Discrimination

My wife had a phone call with one of the lady from recruitment and did receiving an unexpected answer from her as not British born in this country and cannot help her to find a job. I believe this is a big discrimination as we been contributing to this country for 16 years and we had all kind of jobs without any problems so far. Her response left us speechless and do not know how people can use this agency when them response comes with a big racism answer. Not recommending this agency at tall to be used.

Stay clear just another con agency

Had an interview about two months ago Theo James never got back to me still waiting blaming the client for not returning. Spent money, time and effort to attend interview and they couldn’t be arsed to reply still keep blaming the company for not replying. Don’t waste your time with yet another agency.

I worked for Theo James for 4 months…

I worked for Theo James for 4 months between June 2021 and October 2021.

I left a long standing job of 5 years to join them. It all seemed fantastic at the start.. unlimited commision, great hours, great rewards.. who doesnt want that? I had no experience within recruitment and I went through a very long and gruelling interview process. 5 stages with several different tasks involved.

After some time in the office it quickly became the most stressful and pressurising job Ive ever had in my life.

There was little to no training.. you just got got given a laptop and had to watch videos and join web seminars.. they didnt really teach me what recruitment was or how to be a recruiter. I was thrown massively into the deep end on day one. I got given a list of questions and was told to ring Engineers and ask them those questions without fully understanding what I was doing.... how is that a way to find decent candidates for the available roles..?

One thing in the office that kept my anxiety on a high was their punishment wheel.. it was supposed to be fun and games but I didnt see it this way and neither did others in the office which I came to learn about. Basically if you did something incorrect on the system a few times (that you didnt have proper training for) you would have to spin the wheel. Some of the punishments on there are to stand for an entire day at your desk, wash the directors car!! And stay back on your own on a Friday if everyone got to finish early. These were just a few of them. They did have a reward wheel too so Ill give them that but I found the punishment one absurd.

The director of the company took me on a little walk around the building once I had been there 2 months and basically said he wasnt sure about me and wasnt sure I had what it takes. But surely a recruitment company thay dragged me through such a long interview process should be experts at hiring the right staff? Right? While I was they sacked a lovely girl after 3 weeks. They told me stories about sacking other people because they just didnt meet their high and unrealistic expectations. Since I left Ive have come to learn that at least another 4 members of staff have also been sacked or left quite quickly which confirms a pattern and not a good one.

I decided to leave after finding a new job before they could get rid of me. I worked so hard when I was there despite my mental health taking a mssive plunge. Ive always worked to a high standard in every job ive been in. In my new current role Ive already had a promotion and pay rise due to my strong work ethic because Im now in a healthy working environment.

I also didnt like how they spoke about other recruitment companies and candidates. They treated people likes numbers and they put on an act. This was something I couldnt do.. On my last day I told a candidate what one of the staff members did that lost this man a great opportunity.

Id also like to add that because I left.. they refused to pay my commision that I worked hard for. This was around £1500-£2000 .. I was going to take them to a smalls claim court because I didnt feel this was right but I dropped it as I my mental health wasn't strong enough to take it all the way.

I would advise in my opinion to avoid working for this company and for all engineering and manufacturing companies to also avoid using their recruitment services. Its a toxic environment and how can you trust a recruitment company to find you good candidates if they cant retain their own staff.
