It was so refreshing to receive a reminder in the post that my contract needed renewing & to actually dial the number given & get through to a real person. Well done Talk Talk. UPDATE I am now real... See more

This would be zero stars if possible.
TalkTalk offered me a renewal deal, it was almost double the price of alternative broadband providers. Due to this I booked a change, and gave TalkTalk 4 weeks notice about this change. TalkTalk then told me as my change was 2 days before the end of my contract I would owe £10 as a final bill, not a problem as my new provider will cover that.
2 days before my changeover happens TalkTalk sent me a bill for the entirety of next month, charging £60, instead of the £10 I was told. On challenging this I was told that nothing could be done. Despite them know my contract was ending for 4 weeks they’re not capable of producing a correct bill even though they’ve already told me the correct amount. I need to pay the full bill, or I’ll be charged a late payment fee, and my credit report will show a missed payment.
I raised this as a complaint, and was told the exact same thing again. And also told that they’ll refund me anything owed next month instead as if that’s an acceptable resolution. So in effect TalkTalk have told me I am going to lend them £50 for a month, or I will have to deal with the consequences.
Complaints are being made to the Ombudsman, and Ofcom.

I spent over 90 minutes on the phone trying to sort out a TALKTalk TV box problem. They sent me “round the houses” making me repeat myself again and again.I told them that I had no Ethernet connection due to a faulty network connection plug and would like a new one. They sent a new TVbox that was not requested and no new network connection plug!! Only one star because there is no negative star rating.
UPDATE
Had a follow up call yesterday to discuss our problems, explained again that we had intermittent internet contact via the new Talk Talk box and still thought a new receiving network plug was what was needed. I was told that the caller would consult an engineer for advice and get back to us later. No further contact since!!
Not happy.

Internet drops 3 or 4 times a day.
There was no option online to see what upgrades to broadband I could get. There was earlier in the year but the offer was to pay more £26 for a 2 year deal which increased each year for the same speed I had already, laughable. Absolutely ridiculous. Then I was bombarded with calls for the next 2 weeks which I ignored. And to increase my bill from £20.50 to £24.50 is way above the CPI increase I would expect. 0 customer loyalty.

I never thought I would have to leave another negative review, but TalkTalk has once again let me down.
After my previous complaint about being left without internet for several days during my son's A-level exams, I was contacted by TalkTalk. During that call, I was told that my £180 early termination fee would be waived as a gesture of goodwill because of the poor service I had received. Based on that assurance, I believed the matter had been resolved.
Now, a month later, I have received an email demanding payment of £163. This is completely unacceptable and feels very misleading. If your staff make promises to customers, those promises should be honoured.
The original issue was handled just as poorly. Our service stopped working for more tgan a week. Despite repeatedly trying to contact TalkTalk, I received little to no support. An engineer finally visited on 20 June but was unable to fix the problem and said another visit would be needed. However, on 22 June I received a text message saying, "We hope that your recent visit from our engineer has resolved the issue," even though nothing had been fixed and I was still without internet.
The outage happened while my son was sitting his A-level exams. He depended on the internet for revision and coursework, and I had to spend an extra £25 on mobile data so he could continue studying. The unnecessary stress caused during such an important time was completely avoidable.
The lack of communication, inaccurate updates, broken promises, and now the demand for a fee that I was explicitly told had been waived have destroyed my confidence in TalkTalk. Customers deserve honesty, reliable communication, and for commitments made by customer service representatives to be honoured.
I would strongly advise anyone considering TalkTalk to think carefully before signing up.

Keep ending the call when trying to end service with them . Not elderly friendly service. Do not advice for elderly customers who struggle with understanding or anything . Also had the call ending on my nan 3 times today this is ridiculous TalkTalk you have got to sort this out if you want people using your services. If you want people using your services then l best advice to think about how you are dealing with customers and on how rude it is to keep ending the call on people who are trying to sort out service .

Save yourself a whole lot of trouble and avoid this company. Can't provide the broadband service they are contracted to provide, can't fix it and won't cancel it themselves. Won't provide an address for a letter from us cancelling it. They're expecting a 95 year old deaf gentleman to sit and wait for them to answer the phone. Won't deal with me, even though he spoke to them and said i had full authority to manage the account for him. They asked for a password to enable this, which was fine until i asked to cancel. I am disgusted with them.
I'm just adding, after seeing the standard response below, that they want £238 to cancel the contract! On your bike Talk Talk, you're lucky i don't sue you for failing to provide the contracted service for 4 months!

