WARNING TO BOSTON PROFESSIONALS: A DECEPTIVE BAIT-AND-SWITCH OPERATION

I am writing this as a final warning to any professional in the Boston area considering Tawkify. After paying for a 6-match package specifically for Boston, this company provided exactly one local introduction before admitting they had zero inventory in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country.

Refuting Tawkify’s Dishonest Response:
In their response to me, Tawkify claims that I "agreed" to include multiple additional metros. This is a manipulative half-truth. I contracted them for Boston; the "agreement" to look elsewhere was only extracted from me after they had already taken my money and then confessed they could not fulfill their primary sales promise. Expanding a search hundreds of miles away is not a "broader pool"—it is a failure to deliver the local service I purchased. Using "availability and alignment" as an excuse for lack of inventory in a major city like Boston is a textbook bait-and-switch.

Failure of Identity and Equity:
Most egregiously, Tawkify has completely ignored my concerns regarding an equitable search for a Gay and Jewish client. They accepted my demographic profile and my premium fee with full knowledge that they lacked the "vast database" required to serve my specific community. By ignoring this point in their public response, they have confirmed that they view identity-based requirements as optional "preferences" rather than core contractual obligations. This is not just poor matchmaking; it is an exclusionary business practice.

Financial Bad Faith:
While their response suggests I contact "Customer Success" to "continue the conversation," this is a hollow PR tactic. I have already reached out, and they have flatly refused to refund the five matches they failed to provide locally. They are currently holding my funds for a service they admitted they cannot perform.

I have formally filed complaints with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Consumer Advocacy Division (under M.G.L. c. 93A) for unfair and deceptive trade practices, as well as the Better Business Bureau. If you are looking for a service that operates with transparency, honors its geographic contracts, and respects your identity, Tawkify is not it. They are a volume-based sales machine, not a boutique matchmaking service. Look elsewhere.

The host did a wonderful job and was extremely pleasant. But most hosts seem to miss the fact that I desire someone that Is average to above average in looks.

I’m a medical doctor and joined with the expectation of receiving high-quality matches, as advertised. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt like a waste of time, energy, and money. The quality of matches was disappointing, and it often seemed that the matchmakers did not truly listen to my preferences or what I was looking for. I would strongly advise others not to pursue this service—it simply isn’t worth the investment.

What a difference than using dating apps like match, hinge, bumble, etc. All I had to do was show up and enjoy my date. Jake at Tawkify was great to work with as well…very responsive to all of my questions and ensuring I’m aware of what to expect.

It's a best case scenario blind date which is phenomenally better than typical internet dating because there is no mutual pre-judging/misjudging between you and your date and there is basically guaranteed high compatibility whether or not that person ends up being the one. It is no wonder how high the rate of successes leading to marriages it has. The blind date aspect of it is totally fun too, and since you and are date are already purposefully chosen for compatibility beyond what a computer can see, it proves to be such an enjoyable date and overall experience through and through.
