradera needed me to prove that I have the product and I own it.
I prove my identity, prove ownership, and everything they asked for. But now that they are proven mine and original Tradera managed to find another rule that they break, even though I can't seem to find anywhere on their ToS page.
My auctioned item fails the 30-day money-back guarantee rule.

Meanwhile the same new sealed in box kind of auctions are happily online and don't get removed or flagged by tradera. Even the exact same device, why does my item break the rules but not the others?

It's incredible how you get treated by customer support, especially since you are the one paying them from the percentage they take from all auctions.

Edit: In response to Tradera.
You failed to notice I actually provided proof of ownership, IDs and of the products being original, bought on the original manufacturer website.
But now that it's not counterfeit, and I had proof of ownership, Tradera looked for another rule a that was preventing the product from being sold there.
Can you tell me how my product, new in box, is not allowed, after provide all relevant info but other exact same products in the same state are allowed.

Don't tell me to do what I already did. Thanks for nothing. And I'll use ebay from now on, they are more serious.

Most likely the security department cannot verify the authenticity and therefore the listing was shut down, a recommendation when selling more expensive branded goods is to include a picture of the label or receipt in the listing.

According to Swedish law, it is illegal to sell counterfeit items, this applies to everything from pirated games or movies to copies of branded clothing, bags and accessories. This also applies to bootlegs. This is why we also have this rule, as we want to maintain safety and security at Tradera.

Be careful and don’t trust Tradera

I’ve recently purchased something and even purchased extra Traderas buyer protection.. what a scam. It didn’t help me getting my money back, because I have missed some 10 days bullsh*** time. I never heard back from them neither do they assist me further. The customer support sucks and I am really disappointed after over 10 years of purchasing on Tradera. Stay away,
In the end you loose.

Register with Tradera is hell

I tried to register with Tradera as a Greek business, it is just hell. I sent them EU's link where they can verify my VAT + a screenshot. I sent them my ID card. They said that it is not enough, they asked for my driving license as if a driving license is more valid than the ID card. It is really the first time that I have to deal with a company that creates problems to get new customers, at least within EU. Tradera is not a recommendable company,

Bad Service and Website. Very disappointing

I created a tradera account yesterday (via googlemail) to bid on an item i was interested. I tried to fill out every form to make sure my first purchase there will be successful. But i couldn't find any web form to add my bank accounts. A bit weird but i made a test bid to see if it works and it did. When the bidding was about to close i was ready to add my final highest bid and was suprised that an error appeared "add debit card". Needless to say but i didn't win the auction. The link to "adding a card" didn't work too. I searched for hours to find where to add my bank details and found a link "activate tradera pay" which lead to my settings. However again there was another error "something went wrong" so i still was not able to make my account working. It seems the only way to contact tradera is via chat (no contact mail whatsoever) what i did during work because they have similar opening hours to my work hours. Unfortunately there were so many people in the chat and i was waiting for forever until the chat closed. Not sure if i want to repeat this procedure tomorrow. FOR TRADERA: Your website seems great but it's a major flaw not asking for bank details upfront while registering and the fact that i still cannot add them seems you have a few errors (that are essential!) on your website. Of course you displeased a customer too because i couldn't win the auction (would have paid thrice the final bid) and the whole experience so far leaves a bad impression.

Scam website that steals your ID

Scam website that steals your ID when trying to create an account.

I found an item that I was interested in bidding, but after creating an account I was told to contact customer support to finish up the account creation.

After contacting the customer support, they requested me to send my ID for identification so I dumbly complied.

Next day from sending my ID, they refused my account and refused to delete my information when I requested them based on my GDPR rights.

NEVER send your personal information to this service.

