My son was on a monthly user on Tesco mobile. It was a 10 euro monthly contract for 5gig data. I've got changed for over usage on 2 occasions. My son set a 5Gig limit on the phone, to prevent this, but it still went over. I'd assume like any normal account you pay and you've a limit set and you can't exceed..... But it seems not. One month I was chargef over 20 euro, another month 56 euro for going over by 1.9Gig.
IT TOOK 1.5 HOURS TO GET SUPPORT TO GIVE ME THIS INFORMATION AND TO GET THE UNLOCK CODES FOR THE PHONE.
RUN A MILE, DO NOT GO WITH TESCO MOBILE!
I was going not to even give 1 star...but need to give one to give a review.

Been trying since November to get my ex husband's name off the account as I pay for it myself. Been given the runaround and told to wait 3-5 working days, then another 3-5 working days. My ex husband has also rang them numerous times to take his name off the account. Absolutely disgraceful

Worst mobile company ever.was abroad recently and asked to have my data suspended..was told they don't do that.so I turned off my mobile data...only to get a bill for 64 euro..even though I never turned it on..asked to speak to manager..was told they don't do that..asked if I could dispute it was told that's outside their obligations..this used to be a good company..but I would never deal with them again...no point of contact or no back up when proble
problems arise...KEEP AWAY!!..they also promised me a month's credit if I stayed with them..never applied it..had to phone and chat forever to finally get it applied

it is nearly impossible to top up on line , their security is unbelievably over the top , i am giving them money but they don't trust me , it is laughable

Absolutely scam of a company as well as to whoever 3rd party organisation that fixes their phones I went with a bill play plan and I sent the phone away and it’s still not fixed brand new phone too when they final came back to me they blamed a motherboard issue with tiny little wear and tear scratches on the phone and then proceeded to try and charge me 600 euro for a replacement iPhone even tho the phone was faulty as I went to a Apple certified shop to show them the issue i would 100% not recommend this scam of a company

I purchased a 15 Euro prepaid number and it's not working. Arrived without credit. Customer success is not helping & they provide misleading information on the webpage. Looks intentional.
UPDATE:
After endless talking with the customer service without getting a solution, I just did a charge back for the transaction.
NEVER TESCO MOBILE AGAIN.
Unless you like horrible service.

I went on “Pay as you go” with Tesco mobile. They have taken 30euro out of my bill pay account! It was cancelled… extremely difficult to talk to anyone about this.
Angry customer 👎

The coverage isn't always good in Dublin but other than that I'm happy with Tesco mobile. It's my 2nd stint with them

Just got a bill for 70 euros even though I'm on a twenty euro a month plan. They allow you to go up to 50 euros over your data limit before they block you. They never inform you that you are reaching or have reached your data limit as is standard with all other providers. Steer well clear

I was having trouble with my account. I visited Tesco Polebery Waterford, where I was helped by a very friendly and knowledgeable member of staff by the name of Gavin. He was so patient and polite. I'm delighted with the whole experience. Well done Gavin

Having been a Tesco mobile customer for more than 15 years - we had our ups and downs - but for the last 3 years everything seemed to be OK - my problem started in November 2024 - my plan up to that date - was - a 15 euro automated subscription per month - at the end of the month - that 15 euro was moved to my Main Balance - but - it all changed - a 15 euro subscription in December lasted 2 weeks - I had no idea were it went to - so I tried to get Customers support - but try as I could - I was unable to get a human to speak to - at the last resort - I went on to Chat ( texting ) after speaking to Rashmi for one and a half hours - he was unable to help me - other than to say that my account changed in October 2024 - he gave me a number to call - 1903 - I explained that I did try that number - alongside some more - but was not able to talk to a human - I spent the next hour trying different ways to get someone to listen - out of frustration at the automatic answering machine - I picked the option to check my balance and got through to Sean - he was telling me that I was wrong - and I asked if he wouldn't mind if I talked and explained - but with that - he said that - he couldn't hear me - that I sounded like a automatic call - then he hung up on me - thankfully these calls are all recorded - I was annoyed with the way Sean treated me - so I rang back - but got through to another man - he was able to shed some light on my account - saying that it has been changed and all texts and messages will be charged at full price - there doesn't appear to be any loyalty with Tesco Mobile anymore and certainly no communications - so I have cancelled my automatic subscription - and will use up my Main Balance - and leave Tesco Mobile after 15 + years - there's better services out there - Sky - 48.ie - to name just 2 - so bye bye
Update - following on from my report - as you can see that Tesco mobile has been in contact - it seems that I am right - loyalty is just a byword for Tesco mobile - not only did they change my plan in October - because they were going onto the 4G network ( signal still bad - 4G or not ) but now you will have to pay for all your texts + sms at 20 cents a pop - is there better suppliers out their - is there better Customers support and care - of course there is - Sky mobile using the Vodafone network - 48.ie using the 3 network and probably the cheapest at 12.99 - so do what I am doing - give Tesco mobile the boot 👢

Worst customer care I have ever experienced. Deliberate attempts were made to con money out of me.

