I have never had a problem with Thistle. If there is an issue, they correct it right away. Customer service is great, and I really enjoy using a place that doesn't send my food in gigantic boxes for the recycling bin. My only wish is that they would make some meals that have no oil or barely any oil. I eat whole foods, plant-based, and try to avoid oil. I cook this way every day. It is possible to make great dressings without oil. Tahini, cashews, and sunflower seeds are all great bases for oil-free dressing.

The food is good but almost all main course dishes, no matter the variety of ingredients, taste the same. This seems to be because GARLIC is in every single dish and/or sauce. I personally can not eat garlic without feeling bad afterward. Thistle, please diversify your seasoning! Garlic is not necessary to make a dish delicious.

Thistle has delicious ingredients and I always feel like I am eating food made with care that has been thoughtfully created. I appreciate the dressings so much so that I wish they would bottle them and sell them. I feel clean and healthy when I am eating it regularly and I have no inflammation. Unlike what can happen when eating store bought ready made food.

I love Thistle and have been ordering it for the guts of a year now. The meals are healthy and tasty. I love the vegan option, ensuring I get a good variety of vegetables in my diet, and that we can customize our meals. They have been reliably delivered to me on time and have helped immensely by taking meal prep and planning off my plate during the week. I highly recommend Thistle!

I've been using Thistle on and off for over two years and really love the food. I would get in more frequently if they finally implemented more sustainable packaging than plastic. They have been calling it a priority for years but I've not yet seen any change so continue watching and waiting.

I don’t usually like “healthy” food but somehow I actually like most of the food Thistle makes. Helps me get some necessary nutrients I wouldn’t otherwise.

I love Thistle! The food is so delicious and healthy. I especially love the hot stir fried meals with creative sauces, my husband loves the salads and my daughter loves the smoothies. I’ve been a subscriber for several years and highly recommend.

Food quality and variety are excellent. Deliveries are reliable, customer support is very prompt and generous. Would recommend for anyone looking to save time and stress of choosing or preparing meals on a daily basis.

Annual BF promo allows us to save even more on top of bulk ordering, so the price becomes more palatable. I sometimes get tired of eating so many beans and chickpeas but they do a great job of introducing new flavors and fresh ingredients with each season. I have a handful of favorite dishes that show up repeatedly and keep me on my routine, but also notice their commitment to growth and reducing their carbon footprint which means a lot to me as a customer.

The reason my husband and I joined Thistle's delivery service program three years ago and have used it every week since (!) is still the reason why we stay – because having a team of nutritionists decide what and how much I should eat (vegan optional diet here) takes the stress out of deciding what to have for lunch and dinner, and simplifies my food prep/cleanup burden immensely. We even got my sister to join from NYC :)

I tried several others like factor not enough food and after heating was very dry. I decided to try thistle and so happy with the service. Chose only plant base dinner after heating up very flavorful and even cold dishes are amazing. Very organized deliver and many options on plant based something factor does not have.

Thistle makes it very difficult to cancel your subscription. Once they have your credit card, Thistle will continue to charge your card. Thistle sent information at 11:00pm on how to cancel by 11:59pm, as if anyone is up reading Thistle is mails at night. Although I sent screenshot of cancelled message, Thistle continued to charge card and didn’t issue a refund.

Apparently when you sign up on a weekend you are unable to customize your meals which is important when you are spending a lot of money for these meals. So I signed up (you have to provide your credit card info before you pick your meals) and then I wasn’t able to customize. I email customer service and they were like “sorry but thanks for your feedback”. I also find their website to be purposefully confusing and deceiving.

I just got my first delivery and it has been really helpful and better than expected. I am in school and have been spending a LOT on groceries and then getting too stressed and busy to make food so I end up ordering take-out and eating really unhealthy meals and spending even more money, way more than I would like to. I really like the meals in my first order. They have been healthy, tasty and meet my dietary restrictions (I cant eat gluten) and I found out they give students a 10% discount so I just signed up for that. I used to get the meal kits from Green Chef but I just do not have the time or energy for that so the pre-made meals are really the way to go for me. If my experience changes I will revise but so far it has been better than I had expected. My delivery came on time and it was really clear when they were going to arrive. So, so far so good, fingers crossed it stays that way.

