I did an online form to get an…

I did an online form to get an appointment 2 weeks ago, had an email to say would get an appointment when one was available. If things got worse I should let them know. I sent another one a week later saying it had got worse and as I couldn't speak to anyone had self diagnosed and was adjusting my medication myself. Had receipt for form but nothing else. Next day went in saw receptionist she said she had patients waiting much longer than 2 weeks to be allocated an appointment, I dread to think what month that would be in
She could see my first form but not the 2nd one clearly someone did not want to.put that on the system. I told her I was adjusting my medication and asked her to update the system with it. This is ridiculous I don't know what's going on there and given this situation why are they still taking on new patients

I don't have the words for how poorly run this practise is . No matter how ill you are it dose not seem to make an ounce of difference.
There go to is "ring 111" or " go to A&E".
If you are thinking of registering with this surgery please don't you will regret it . The majority of the week there is 1 doctor on ! They do not give a dam and I speak from experience !!

Our Covid Injections

As two OAPs we attended the surgery for our spring Covid injection. It was very well organised with the minimum of waiting time. The staff are kind, helpful and very friendly. We appreciate this.

Hopeless service

After trying to get through on the phone, to no avail I visited the practice .Reception was empty , I asked why it was empty & was told the receptionist had gone up stairs to do something.2 more came in & left in the meantime. After waiting 20 minutes I left. I could not get any joy on the app as it kept saying my log in details were not correct. After ringing for a further 10 minutes despite being no 1 in the que ,a doctor answered asking me why I was ringing on a line he was using for patients. I said I pressed N03 for general enquiries, He then said what's going on ? Someone will ring you back -No one has done so !

Shelley and Ben are the best!

Shelley and Dr. Ben are amazing can’t speak for anyone else that works there because the majority of them have let me down multiple times but Ben and Shelley are helpful, considerate and care for their patients.

The nurse doesn’t care patient’s feeling. Went to see nurse for blood test and talked to her how I missed last appointment. She put it in the notes said I complained without thinking it’s my own fault. Actually she became angry and said she had no time to discuss it. Just wanted to do the blood. I asked if I can write the suggestion to have mobile text sent the day before like used to. She said I am going to complain again. What horrible nurse.

Absolutely amazing service

Absolutely amazing place & by far the best surgery I've used! Every member of staff I've dealt with have been extremely professional, friendly, very helpful, and very good at their job! I'm usually seen within 5 or 10 minutes of arrival and never have any problems getting an appointment. I really cannot praise this place enough, and absolutely recommend them! Thank you!!

Near fatal diagnosis

After 48 hours no food or water, with continuous diahorrea and sickness, a blood sugar level of 26+ my wife rang a nurse who told here to take dioralyte leave it for a few hours and it will go away.
Even someone with no medical training would have known this is more serious than the norm.
After sitting with my wife, it was obvious something was seriously wrong, I called an ambulance, they said they would be 10 hours.
So as a family we got her downstairs and into my car.
After arriving at the George Elliott hospital, she was taken to ICU, I was told she would have died that night if she had not gone in, here glucose levels were zero, she was in ketosis, your fat turns to sugar hence why your sugar levels stay high.
The nurse should have known this, but for some reason the staff at this surgery are hiding behind covid and the care has gone.
Today after ringing the surgery for four hours, we decided to drive there to ask for a sick certificate as she urgently needs it for work as she is still weak, she was abused by the receptionist for not ringing, which she did, very upset she left after the receptionist finally said she would past the message on to a doctor.
Guess what, she went home early and no message was sent, this is beyond poor.

Appalling abuse of position

Appalling abuse of position. This surgery has started to issue prescriptions to me without consultation or consent. I am 64 years old and they have decided I am at risk so started to issue prescriptions. I am fortunate that I have not been to the doctors for three years so this prescription for statins was made without knowledge of my cholesterol levels, blood pressure, any blood test etc, etc. but in doing so this increases my premiums for travel insurance, life insurance etc but they are not bothered about that. I only discovered this when I went to pick up a prescription for my daughter. They say they thought they were acting in my best interests and if this had been based on sound medical evidence I would agree, but to go behind my back and just prescribe drugs without asking seems very wrong. I have asked them to amend my medical records so it reflects the actions they have taken and they will not. I have asked one last time and if I cannot get a favourable reply I will have to take the matter up with the GMC.
