I paid the deposit in September 2022 for solar panels and battery packs. Until today 15.05.23, they haven`t delivered anything. They employed an answering company, 0800 246 5588, that will not provide any information and have no connection with Tanrec/First4solar. They don`t reply to email. I cannot get my deposit back. They stole my money and they will still your money 100%.

We ordered panels 10 months ago. 5 cancelled installation dates later. They are now ignoring all those who are trying to get their deposits back. Avoid avoid avoid

Tanrec Ltd. Trading as First4Solar

Paid deposit in November 2022, they've missed installation dates with zero notice, no return of phone calls, no returned emails, now using a messaging service which takes messages but never any result. David Hawkins (Director) and Daniel Hawkins (Director) are criminals as they have taken money with no intention of delivering products or services, made commitments with no intention of meeting them and made promises with no intention of fulfilling them. This is the very definition of fraud which is a criminal offense.

Tanrec Ltd trading as First4Solar

I ordered a battery (along with solar panels) from First4Solar back in October. The sales and the deposit taking bit was very efficient. I parted with almost £3.5K. Then things became a little more difficult. I had to push for an install date, and when this was scheduled, it was further into the future than the salesperson had told me it would be likely to be.

But they didn't come on the agreed install date and made no attempt to let me know that they had no intention of coming. I called a few days before install to see whether I needed to do anything.....and that's when I found out that they weren't intending to come. Excuse? We've booked our fitters on a course. What kind of company cancels diary slots for a pre-planned reason but fails to tell its customers?

On complaining, Dan Hawkins who is one of the directors phoned me and promised faithfully that the install would happen at the end of April. He even gave me the name of the scaffolding contractor who would install the scaffolding a day or two in advance. But nothing has happened and when I contacted the scaffolding company directly, the company had nothing booked in for us.

They also said they were extending my HIES deposit protection guarantee but did nothing of the sort.

There is a pattern emerging here. This company does not deliver what it says it will. Looking through the other reviews, others have had similar experiences. They take your money, give you false reassurance but actually do little more for you.

When you have an issue (because they've not done what they said they would), communication becomes rather one-sided. You email and your email is ignored. You email again and send to various people in the company. Again you are ignored. You telephone and much of the time, they farm this out to a third party answering service who takes a message but the company fails to return your call. Dan Hawkins (director) even gave me his mobile, but he too plays the evasive game and doesn't answer or get back to you.

There are now a growing number of reports on this and other review sites and on well known social media sites where customers are now getting together to try to find out what is going on.

Please everybody, do your research.