Absolute scam. Give you a nice phone to start with and then give you a huge downgrade of a phone after renewing that breaks straight away. STAY AWAY THEY ARE A HUGE SCAM. absolutely shameful that such a company behaves like this.
Edit: now they are trying to steal money from me. They tried to take 208 euro from my account after I told them to get lost. SCAMMERS!

It is near impossible to transfer your number to another provider. All transfers need your Tesco account number. All bills and contracts from Tesco do not include an account number. Please note, this is your customer number, and you have to exclude the first two zeros for it to work. I had 5 days of frustration, multiple phone calls with long delays, which finally ended in contacting Com Reg, who were brilliant. After their advice my number was ported immediately. Buyer beware, in my humble opinion, this provider seems to make leaving them so difficult that they hope you will give up and stay. I would never recommend this service to anyone.

mis-sold, scam, rip-off
purchased sim yesterday for my hot-spot device. paid 15 euro in Tesco extra store.
returned to my apartment, inserted into hot-spot. no data.
contacted customer service. they told me I have to top up first. I say why? I've already paid 15 euro.
so I top up 5 euro. working now.
but after using only 25mb I have only 2.50 euro left. yes readers, I said megabytes. not gigabytes.
that's 10c per meg.
thieving expletives.
avoid like the plague.
edit: I returned to the edenderry store with sim and receipt. initially I was told that customer service desk was closed, but after explaining the situation to the kind lady on the self-checkouts, she sorted the problem by providing the missing top-up voucher.

I've been a Tesco mobile customer for over 5 years and I cant find any fault with them. They have very good coverage. I changed plans last year from a €30e monthly plan to a €20 sim only plan with no issues, very straight forward. I rarely give good reviews but have to give credit where its due.

I'm in the UK lost all mobile calls and data roaming. Have to use WiFi. No good for calls or messages I need to receive.

If I could give Minus 10 I would and I'm not as Tesco Mobile customer!
I recieved a letter yesterday, the one and only letter I have recieved EVER sending me a bill of 980.78 yesterday on a contract that was cancelled 5 years ago, which of course they have no record of.
Is it really policy Tesco Mobile policy to let arrears accumulate for 5 years? Most other services terminate service if a bill goes unpaid. Not Tesco. The paper used for this bill was so cheap and nasty and the print so blurry, I actually phoned tesco mobile immediately after recieving this, googling TM number as I was convinced I was ringing them to be told this was some kind of elaborate scam. Little did I know Tesco Mobile are the scammers!
As far as I can remember the only way to cancel contracts in 2018 was by phoning. So my word against theirs. Buyer beware...its now being investigated after being told initially if I don't pay it will be out of their hands and sent to a debt collectors! The arrogance....I would sooner go to jail than pay these charlatans- as for my weekly spend in Tesco of 120-150 that'll go elsewhere too if not resolved. Unbelievable.

Travelled abroad for the 3rd time in the space of 12 mths i rang them the day before to check the phone would be ok as i had 2 previous issues while abroad ..reassured it would be ..landed in lisbon on my own to no service . Customer care wouldn't work couldn't access emails to obtain the data as to the driver and company that were to collect me . Had to ask a stranger if i could make a call on their phone to ask my daughter in Dublin to try and trouble shoot my service! Never again service and coverage and i was also given incorrect information by a customer care representative the previous day which i wrote down and screen shot.
They are a 3rd company that use 3 ..poor coverage back in Dublin since yesterday evening and phone is still not working for some apps will have to fix when i get home after my shift. Rang tesco customer was greeted by a very condensing girl who spoke over me and then sis a sirect live chat again no joy and they want 445 euros to get out of the contract. Its simply not safe as a woman travelling on your own to not have a phone to depend on to contact people or access your bookings. Shame on you Tesco mobile appalling carryon and take no responsibility . Stick with proper phone companies not supermarkets and i wont be shopping with them anymore either . The loyalty does not match the service they dont provide

Worst app ever. Never works. I hate that I even have to give it one star in order to leave a review their website isn’t much better. I have been trying to top up my phone for almost an hour now. The money has been approved on my credit card but I’m left hanging on their website. The person I’m on “chat” to keeps disappearing. This happened before and they took €15 but didn’t give me any credit for it. It’s ridiculous.
