Thomas has great info on all the sights but also gave great tips for navigating the city and getting us everywhere else on our trip. I can’t wait to see the photos! Our family of four with boys aged 12 and 14 loved the tour and highly recommend a tour with Thomas.

Perfect day at the Alhambra and Granada
Jose was a fantastic tour guide and very knowledgeable on the Alhambra and the city of Granada. He organized transportation from the cruise port and showed us the beauty and history of the Alhambra and the city. He also took us to a wonderful restaurant where we had amazing tapas. Perfect day!

Pompeii and Ephesus Tours By Locals
In June 2026 we took a Mediterranean cruise and used Tours By Locals for the first time and I can say both tours/guides were excellent. Communication prior to and during the tour was excellent and timely. Both spoke English very well and they were easy to understand. Tours were geared to our individual desires and needs and both were exceptionally knowledgeable. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again in future travels.

If in Santiago, hire Begonia!
My daughter and I hired a guide for a tour of Old Town in Santiago after our Camino walk. Begonia was delightful, knowledgeable and went above and beyond for us. She gave us historical context for sites around the Cathedral and we even got a behind the scenes tour of the Cathedral! We were flying out the next day and she arranged for a taxi pick up at our hotel, which we were grateful for. I highly recommend Tours by Locals and if in Santiago, request Begonia.

Get the lay of the land when you arrive in a new city

Brilliant day in Berlin with Jochen
We have booked ToursByLocals twice now, most recently with Jochen in Berlin. He was an excellent guide, so knowledgeable, keen and helpful, quick to respond to pre-tour questions and on the day very good - even down to making sure we knew the right platform for our train back to Hamburg. Yes, it is expensive, but you get to see sights, old photos and hear the personal stories that 'ordinary' excursions don't provide. We highly recommend.

Maria took us to an amazing volcano…
Maria took us to an amazing volcano park and was very flexible when we wanted to stay longer in certain areas than others. The scenery was amazing. The foot baths were very special. The transportation was new and very clean. Maria's English was perfect and she was informative, friendly, and flexible ( as was the driver).She helped my son learn about the haiku poets and shrines we ran into at the park ojizosan which was really excellent.
