They entered my email incorrectly

They entered my email incorrectly, so I never knew what was going on until i FINALLY got to speak with someone. I ordered a crib on 7/10/2023 for my daughter. She still hasn't received it.
I was told it would be delivered by 7:00pm tonight, but still not crib. It looks like it is just sitting in California. This is inexcusable. Do NOT use this place. I was charged in July but have not received the crib. Be careful if you use this site!

Refused to take responsibility for anything that went wrong

We spent a couple of grand with the Modern Nursery on nursery furniture. The furniture was fine but the delivery was not great, and the customer services team refused to help. The real problems started, however, when we made a return (which we had to pay to do ourselves—buyer beware).

They claimed not to have received it, until we showed them it *had* been signed for. Then you claimed it had been delivered, but must have been damaged "in transit".  We asked for proof that it was received damaged, and they tried to convince us with images dated two weeks after it was delivered back to the warehouse (during the period of time they claimed they hadn't received anything…). When we pointed this out, all they said is, to quote, "I would like to assure you that our warehouse take the images of your return once it arrives back and the damage would not have been caused by the warehouse team". 

They then refused to put us in contact with someone more senior to address this. (We were told that that someone more senior would at least review the situation and we would be updated, but this never happened.)

And they ignored us our request to advise us of their formal complaint procedure.

Puzzle Playmat that smells petroleum

Puzzle Playmat with a petrol smell that can irritate your throat?! More scary than disappointing I would say. After a month (and after washing it, letting it in a separate room to try and let the smell go away) still smelling of gasoline! If anyone bought the same product and is experiencing the same issue, please come forward as I am 100% sure that the positive reviews about the mat are FAKE.
I am very keen to bring this at the attention of the UK Consumer Advice bureau as this product may be dangerous: advertised as “Formaldehyde free” and “suitable for newborns”…well, smell is so chemical that I cannot spend 2 hours in the room with the mat without opening the windows; don’t even want to think about a little baby playing with it or spending an entire night sleeping with the mat next to the cot.

Fantastic customer service from Amy

Fantastic customer service from Amy. I purchased the wrong bicycle (my fault) and realised after the parcel had shipped. The customer service team assisted me with the return process and was very helpful despite a major delay from Evri in returning the parcel.

Playmat with awful chemicals smell

We bought a puzzle playmat for our baby and it is impossible to use. The chemical smell is so strong that gives you headaches. We have been airing it for 2 weeks and it doesn’t change. Imagine putting you little one on top of that thing. Return process is such a mess that basically we have wasted our money. Don’t buy this for your little one

I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with this product, due to the fact our playmats are non-toxic and formamide-free, this sometimes can leave the product with a strong smell as it is these chemicals which remove the smell. To remove the smell from the product we recommend airing and using a child safe cleaner, such as Milton.
I would also like to apologise that you have found our returns policy difficult, we do have a help desk on our website where you can find all the information you would require to return your playmat and once it arrives back at our warehouse a refund will be issued. Alternatively, you can contact our customer service team who would be more than happy to assist you with your order.

Let down by the courier

Service from The Modern Nursery was first class, however despite receiving notification from the courier that the item I had ordered was out for delivery it never did arrive.
The Modern Nursery was unable to send a replacement because by then the item was out of stock. I received a prompt apology and a refund.

Almost five stars…

Seamless order process, beautiful product. The only downside is the smell (a week in and it’s still lingering) and the slippery surface underneath.

Lovely item ordered

After seeing some horrendous ones I was over the moon to come across a very stylish jigsaw playmat that wasn't crazy expensive and worked well in my home. It was exactly as described and great quality. Item arrived quickly too. Would definitely use this company again.

The product I received was not the…

The product I received was not the product I ordered or the product advertised on the website.
I contacted the Modern Nursery through their live chat feature which kept logging out, making it difficult to communicate the problem and resolve the problem.
Initially, they offered a discount on the product I received or I could send it back to be replaced by the one I ordered. I chose the second option, to then be told that they don’t actually sell the item I ordered and advertised on the website. Their advertising on the website quickly changed.
I have returned the item (currently in the post) and am yet to receive a refund.

I am sorry to hear that you received a different product to what you expected, I have looked into this and I can see the brand have changed the design slightly and we was not informed of this change on our latest delivery from them, however the product remains the same just a slight difference in the colour.
I can see that you have been in communication with our customer service team who have kept you updated regarding this matter and informed you prior to you sending the product back to our warehouse that the remaining stock was also different, this would have allowed you the option to keep the product received or continue with your original decision to return.
As we was not made aware of the difference in design until you received your order and contacted us, our website remained the same and this was edited at the earliest opportunity to avoid further disappointment from other customers.
Once your return arrives back at our warehouse you will be issued with a full refund as explained in the communication from our customer service team.
Once again, I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, thank you for your patience, TMN team.