I was disappointed to discover that Thistle, a brand claiming to offer healthy meals, cooks most of their dishes in rice bran oil, which is NOT a healthy option. 👎🏼

I was a thistle customer for 2 months -- The meals were great, ordering process was easy, and at a great price -- Delivery is where the major issues came in, and this is why I ended up cancelling my subscription. On the first order, my meals were left outside on the street in a busy city, even though I asked for them to be left inside. The top to one of the meals was open, so I wasn't sure if someone had gotten into it and needed to throw it out. I messaged support, and they said they would work with their delivery team. Delivery 2, delivered outside in the rain, against my instructions. I wasn't home, and would have buzzed them in had they called. Instead, my bag sat outside in the rain for hours on a busy street. Delivery 3, they finally delivered to my apt door, but I had left my old bags cleaned out and ready for thistle pickup/recycling, I found them outside thrown in the trash by the delivery driver... I am big on the environment, so the idea that the driver just tossed them was annoying. Delivery 4, the meals were left right inside the door, dead center in the middle of a busy common area, one of my neighbors ended up texting me that people were tripping over the bag, when i explicitly asked for it to be dropped off at my apt door. I emailed support after every one of these issues and they were never able to resolve it so I canceled.. Great meals, but they really need to work on their delivery service, beware.

Our first delivery was today. Shortly before 10:00 pm (!), the delivery allegedly made to our apartment. In reality, the Thistle map indicated it had been dropped off at an unknown location in a townhouse development several blocks away with street numbers about twice the size of ours, as well as being on a different street. Customer service provided a photo that was useless for identifying the house it had been dropped off at, and by the time we looked at every one of the ~100 town homes in the freezing rain, the food was nowhere to be found. As if it is our job to spend close to an hour looking for food we paid for. . . Moreover, customer service merely decided to credit the account, without providing the missing food. Go elsewhere if you prefer a delivery service that is reliable and caring.

The meals are pretty good, but several times I have been expecting delivery only to be messaged that the delivery will not be happening. I depend on these meals each week and am not happy to find out at the time of delivery that the meals are not coming. There is no human at the call desk...you need to leave a message and wait for a call back and no one answers texts in a timely manner.

TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Received text that my order was one stop away, 30min later received text that they were unable to complete my delivery. Immediately emailed customer service and received a response less than an hour later that my account was credited $84 for my next order. I replied that I wanted a refund (tried calling as well but they don’t answer the phone, you can only receive a call back which I doubt I will receive) and while waiting for a response I ordered groceries through door dash.

Three hours later the Thistle order shows up, now I have groceries that I ordered and this food. I am a single person and will not be able to eat it all before it goes bad, which is a HUGE waste of money.

NOTE: If you cancel your subscription you lose any credit on the account. Which I did since the delivery was made I chose to cancel and be rid of this horrible service with shady business practices!

the meals are bland and simple. The amount of 3 ingredient "salads" I got is crazy. Over $13 for a bowl full of spinach (which is so cheap) and a few shreds of boiled chicken is just not filling or interesting. I was always adding things to spice them up, but for that price?! Out of all of their dressings, I've only had 2 that were good. All the other ones were so bad. They make weird meals like banana and tahini muffins which I decided to give a try because it would at least be edible right? Wrong! It was absolutely the worst tasting thing I have aver eaten in my life. But they don't even refund you for meals you don't like so it's basically "you try our food experiments at your own cost" I ended the subscription because for 6 days of only breakfast, dinner, and dessert it is over $200. For some mid food? No thanks. The meals are honestly so basic, I was always thinking "maybe I missed something in the box". I'd recommend Factor or Cook Unity instead. They have better customer service too.

To make it worse, they say that they refund for issues with the order, not for taste. But they won't trust you if you tell them anything. I got a bibimbap bowl and it was completely dry even though it said it came with sauce and I got an egg scramble that literally tasted like it had gone bad. I asked for a refund and they told me that they "appreciate my feedback". I asked for a refund and she said that she checked with someone and they said there was sauce in it. So she refused to give me a refund because she doesn't believe that I am telling the truth. So even if you do have an issue with your order, you won't be getting a refund. So try at your own risk

The food is good but the delivery is completely unreliable. Last week it showed up a day late which resulted in an entire day of wasted food. This week I got a message Sunday evening at 9:15 PM that meals weren’t going to be delivered. I didn’t get to go grocery shopping or plan meals for the week. I don’t have time to go during the week. This also happened twice to a friend of mine who I referred to Thistle. Again, the food great, but if you are looking for something reliable I would not recommend this company.

Overall the food was good, but there are major issues with their website that result in you receiving food you didn’t order or deliveries you held. I’ve seen others online say the same thing and I’m concerned this is intentional and fraudulent. The first time I’d held deliveries and they re-appeared on my account, I chalked it up to a one-time error. However, this happened EVERY time I logged back into the website—all future deliveries I held were rescheduled. This feels very suspicious to me.
