Very good car rental experience

We had a great experience with Terraecar in Montenegro. The booking process was simple and the price was by far the best I was able to find. They were able to arrange pick up and drop off in the locations of our choice, and didn't take an extortionate amount for a deposit like most car rental companies do.
There was a small issue whereby they did not include the child's car seat we ordered, but this was sorted with minimal fuss or disruption to us.
The car itself was a bit on the older side but it worked and was ok for our needs. And when we dropped it off at the airport there were no attempts to claim damage or anything like that. All good.

AVOID THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!

I’m here to share our recent trip to Montenegro for my partner’s birthday. We wanted to support an independent car rental company, but it turned out to be a huge mistake that we wish we could take back.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with an old, dirty car that had no petrol in it. The rental process felt off from the start, as they requested a cash deposit, which is unusual and raised red flags. My partner paid €85 on his card and handed over €100 in cash, trusting that we’d made a good choice.

As we left the airport, we immediately had to stop for petrol, and soon after, we noticed something was wrong with the car. We shrugged it off, thinking it might just be the unfamiliar roads. However, just 45 minutes into our drive, the tyre blew out on the motorway, leaving us stranded in a foreign country where English was not widely spoken.

We called the rental company for help, but they initially said they could assist us for a fee and then stopped answering our calls altogether. After an hour of frustration, we found a hardware shop where a kind local advised us to drive on the flat tyre for 10 minutes to the nearest tire shop. Luckily, they were able to fix the spare wheel for just €5.

To add insult to injury, during the two days we had the rental, my partner injured himself on the damaged gear stick, which had sharp metal sticking out. He needed to glue his finger when we returned home due to the persistent bleeding. Despite sending pictures and reaching out to the rental company about this issue, we received no response.

When we returned the car, Marko, the person who handed us the vehicle, inspected the car and shockingly claimed he was keeping our deposit because we had “broken” the tire. We were completely confused and frustrated, as we had called the company immediately after leaving the airport to report the issue but were ignored. We even offered to pay for the tire replacement, but Marko dismissed us in front of everyone and told us to “f*** off.” He threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave.

We insisted on speaking to the boss and encouraged him to involve the police, as we had evidence of our side of the story. But once again, he laughed us off, told us to “f*** off,” and drove away, leaving us feeling powerless after being scammed by a company that provided us with a faulty car.

My partner and I have been driving for over 20 years and have rented cars in various places, but this experience has made it clear: stick to reputable companies. We learned our lesson the hard way, and we strongly advise you to avoid this dreadful rental company. Their customer service was appalling, and we do not want anyone else to go through what we did. Please, do your research and choose a reliable option for your travels!

Amazing experience with this company

Amazing experience with this company. We received the car at the airport on time with a nice representative showing us what we needed. We unfortunately had some damage to the car during our rental period of 3 weeks, but with the full insurance option we took there was no issues from Terrae Car and they were very understanding.

Avoid this car rental this company in Montenegro

Avoid this company if you want to use car rental services in Montenegro. They offered full insurance for an extra charge, but in the end they didn't return the deposit and said it was an insurance charge. This even contradicts the information on their website that a deposit must be left even in cases where full insurance is provided.
They did not offer any option to resolve the issue on the spot and did not return the deposit. The car ended up costing almost twice as much so I'd say it's a scam.
The rental car itself was not perfect either, as it was completely scratched on all sides. During the week we spent in Montenegro, it was the only rental car with so many scratches that we saw on the streets.

Hello Matiss! As we spoke upon car drop off - we offered full coverage (we offer it to every customer) and you accepted, at the moment of the pick up the price was 112 euro and we agreed on 110 euro. We wrote in the contract Full coverage and didn't take any deposit because of that. Why would we need deposit when you have maximum protection with no responsability at all? Here is the explanation of Full Coverage visible on the website, anyone can see, so please don't manipulate with informations:

Full coverage
Maximum insurance with no franchise/excess and no responsability at all, no matter how the damage happened. It covers all possible damages. With this option you don't have to pay any deposit and no police report is needed. Not valid for one day rentals.

You were not forced to take the insurance, you accepted the offer and the price and signed the contract. Why did you sign when you saw there is no deposit written in deposit column? Why didn't you clarify the issue immediately? It's very funny to me and I suppose to everyone to expect maximum protection by paying 10 euro (you expected non existing 100 euro deposit to be refunded)

Please share some photos of the car and the contract that you signed too, we like to work WITH FACTS. I can't share your rental contract here but I will do it on our profile page so that people could see you got full coverage and didn't pay any deposit, so surely we couldn't refund something you didn't pay. Also there was no possibility to resolve or negotiate upon car drop off (even when threatening with bad review) when you took advantage on something and can't do negotiations with something written in the contract that's perfectly clear.

As the owner here I ask all future clients to check the contract when signing it and if there are any doubts ask the rental agent or call immediately to the customer service to avoid such situatuions. To complain at the drop off is too late when all insurances were ordered and paid and rental contract ended.

Once again I ask you to share some facts, not thoughts.
