The manager is not your friend here.
If you work as employee here, consider that the management will crash you towards optimistic deadlines.
Otherwise, it is one of those work places where you can stuff your CV quickly, which is good if you are unexperienced.
Suggestions:
- Discuss in detail the requirements before starting working on any task and never be optimistic.
- Do not give estimations for tasks you've never experienced before or can't estimate properly because of unknowns or because of not well defined dependencies. And if the manager is pushing you with friendliness and optimistic vibes, take that as a huge red flag.
