Put my watch in to Tag in Glasgow to get a service and some repairs and fit a new battery and seal
Sent it away and got it back and was told the parts were now obsolete and they didn’t even put a new battery and seal in it
Took it to John at the Watch Lab
He fitted a new battery and seal and checked the workings of the watch and tried to fix a small problem with it
Watch now working and a 3rd of the price Tag we’re going to take to not even try to fit a new battery and seal

Emporio Armani watch taken in as long hand was fixed at 12 o'clock. Watch was initially checked and as initial inspection showed further investigation was required. We returned a coupke of hoyrs later and were advised it was the mechamism thst needed to be replaced and the watch would need to be sent away. The work did take longer than originalky quoted (5 weeks) but on collection was very pleased with the result. All staff in the store (Manchester Arndale) wete friendly, approachable and helpful. I was also reassured that The Watch Lab is part of the Timpson Group. I woukd highly recommend.

Paul in the Glasgow Buchanan Galleries store was superb. I popped in having lost a pin from one of the links in my watch and the glass on the front had fallen off.
Paul very kindly fixed it for free whilst I waited. Had a few batteries from the Watch Lab over the years, but now wont go anywhere else.

Took an Asprey Chrono Automatic for a service to CARDIFF(1387) branch on 16 Feb.2026. Quoted £250 to service, plus if parts required I would be contacted with revised price. £25 deposit paid. The Manager,Jag, did not know the brand and when I mentioned that their on-line Advertisement showed that a ROLEX could be serviced/repaired he told me that was not correct.
I subsequently received a message from the Workshop Team telling me the service price was now £395. I explained what I had been told by Jag,at Cardiff-only to be told to take it up with him!
Today,11 Mar 2026,I collected the watch, and when I asked the name of the young man at St David's Arcade,Cardiff, he took off his name tag and would not give me his name!!. I am sure Sir W.J.A.TIMPSON CBE( a Director) would be disappointed with this incident.

Great service by the Watch Lab replacing batteries in two watches with one requiring an extra repair on opening the back. Service was great, clear expectations on what work was needed by Sarah and completed in timeframe given. Would definitely recommend based on my recent experience of using them.