Worst support ever in 20 years of my using internet

I often used the trader and was satisfied until recently. I was satisfied with the things I found and bought there and with half of the sellers. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, I was not satisfied with the support, which almost does nothing to help. As a user of ebay for almost 20 years, as well as other platforms, I can say that this is a very bad platform in terms of customer support and protection, even though they even charge 5% extra for buyer protections. Since I always use paypal, I certainly had protection through it, but now they still charge for it, and not once did I manage to get my money back from support, but always exclusively from paypal. There are a lot of fraudsters, and I kept writing to support whenever I saw something suspicious and I didn't know what to do, because I didn't want to make a mistake. Almost every 10 purchases end up with the product I bought not being sent to me or not being packed well and getting damaged. Of course, I was always exclusively sent by the support to report paypal and solve it with them, they never even approved the refund themselves even though the seller did not send the goods and even though he was blocked and cheated 5-10 people besides me at that moment. I always had to go to escalate case to paypal, so they could assess if I should get the money. The highlight of it all is that I got banned, even though I have 150 successful transactions in 6 months. I manage to find out that my profile is being checked and they are looking for my documents, which I deliver to them the same day, so for almost 5 days without a reply to my email, I write every day to the support who can't do anything because they are not in charge of it, I get it in the chat an explanation that I need it, and a selfie to submit with the documents, although they never sent me an email with that, and I do it immediately, and I ask them to speed it up, they replied to my email then that they decided that my account would not be reactivated and that the decision is final and cannot be appealed. No explanation or anything. I ask them if I can close that account and open a new one, after which they get the answer that I can't, and that one person has the right to have only one account. Nothing, then we decide for my wife to open an account because she buys half of the things for herself and of course they block us immediately and even write in the chat that we are no longer welcome on traders. I have been actively using the Internet since 1999 and I have never experienced this anywhere. I can't believe that the trader company is the daughter of ebay and paypal.

When paying with PayPal, the buyer has a buyer's protection in the event that the item does not arrive or is not as described. It works very well when the seller himself has control over the goods and shipping, i.e. when selling from his own warehouse.
For a marketplace where individuals and small businesses sell, it is unreasonable for the marketplace, with its small margins, to compensate the buyer for problems caused by the seller. This is why e.g. Ebay charges an extra fee when paying with PayPal.

In the event of a dispute between buyer and seller, where the buyer has paid with PayPal, Tradera handles all communication between buyer and seller. Handling the handling is a cost in itself.
In the case of a refund to the buyer, it is Tradera that pays, not PayPal.
In addition to handling and refunding, Tradera is penalized by a fee from PayPal which in most cases is higher than the refunded amount.

We are a commercial company and must be covered for our costs.
With a fee of 5%, we cover almost the entire cost, but not all.
It is fully permitted, by PayPal and by law, for us to charge a fee for our handling and costs.
Unlike Ebay and many others, PayPal has been free on Tradera. It was natural as long as Tradera was owned by PayPal.
Since December 1, 2021, we are now an independent company that must be able to stand on its own two feet. Hence the change is coming now.

I completely agree with you that it should be voluntary for buyers to choose buyer protection. Therefore, we have set it up so that you pay 5% when you use payment methods where buyer protection is mandatory, e.g. for PayPal and Paynova (and in the future Klarna) but that with other payment methods, e.g. Swish, GooglePay, ApplePay and cards - you can choose for buyer protection if you want it. The price is then the same, i.e. 5% but a maximum of SEK 750. If you do not want buyer protection, you choose one of the later payment methods.

Tradera - professional fraud and scammer

Back in October as an Individual I opened an account and listed one used product -cloth on sale. At the time of registration the charges shown for listing and fee for selling on platform were very little. In a month period there was no viewing of the product but I recieved an invoice of SEK 115. I was highly surprised with the invoice but still paid it. I wanted to contact and inquire with Tradera about the charges but found it impossible to connect with them. Later, the product expired from the listing and off course it never sold but Tradera raised another invoice of SEK 295. I again failed to get through them and find any explanation from Tradera for this invoice. But this was not enough, much to my surprise they have filed a legal complaint against me with charge of SEK 860 for services and interest charges I availed on Tradera platform. Mind it I just listed a used product for SEK 150 which was never sold and I am asked to pay SEK 860. Now I have to go through the painful, cumbersome legal process to protect myself angainst thes fraud and scammer which I never in my dream expected it to be in a country like Sweden..

I am bitterly disappointed…

I am bitterly disappointed with Tradera. I bought and paid for an expensive item. Half an hour later, I tried to contact the seller to find that their account was suspended. I rang Tradera directly who (after a number of phone calls) eventually reassured me that the sellers account was suspected fraud, that my payment was frozen and wouldn't be paid to the seller unless they provided information to unfreeze their account (which was very unlikely).

The next day the money disappeared from being a reserved payment and became an official payment in bank account. I rang Tradera directly again, and to my horror they had allowed the payment despite the account being frozen.

Tradera lied to my face!

Tradera took no accountability at all for their actions. What's more, there is no way to speak to anyone other than the poor customer service rep who has to take the flack for there systems / colleagues negligence.

They told me contact the police. Which I did. It was the only thing I could do because this appalling company let me down. Big time!!! And so did the police it turns out.

