The Mulia Resort claims to be a 5 star…
The Mulia Resort claims to be a 5 star resort. Unfortunately a false claim indeed.
This is now 2025 and the resorts wifi infrastructure is beyond poor. If you are at the beach or at the pool by the beach then it is non existent.
As UK resident then your international roaming as it premium price.
This large bill was put to the test very nicely one day.
For some bizarre reason you are severely punished for not having a credit card. I do not own one and never will!
So I had to put a few hundred pounds on account which would be used for purchases.
I then was asked to put more money on account a few days later. OK, not a problem, plenty of funds available in my back account.
We were then at the pool the next morning and ordered a drink. The lovely waiter served us then I signed the bill. About an hour later he came back very sorry and embarrassed, as he said there was no money on my account. I explained nicely there was and he needs to go away and phone finance. Nothing else heard.
We had food then hours later and we had a repeat of the saga before.
I felt so sorry for the waiting staff, lovely people put in a bad place.
I spent ages on my phone with the useless WIFI trying to gain all the evidence of payment and funds spent. So now I was not happy.
I went to see the duty manager and he, with due respect found my money and said he would sort things out.
We were given a 10% discount on our evening meal for my time, so a little something.
So, a nice hotel, great staff and a lovely location.
BUT... The hotel cannot ever begin to claim it's 5 stars with such a poor WIFI set up. It definitely cannot claim 5 stars with a not fit for purpose financial computer software set up.
This is 2025 and systems are far more advanced now. Definitely good financial software systems available now.
So maybe it is time to sack your IT operations director as it appears he is not up to the job.
We shall not be coming back.
