AVOID- Purchased our first and last…

AVOID- Purchased our first and last motorhome. Problem after problem. Had to use solicitors to try and and get a refund as it broke down the day we purchased it. 2 years and 1 week later we received a very reduced refund. There tactics were to say we were sabotaging the vehicle. Maybe because we were female they stated we had put water in the diesel tank !! Even a woman knows where the water goes and where the water tank is. If you want to waste 40K and very expensive solicitors fees then visit Timberland, would be easier to just burn your money to keep warm.

Plenty of choice of Campervans for us to spend as long as we wanted to decide what was suitable for us. The salesperson was extremely helpful and patient.
All in all, a good experience resulting in us purchasing our second van.

GIVE TB MOTORHOMES ACWIDE BERTH.

Earlier this year (Feb) I was trying to sell my 2022 caravan, a guy representing TB Motorhomes came and valued my caravan. On arrival he went inside and straight to the back of the van and said it was damp. He showed me, he was using a pinless reader which was reading 99.9!. His reader was held upright and not flat on its back.
The trade value of the van was £15000 to £15500. Because of damp he offered £13000. The van wasn't damp and had a true reading of 10.5 per cent. We'll within industry 12 per cent.
The smart Alec is a con man, avoid this company like the plaque.

My Experience with Timberland

My Experience with Timberland - A Real Customer's Journey.

Like many motorhome enthusiasts, I was excited when I first walked into Timberland to purchase my new home-on-wheels. Connor, the sales representative, greeted us warmly and showed genuine enthusiasm while showing us around. The initial experience felt promising - you know that feeling when you think you're in good hands?

The Good Bits:
I have to give credit where it's due - the sales team is genuinely friendly, and when things later went sideways, they did try to help. They even went as far as shipping parts to me so I could attempt fixes myself, which shows some willingness to find solutions.

Where Things Went Wobbly:
Collection day was where my excitement started to fade. You know that sinking feeling when you realise things aren't quite right? Confirmed accessories were missing, and what should have been a thorough inspection felt more like a quick once-over. Getting home only to discover issues with the toilet, water getting in where it shouldn't, and temperamental heating was, honestly, pretty disappointing.

The Real Challenge:
The next few months tested my patience. Nine weeks without my motorhome having been returned to the dealer (which any enthusiast knows feels like forever), unclear updates, and some information that, let's just say, didn't quite match reality. When the motorhome finally came back still carrying one of its original problems, their suggestion of getting an independent inspection felt like passing the buck.

What I Wish Had Been Different:
For anyone considering Timberland here's my honest take - they're not bad people, but they seem to be missing some crucial elements that make a great dealership:

1: A bit more empathy would go a long way
2: Following through on promises should be standard
3: Technical know-how needs strengthening
4: Clear, honest communication is essential

The Silver Lining:
The team is friendly, and I believe they want to do better. When they did try to help, you could see the intention was there, even if the execution wasn't perfect.

Would I Recommend Them?
That's a tough one. I'd say do your homework, ask detailed questions, and make sure everything is documented. Your experience might be different from mine - after all, buying a motorhome is a personal journey.

Remember, this is just my experience - one story among many. The team at Timberland has the foundations to be great; they just need to build on them a bit more.

Final Thought:
Buying a motorhome isn't just about getting a vehicle - it's about investing in adventures and memories. While my journey with Timberland had its bumps, I hope sharing my experience helps others make an informed decision about their own motorhome dreams

Rip off merchants

Absolute rip off merchants!

The sales guys here pulled my pants down and did they see me coming?

Yes they absolutely did.

Firstly the it turns out the van was grossly over priced and not worth anywhere near what I ended up paying for it.

Not to my knowledge the van was over the standard weight for a standard cat B licence yet the van weighs over 3.5 tones.

The sales man "Matt" took a look at my licence and said I was able to legally drive the van on my Cat B licence.

Knowing full well the van was a cat C which he never informed me off, so I have illegally been driving the van for 9 months, voiding my insurance and potentially if pulled over by the police getting a hefty fine, the van being impounded or being disqualified all together from driving.

On the the van itself, lovely on the inside I can't fault that but the van did have a power steering malfunction which we where never informed about until we had it checked ourselves.

This was something that had been flagged on the previous MOT which they have hidden from us.

The hand over on collection day was very short and we gained no knowledge of how things worked, in particular the electrics and heating.

