A really poor experience from start to finish.
A really poor experience from start to finish. The telephone system was the first challenge, despite navigating all the automated options I was unable to speak to a member of staff for several days to enquire about my pending service. No messages were returned. I arrived promptly at 7.45am on the day of the service for a 8am drop off. I wasn’t able to hand over my car or collect my courtesy car until 8.30. I was one one of only three customers in the showroom and the Team were aware in advance I needed a speedy handover due to another commitment but on the day the service team couldn’t have been less interested or enthusiastic if they had tried; several customers were just left waiting around and wondering what was going on. I was charged £25 for a courtesy car which was a new experience, I’ve never had to pay previously and was just told that’s how it is. I received a call at 3.20pm to advise my car was ready for collection. I arrived at 4.20pm but wasn’t able to collect my car until nearly 5pm as the paperwork wasn’t ready. Lots of customers complaining about the lack of service, customer care and general organisation. The smooth and professional operation that BMW was renowned for appears to have long since gone. I raised my issues with the Service Manager who acknowledged the situation and advised they recognised the needed to do better and had received lots of complaints. I have been left really disappointed. Personally i won’t be coming back to this dealership, if they want to retain their remaining customers they need to step things up and do better.
Updated Statement:
I have since spoken with the Service Manager at Sytner Wolverhampton. While the concerns I previously outlined remain genuine and accurately reflect my experience, I feel it is important to acknowledge the constructive and professional manner in which they have sought to address them.
The approach taken towards service recovery has been commendable and appears to demonstrate a sincere reflection on the issues raised, along with a clear willingness to improve and learn from my experience.

Should have gone to Halfords .....................
Jumble sale quality but at Harrods prices.
Booked in my BMW for a scheduled service, recall and M.O.T for Friday 6th 09:00hrs,checked in online the Thursday evening, arrived promptly to find that the actual dealership was under refurbishment and was directed (poor signage) to the adjacent mini dealer.
No meet and great no friendly face just a screen and a key drop box - lovely
Received a call on the afternoon asking if possible could delay the pick up until the Saturday to which I agreed no problem.
Checked the M.O.T status on the Friday evening to find had failed on a front tyre cut to cords and rear brake pads 2mm (advisory) so kinda knew what the call would entail on the Saturday morning, received the call and was informed about the tyre and that it had also failed on the brake pads to which I questioned but was told a definite no it had failed on that item too, decided to ask for both front tyres to be replaced and for the pads to be done to which was told would now be Monday before I could have the work completed so again reluctantly agreed.
In the meantime the vehicle inspection video comes through from the technician “front tyre cut to cords” rear brake pads close to metal but just an advisory so miss-information from the service agent.
Finally came to collect my car thought I’d find it in the car park and do an inspection of the tyres and rear brakes to find that the n/s front wheel had been scored several cm around the wheel and dented on the rim edge! Entered the mini dealership to what can only be likened to Asda’s at 8am on a Black Friday total chaos!
Stressed staff, herded like sheep, one chap having a row with the service agent for all to hear certainly not the calm, premium experience I’ve had previously, finally had my name called out like at the doctors and the service advisor came eagerly with invoice in hand, I decided not to kick of but calmly explained that I’d like to lodge a complaint that my wheel had been damaged to which she came out to the car took some photos, apologised and promised a resolution, looked at the unfathomable invoice, paid and was assured that the service manager was now aware and I would receive a call on the Tuesday to discuss and resolve, surprise surprise - no call.
Who employs technicians that blatantly don’t care for their customers property and decides to say nothing and then a service manager that appears to have gone quiet .....................
hence the tag
Should have gone to Halfords
Half the price too no doubt.

No complaints about the gentleman who I spoke or the service carried out that was excellent. However the customer experience in booking a service and then having to pay £400 for an oil change which should of been done covered under an existing service plan only to find out it had not long expired based on mileage. Then the cheek to ask if I wanted an engine flush for an additional £200+, maybe if the oil was changed sooner than 20k wouldn't need an engine flush. Also I was told the £400 was a discount it would normally be £520 for a oil filter and oil change. Anyway I'm not going to say anymore very frustrating that all the big companies like BMW it just about their numbers and the assumption is the customer doesn't know anything about cars and because he has purchased an expensive car he can pay more for an oil change. I won't be going back to the dealership.

Disappointing, after many years of Sytner custom.
I've used Sytner garages for more than 20 years for both vehicle sales and servicing and my experience has previously been excellent. Unfortunately, my most recent service visits have been really disappointing.
I booked a 'while you wait' appointment, which I was advised would take 2 - 3 hours. My car was eventually ready 5 hours after I had arrived at the dealership (one hour after the time I'd advised I needed to leave by). Any updates on the status of my vehicle were only provided at my instigation. The only person who seemed to be proactively looking after waiting customers was Dawn on reception. (I'd hand her a 5* customer service mark, if this review allowed).
The MINI app was not updated to show the new service/MOT status - I expressed my concern as I'd previously had an issue following a brake service at this location with a warning message that had not been updated during the work - I was assured that the update would be visible within a couple of days. I'm still getting a warning message about the brake fluid service nearly 3 weeks later. The dealership is not just a 'quick' journey away to get this corrected (again) which just adds to my disappointment. It also makes me question whether the brake fluid was actually changed - I know I was charged for it, but the car doesn't think the work was done!
It might be that Sytner do not want to encourage service visits for older MINIs. If so - they are doing a good job to discourage my continued custom.

They forgot to manage my service
Car wash was booked when I dropped off the car, but it was not completed. It seems the advisor forgot to manage my service entirely until I went to the reception at 4:30 pm to follow up. After that, the team rushed to carry out the service (Brake Fluid), and as expected, the car wash was not done. Overall, very disappointing service management.

You had my car all day just to do a diagnostic which told you the same thing i did about the car and then told me I had to rebook the car in to do the work. After I had to take a day off work just to give me my car back and charge me £150 for the diagnostic.

The only good thing is the Receptionists
The 1 star is for the Receptionists - if I could give them 5 stars I would. If I could give the Service department 0 I would. Not sure what is going on but it has gone down hill - 6 hours wait for an MOT and new tyres only for 1 to blow off on the way home. Poor Training, lack of communication skills. Lack of care, Take it or leave it attitude. No Management around. This is the last time I use the Service Department - Too many people not knowing what they are doing - stay away until they get their act together.