My internet service went down. Took them more than two weeks to fix. They're supposed to give automatic compensation. No, not this company, offerd £10. Now going to small claims court. Terrible company, shouldn't be trading.

Ok but.......
Been a Broadband customer for a few years. Recently switched to Sky for much cheaper price and faster speeds. Talktalk were well priced at the start but things change and as consumers so can we.
Firstly, on starting the switch I was inundated with calls from Talktalk. No doubt from a retentions department as just left a robotic voicemail each time claiming they had to confirm something with me. Literally 40 calls in a few days. Irritating to say the least. If it was urgent and necessary they would write to you.
Finally, today received a returns bag to send my router back. Saving the planet and potentially avoiding a £50 charge. All good but the returns bag is comical. I am saving the planet and they send a bag (and I am not exaggerating) bigger than a builders rubble bag. The router does not fill 5% of the bag. It looks so ridiculous I feel I have to cellotape the bag up to make it look like a parcel and easier for the Post Office to handle. Save the planet but use 95% too much plastic and must cost more.
If this review does more to save the planet than a used router all good.

Talk Talk have suddenly produce a bill when I have left the property of the account in question 2 years ago.
I do not owe this money and did inform them of this however they sent the information to a company called LCS who are now hasseling me. I DO NOT owe them anything. Talk Talk are the worst company ever. I have explained this to no avail. This is beyong ridiculous.

Scam artists! Moved house and they tried charging me a contract breakage fee even though they don’t supply the area I moved to so didn’t have a choice but to cancel, just received a bill as they refunded me but failed to inform me that refund was to cover the breakage fee and now i am expect to pay £128.50 even though this was never explained during the cancellation process. Absolutely disgusted would never recommend talktalk to anyone! Useless company and need to train their staff a bit better. Formal complaint has been made.

Would score 0 if it were possible. The most useless, incompetent company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Customer service dysfunctional. They make it extremely difficult to talk to a real person make you repeat your name, phone number, whether you are the account holder each time you are transferred to another agent, disconnect your call and then don't ring back as scheduled.

I have been with talk talk for 6 years, when leaving them they made it impossible. Can’t cancel online you have to call them off-shore, couldn’t understand workers on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get me to stay even tho I am moving home. Wouldn’t go back to them now for this reason!

A If I could give this company zero stars I would went with a new company on july the 8th and they try charging till the 31st July try phoning them and spoke to someone you could not understand due to his foruin accent then they send a email for £47.18 saying if you dont pay it would effect my credit ratings and they would put it in the hands of their debt collectors what makes it worse their contract ended the 4th of July what a crap company their service is terrible and what a way to treat a pensior to tell them they would put it in the hands of debt collectors

Broadband went down Sunday 19th July 26. Eventually got to speak to someone and a new router sent out and received 22nd July , this has not solved the issue. It is clear an engineer is required as the issue is clearly outside the home. Spend a whole hour messaging a bot and a person which is stressful and achieving nothing. Eventually got cut off. So here I am five days later no Broadband and no hope of it being resolved. Absolutely shocking service, will be switching to Sky later. I have enough on plate with my wife being a cancer patient. Avoid this company at all costs. I certainly won’t be paying any leaving charges, if Talk Talk can’t provide a service then I have no intention of paying.

Really poor service transitioning to a new product - I finished an old broadband and landline product and went for a new broadband fibre only. There should have been No Cancellation fees on the existing contract and they should have stopped the original direct debit payments. They failed on both fronts - cancellation costs charged (despite ringing them twice) and old payments continued. Very annoying and expended hours on the phone sorting. How difficult is this!

We have had no service since 23/6. Tried talking to Talk Talk, they confirm we had no landline but still wanted my 89 year old husband to crawl into the bottom of our airing cupboard to deal with the master socket. When we said no, they suggested when we next have a visitor, they can do it!!! Talk Talk refused to listen and refused to send out an engineer. We have just received a bill for July/August even though they know we have cancelled our contract. This is a sham of a company and no doubt they will threaten debt collectors etc because we will refuse to pay for a service/cancellation fee for something we have not got. Talk Talk do not listen, no matter how many times we have tried to talk to them.