The hand over guy was more interested in telling us and showing us photos of a VW Beetle he had restored, which I couldn't have given a monkeys about.

On collection day we where told the van had 2 sets of keys and one had been left in the glove box, it only had one key there was no spare, we told them about that and they said they had left it in the van "another lie".

I asked for a reverse cam installed at £900 which was absolutely terrible and upside down so you had the flip the screen!

The sales team where very pushy, they offered me peanuts for my VW transporter so I sold that my self.

Once these people have taken your money they don't want to know, there is little to no aftercare at all.

When I was informed I shouldn't be driving the van by my garage I phoned the sales team to let them know they had illegally sold the van to me and they didn't want to know.

I have had to sell the van now via a broker which was very good, a lot more professional and trustworthy than this set of clowns.

Yet they have pestered me for a review "So here it is your getting a w**k one".

Stay well clear people this company is not to be TRUSTED.

A very expensive mistake.

Saw an ad on Autotrader that was live

Saw an ad on Autotrader that was live. So I drove to the
place in question. Only to see it with a sold sign on it. Salesman came out and I said I drove to see the car/motorhome. No apology that they didn't turn the ad off to say sold! Very easy thing to do, I know I would have on my sales.

Collection of new motorhome

We’re on our way to collect our new motorhome and are being kindly collected at the train station by Timberland Motorhomes. To date we have been kept very well informed of the progress and upgrades and communication has been polite, friendly and efficient. We are looking forward to our hand over and will give a further review on how that goes and our experience with our new Burstner Elegance Motorhome.

Wonderful after sales service

I bought my motorhome from Timberland in January 2024. Julian was extremely helpful and the transaction was perfectly smooth. The handover was very thorough but there were a few things I forgot, so many things to remember and some of the details left my head.
I have called in to see them on three occasions now, not with faults but with queries, like how do I turn the heating on, how do I get hot water from the boiler etc, and my visits have always been greeted with a warm welcome, perfect advice and a very friendly chat.
I called in again today to look for a motorhome for a friend. I have told my friend and everyone I know to only buy a motorhome from this place as I have found their after sales service to be absolutely terrific and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
The whole team made the experience a pleasure, their follow up calls to make sure I was happy with my purchase were most welcome and I cannot fault them.

Ghosted by Mat

Was gutted to be writing this really as their sales pitch was great and very attentive and helped answer all our questions. We took a 9 hour round trip to see the van and agreed to put a holding deposit on it so we could take the weekend to decide. When we decided to put our purchase on hold to save a little more, we asked for our deposit back from Mat, the sales rep and we were ghosted! Not a single reply! Ended up having to go through to finance over a week later to get the money back! I was really disappointed with this but glad it happened before I agreed to purchase a van and not after. I still liked the van and it wasn’t a definite no at the time but it is now after being ignored once he knew he wasn’t getting a sale…

Great serviceWe took our motorhome to Timberland

We took our motorhome to Timberlands, wanting a quote for 2 new taps. We ended up putting a deposit down on a new burnster. This is the second motorhome I have purchased from Timberland in less than 10 years. Matt was extremely helpful, and friendly, he allowed us time to look in detail around the new van,on our own, and all our questions were answered. We have also been given a great part exchange price for our 13 year old van. The staff have pulled out all the stops to get our new van registered and the extras we required fitted to the van so that we can take it with us on a holiday that had already been booked. When we collect the van on Friday, it will be just 14 days since we agreed the purchase. Throughout the last 10 days we have recieved updates on what is happening and at no time has anyone used high pressure sales tactics. So far the experience we have had with Timberland has been very efficient and easy. I will post again and let you all know how the transfer goes.

Brilliant service

Brilliant service whilst purchasing and as well as aftercare. We came to view several motorhomes to get a feel for the different types we might like, then returned several weeks later and purchased a motorhome. They were so accommodating and not at all pushy on our visits. They just wanted to provide us with a van that met both our needs as mother and daughter buying together. Highly recommend. Lovely selection of vans for multiple price ranges. Thanks Emily and Cath

Do not trust this company

Do not trust this company. Im in dispute with them over a 2000 pound deposit we paid for a new motorhome that was due to be delivered in June, now they say July. We left a deposit on the understanding that it would be returned if my partners operation was to have ongoing treatment which unfortunately it is. We took Tony by his word. Now Lee is saying we havent got a leg to stand on. absolutly awefull customer care at a very stressful time in our livesx
