Horrible Experience with Top Gear.

We purchased a Citreon C4 on 19/7/24 from top Gear car sales. The salesman promised it would get the once over and valeted. It was picked up 2 days later by my granddaughter. It hadn’t been checked over nor cleaned. My granddaughter was on her own when she collected the car as we were away for 2 days. The car started shuddering every time she put it into gear or slowed down. We had it serviced and it showed that the clutch was at a high point. The garage that serviced the car told us to take it back to Top gear and tell them you expect them to put the clutch problem right as the clutch needs to be looked at urgently and because we had only had the car for 2 days when we realised there was a problem, which started straight after collection. A salesman at Top Gear told me on the phone that when we took it back they would get it examined by an engineer to check out the clutch. Today Wednesday 31/7 The salesman
got into the car after we explained the problem and drove at speed round the block and said the car was not juddering and that there was nothing wrong with it. He spoke in a way that made us feel he thought we were lying and blamed it on our granddaughters driving. He was not interested at all in getting it checked over like we were promised, The salesman was not interested in what was written on the service sheet. he insisted there was nothing wrong with the car. He then walked back onto the forecourt.
He left us feeling hopeless and upset. The garage that did the service was a reputable garage and wrote out the problems on the service sheet provided. We are now left with a car that we have just purchased in good faith and trust and that needs more money spent on it rather than the garage carrying out what was promised. It’s going to cost us £600 to put the problem right that after paying out over £7000. In the circumstances I cannot
recommend Top Gear Car Sales. I would hate anyone else going through what we have experienced.

Buffoons

Top gear used to be a car show with some humour, but mostly it was about the cars.
Top Gear is now clearly aimed at children.
It is infantile.
Chris Harris is very knowledgeable and occasionally does a very good presentation, but largely they all act like complete buffoons, and the show is largely irresponsible. I can't believe the BBC let this go on.
