In Denmark, prescription-only medication (including antibiotics) cannot be issued over the phone without an in-person clinical examination.
We have never meet your partner, so ofcourse a in-person meeting is necessary.
This applies regardless of whether the patient is a tourist, as we are required to follow national guidelines and the regulations issued by the Danish health authorities.
For that reason, we asked your partner to attend the clinic for a consultation and assessment before any decision about medication could be made.
When you arrived, your partner was examined thoroughly.
Based on the clinical findings, we informed you that the antibiotic you requested was not medically indicated. Instead, the appropriate treatment was dental care—which you also stated that two previous dentists had advised.
Your partner was assessed by a surgeon affiliated with Rigshospitalet, and a diagnostic X-ray was taken as part of establishing a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. These are standard clinical services and, as with any dental clinic, they are subject to normal fees. While a recent X-ray from another provider can sometimes be helpful, we must ensure that any diagnostic imaging used is suitable and relevant to our clinical assessment and documentation requirements.
We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we must prioritize safe, medically justified treatment and comply with Danish prescribing rules.
