TPS living in the dark ages!

Please read this, TPS! Tried to phone this morning as I sent my Transitional payment form in over a year ago and had no reply. After waiting 18 minutes being asked for SEVEN different proofs of identity, I was told that I could go no further a one was incorrect! (I had given the gross rather than the net amount on my last payslip!). What a waste of my and your operator's time. SURELY, they could tell me which of the 7 I got wrong and give a second chance!
Secondly, the reason I phoned was to enquire about my application as I have received no confirmation. If you are going to continue to sit on this issue (process began in 2023!) could you not at least send something confirming that you have received applications.
Finally, your complaints procedure; I just wanted you to know the above, but having spent time filling out your form, I realise that I then had to print it out and post it to you. Come on folks, it is 2026!!

Useless, did not take action with all info

Useless, did not take action despite all info they needed being provided. I recorded the details, researched the company behind the call, provided ALL the details they needed and yet again they failed to do anything.

"TPS has not been able to ascertain valid contact and/or address details to raise this particular complaint." This is my third identical email in recent months. It's automated.

If they cannot be useful they need shutting down. I complained to ICO about the call and complained to ICO about TPS being useless.

Very Poor Service

I have been registered for a long time now, but I am still being annoyed with scam calls . This service is a waste of time!

TPS is a data collecting scam

Guess what, TPS is a data collecting scam. Since giving these clowns my contact information to stop unwanted calls, over six months ago, the nuisance calls have greatly increased. Suspiciously I'm now getting masses of spam emails to the address I used for them as well. They are a complete fraud.

In my opinion, a waste of time

Ignore the bright spark that is taking this all so personally. The TPS had proved to be an utter waste of time.
I have been registered with them for 10 years and they still can't stop a nuisance call coming through, one after another.
I have found that the only company capable of doing this are Sky with their call screening service, it solved the problem of nuisance calls but as soon as I changed my provider, they have started up again, one after another.

Ignore brainless 1 star reviews

What are the brainless people giving negative reviews on here?
Are people really that stupid?
It seems they are!
The tps is for registering your number to hopefully get less nuisance calls. There's NO subscription, it is FREE, all the reviews about "profit" are nonsense, its a government organisation. The clue is is ".org'. Too complicated for most on here it seems.
I registered a month ago and my nuisance calls have definitely dropped..What's not to like?

Doing an important role

You add your phone to this list and it becomes a crime to cold call you. Some criminals ignore this, but they are committing a crime. This should get rid of 75% of bad calls. The tps isn't responsible for chasing bad callers - it is just a legal deterrent. So don't give bad reviews to tps - it's not a magic bullet but it helps

Hello, please can you spend time to your emploees training how to nicely unswer on the phone, today I had a very bad conversation with one Mr, 01.05.2024 19:15, rude, no listening, dissaopinted ofyour customer service! Finaly I paid 15£ instead of 35£ after my appel. The appel was oppened with the case of the penalty where they want to charge me for extra 8 min, I paid for 2h-120min but this 8 min for deparure they count in total 120 min unpaid. Bank transfer was porovided but still useless!

Toothless Tiger

Unfortunately toothless tigers. Still get calls through and pointless raising a complaint as you have to have gleaned so much information on the firm that called you. Even reporting the number and providing a name is a waste of time, so completely pointless complaining. Any funding they receive should be spent elsewhere on technology that works!

TPSonline

tried to register at the given address- unfortunately too comprehensive details given. Was advised id get a email to conclude- not received. I seriously think this is a scam site- simply collecting details to sell and should be taken down

Limited powers

Better than nothing but their powers are very limited. They have no control over the majority of spam calls that are computer generated.

My advice is to get a caller display and never answer any calls that you don't recognise. If you run a business that's not possible but a good rule for private number owners.

I found the TPS totally inept when I…

I found the TPS totally inept when I made a complaint to them.

I contacted them with the phone number, company address, time date, company number for the complaint and they replied saying “sorry we can’t find them”.

I made another complaint again explaining all the above, and they apologise.

They then call me by mistake asking if I was the company. I correct them.

I am then told “sorry we can’t make contact with that company they have spoofed their number and it was a scam”..

I instantly then call the number, that takes me to an agent who apologises for calling me to sell me things and states the day they called.

Why are we funding this company when it appears everything is in the to hard to do box, I went above and beyond with information but all I got back was scripted answers.

I don’t know what more they would like, maybe I could request the call centre conduct an open day; and I can invite TPS down there.

Didn't register my phone number.

Although I registered my telephone number at /register and confirmed the account via e-mail, /register/am_i_registered states that it is not registered. Additionally, because no formal account management system appears to exist, updating the e-mail address subsequent to registration is unintuitive.

Yet another call from UK call centre

Yet again received call from UK call centre this time saying part of a government scheme to enhance safety in respect of ensuring quick response of police, fire and ambulance (some hope). Calls for various reasons happen 2-3 times a week and they are NOT overseas scams. Those are on top. Also regularly getting calls about solar panels services from totally disconnected companies. Registered with TPS for years and regularly complained. They are useless. Totally toothless organisation.

If the government wanted a quick vote winner they would let the ICO take over this site and give it legislative teeth.

Other quick winner push through the stuck legislation on these pirate private parking companies

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews.
I was getting 5/6 scam calls almost everyday, even from numbers that I’d blocked on my phone.
EE recommended them to me and I’ve not had a single scam call since.