The sellers account remains frozen and weeks later I have no item, and the fraudster has my money.

TRADERA DOESNT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS!

TRADERA CARES ABOUT MAKING TRADERA MONEY!

The world would be better place without such terrible companies who lack a moral compass.

I was scammed even though I had buyer protection!

I have filled an issue regarding an item not delivered. After 23 days of waiting, still no response from Tradera. I have lost quite a lot of money. And what more, I payed the 50 SEK fee for buyer protection! What a scam! Horrible experience, isn’t worthit. Ebay would solve the issue within a day. I want my refund!

Tradera a 2 faced eBay clone

Tradera was charming with their small business sellers, made several purchases from Canada at first. It all went well. Had no clue about these reviews and the existing problems. A better choice instead of eBay, ha ha. Which have been using since 2000 as buyer and seller. Ends up with choose you sellers carefully because their ratings are misleading. The practice of accepting your payment based on their invoice amount, then failing to ship till you provide more money is something USA eBay won't allow. I tried multiple times now to advise that I was willing to pay more if they would cancel and relist with higher amount, but no. The purpose is to keep your money and the goods. The constant Tradera Swedish emails that need to be translated are very annoying, then some sellers ignore yours, even if you have the courtesy of translating your English messages in Swedish.
It finally occurs you have stepped into a scam trap, familiar refusal to do anything, till I provide a negative review. Then by some miracle, the furious seller insists on my removing their poor ratings, and they will fix the problems. Refunds never to be seen till I do. If this company is an eBay business, why don't they have a half decent service rep service, proof of shipping, and put a limit to what sellers can do in Europe. Makes no sense.
After the Tradera reply I need to ad that contact is very difficult, there are no specific procedures for the situation I am in, you can report a paid and non receipt transaction but it is to a dead end email address, the phone and hours their service dept operates are in a time zone about 8 hours away which means during our night and early morning.
The actual help and contact effort is nil for us in North America. Too bad.

Had some ok experience with them before…

Had some ok experience with them before but it looks like it's becoming a scammers paradise lately so be aware.
And when you get scammed they literally not gonna lift a finger to help you out. That's just how they roll..
Customer support really depends of who you end up with, first time was at least polite but the second time i "got lucky" with a proper Carol Beer (if you watched Little Britain, you'll get it), so i ended up doing every little thing by myself, like figuring out that scammer's personal number (you need to have this if you wanna escalate via kronofogden).
So yeah, if it works it's ok, but if you get scammed you are on your own.
ps. tradera, please don't write me your generic answer, you guys just don't care. end of story..

I joined Tradera in August 2022 as a buyer and have got scammed twice since then, am I just unlucky, or is Tradera not safe at all?

The first time, I was a bit doubtful because the seller was new and did not have any reviews and the item was quite expensive so I added the buyer protection in the payment and 'luckily' I got refund. Turned out the seller was a scammer.

The second time, the seller had the profile up for 10 years with only good reviews and nothing seemed suspicious. I made the payment via Tradera and did not add the buyer protection. Then the person turned out to be a scammer and nearly 50 buyers got scammed (based on their negative reviews later on). I reported 'item not received' and didn't get any feedback, then I had to queue for more than 30 minutes to be able to chat with a customer staff, only to know that they would never refund just because I didn't buy the 'buyer protection'. What a ridiculous regulation! So this means that even when you get scammed on a supposed-to-be-safe website, you will never get your money back just because you don't buy protection!?

Buyer protection should only be for defective items, not as described items, issues with delivery, etc. NOT for when you got scammed and never receive the items! I don't bid and buy items on Tradera to be worried and insecure all the time, feels like I'm on a lottery scheme. This also means that the Tradera system is not safe, they do not have a good mechanism to verify a seller's profile with the correct name, ID, BankID, or even bank account.

And when I asked what would happen to the seller and about 50 buyers who got scammed, they replied that they took down the profile. So no criminal report to the police? no emails to all those buyers? no nothing? I cannot accept this irresponsibility. Then this makes no difference to Blocket or Facebook marketplace when buyers have to face similar scammer risks.

Last but not least, Tradera, if you want to make "buyer protection" primary/compulsory, communicate it better on your website, stating very clearly that you cannot manage to keep all buyers safe from scammers.

I am working with my bank and reporting this to the police to get my money back (more than 4600 SEK) and to raise this issue so Tradera has to find a much better solution to make them a safe site.

And I will never ever use Tradera again.
