Our business began with one simple mission – to spread kindness and make people smile with our letterbox biscuit gifts.
From our bakery in Rutland we make delicious vanilla biscuits and hand stamp each with a special message before gift wrapping them and sending them through the post to brighten someones day.
The Kitsch Hen was set up in 2015 as a way for me to find focus and a sense of purpose while we were embarking on our second cycle of IVF treatment for infertility. Although we decided to gently let go of our dream of having a family in 2019, The Kitsch Hen has become an opportunity for me to nurture in a different way and to find another route to joy and purpose in my life.

I was let down by someone else so contacted the Kitsch Hen last minute for a personalised order for a hen party and the team couldn’t have been more helpful. They fast tracked my order and they arrived today! They look so beautiful and I am sure all the hens will love them. I can’t thank them enough for saving the day.

Personalised biscuits for a school Children Thank You
I ordered some personalised thank you biscuits for a group of children at a school that have been helping us recruit Children’s nurses. I ordered them on Monday to be delivered on the Thursday. They were delivered on time and the.children said they were the best biscuits they had ever had!

Lovely original gift
I bought a box of 12 for my partner's birthday, after hearing about the biscuits on Rutland and Stamford Sound. Biscuits arrived really quickly, within a couple of days. They look fabulous and come in a smart box. The box fitted through our letter box so it was no problem that we were out when they were delivered. The biscuits taste great, and are definitely best eaten fresh. Because they looked so good we saved a couple, but they were not as tasty a couple of weeks later.

We do advise that the biscuits are best enjoyed within a week (although most people say they are devoured long before that)...they would need to be sealed airtight to last longer than that just so that they remain fresh. We hope that helps for any future orders, we would love to bake for you again!
