WARNING!!

WARNING!!! If you think you've buying fresh fish... think again. This is how it works. The fish is picked up Monday morning from Sydney fish markets. It's then driven to Canberra, Belconnen and Woden Monday afternoon. If it's put straight out, it may be fresh. However, all the other fish on show that is not sold but sits under the ice all day and slowly thawing and if it is not sold is refrozen and kept being put on sale until sold. So thawing, refrozen, thawing, refrozen etc. The next batch of fresh fish arrives Friday afternoon. Again, the same process. So, depending on what day you buy your fish it could be 3, 4 or 5 days old. Thawed, refrozen etc. It is not fresh and you're risking food poisoning. There is only 2 deliveries every week and both in the afternoon. Even those deliveries are not guaranteed to be put on sale upon arrival. They could be Thawed and refrozen. Being under ice, doesn't keep them frozen all day. What's not sold is put in the freezer and placed under lights and ice again. If you've been sick after eating fish from here, you'll know why. If not, it's only a matter of time.
