Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 43 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many found the app unreliable, frequently freezing, and struggling with accurate rerouting or providing correct turns. Customers who purchased "lifetime" licenses often reported features stopped working or moved behind new paywalls, also facing difficulties restoring purchases after changing devices. The navigation frequently directed users onto unsuitable or complicated roads, failing to account for vehicle specifications. However, some customers expressed satisfaction with the GPS, appreciating its clear information, good graphics, and effective lane guidance. A few also found the interface appealing and preferred the app over alternatives.

I changed my mind about this app.

At first I found it a bit inaccurate, and sometimes giving me detours that seemed a bit pointless, but I have used it more and more and actually like it. I get all the essential alerts without some of the distracting ones that some of the other apps like Waze gives me. I do think Sygic is worth the money and probably will renew it when the time comes around. It has a nice clean interface, and the screen is logically laid out. Occasionally I get a false reading as far as speed is concerned, but that is rare. It seems stable.

Avoid Sygic satnav at all costs.

I have the ‘premium’ Sygic satnav provided by Pilote on a Pioneer platform in my motorhome. I have correctly entered all the vehicle dimensions but the system ignores this information. This has resulted in our very nearly being stuck on a 90degree turn in the narrow streets of a small French town. In addition, the system comes up with bizarre routings that are obviously indirect and unnecessarily complicated- as reference to a paper map makes clear. The app has directed us on several occasions down weight limited streets, one way streets (the wrong way!) and into a cul de sac closed off by permanent bollards. I now no longer trust the app. I tried to give this feedback directly on the Sygic app - what a surprise - it won’t let me post the review without a ‘nickname’ and every nickname conceivable (Ž, for example) are apparently taken. Scam. Avoid this product at all costs. I will now have to buy a reliable motorhome satnav - eg Avtex. I will also suggest to Pilote that the cease providing the Sygic software.

Poor support

Poor support. Opened a ticket at May 23, 2025 at 10:41 AM and ticket is not solved to this day... And yes, I'm a premium subscriber, but it means nothing as I see..

Avoid like the plague. Very disappointed.

The routing on this system is terrible. It would send you on a huge diversion for no reason if it could. I do not trust it at all. Cheaper isn’t always better. I don’t understand how it cannot do the job it’s supposed to do.

Early happy user now bitterly disappointed

I was an early adopter of Sygic in 2015. Brought several Premium Lifetime licenses. Up until this year I would have given 5 stars. Then Android Auto stopped working. Sygic expect me to upgrade to Premium+ and buy another lifetime licence. I don't need all the + bells and whistles just need the map to display in the car as it did for the past 10 years! From what I read even updating to + this doesn't guarantee a fix.

Avoid at all costs, scamming software

I downloaded the Sygic navigation software from Google Play, tested it and it malfunctioned.
I unsubscribed and requested a refund within hours, Google rejected the refund request. This practice is illegal. We'll see where this goes.
You SCAM me, I don't care about the value, I'm going to make a disgrace of you.

I have no choice other than touse this…

TERRIBLE
I have no choice other than to use this satnav (for trucks ) on a daily basis as the company I work for uses it in their fleet. It is very poor and often gives incorrect guidance including wrong lane guidance at junctions frequently, plots bizarre routes where it guides you to take a turn from the road you are on followed by some more turns just to bring you out onto the road you were on just a bit further down. Or guide you to exit the motorway at the next junction only to then guide you back on to the motorway. Avoid it or regret getting it.

Poor Product - Poor Customer support

Sygic Truck:

Poor Customer support. The product looks promising, I was keen, until I started to try and use it.

They apparently have a list of incompatible Kenwood units and maybe Samsung phones too. They are very imprecise about which ones are incompatible and they don't let you know in advance. I'm not even convinced it's true as it seemed to work for a bit... They spin some line about needing a license from Kenwood to use Android Auto, which is totally fictitious.

When you raise the issue with support you wait for ages, then they try to come across in a rather high handed, patronising and dismissive manner. When you question their nonsense, they close the ticket and go quiet.

Very disappointing.

As a software professional myself, I've managed to glean there is an Android bug related to voice commands on some Samsung phones. Sygic seems unable to disable the voice controls, and for some reason triggers the voice recognition repeatedly whereas Android Auto normally doesn't !

It's almost as if the voice recognition is permanently on, whereas in normal operation with the Kenwood Unit I never see the error. So it seems like Sygic is forcing the head unit to listen permanently. This causes a failure mode, which crashes the application.

The questions are four fold here:

1. Why are they listening any more than normal?
2. Why can't you disable the voice controls?
3. How come I can find this, and they can't?
4. Why don't they list the incompatibilities, unless it is dependent on security settings... which would be concerning.

Disappointing, the product shows a lot of promise and they may be let down by poor customer support. They may only need an additional toggle switch to disable a problematic feature. Support are doing them no favours by failing to handle this more professionally.

Will they ever fix it?

I have paid for a literally undeveloped product... The customer support is non-existent, the app crashes or BUGs frequently. For example in Austria some routes can't be calculated.(using 16 RAM monster tablet with latest processor).App says "missing map / problematic map". The interface is somewhat friendly and I get to use the, despite the problems. I hope they fix it soon.

Worst policy ever

Absolutely appalling! I'm utterly disgusted with Sygic's deceptive business practices. I purchased their so-called "premium" version specifically to use Apple CarPlay, only to discover that it's now completely useless without shelling out even more money for their new "Premium+" subscription. This is nothing short of a bait-and-switch scam.

The company has essentially rendered my previous purchase worthless, forcing loyal customers to pay again for features we already bought. It's outrageous that basic functionality like voice guidance and turn-by-turn navigation is now locked behind yet another paywall.

Sygic's greed knows no bounds as they've switched to a subscription model, leaving longtime users in the lurch. Their disregard for customer loyalty is shocking. To make matters worse, essential CarPlay features like lane guidance and places on route are now exclusive to Premium+.

I was using SYGIC among other GPS aps…

I was using SYGIC among other GPS aps and I have had PREMIUM package (life time) ever since. last thing I noticed that my Sygic as a CarPlay will not give me maps to follow on my navigation in the car. They ask me to subscribe to Premium+ which is yearly subscription.
My message to the mas very simple: Goodbye Sygic I am gone with WAZE.
No one will monopolize me or I hope anyone else. I wish they loose market support as there are so many good GPS Apps out there.

Sygic Simply Scammed Me

I had subscribe to many Sygic lifetime services which I was using while traveling to Europe on Summertimes.I upgraded my iPhone to 16 Pro Max and transferred all apps in November 2024. I was planing a trip to Montreal Canada when I noticed that all lifetime purchases were gone. Tried to contact Sigh tech support giving them a screenshot of my paid services. The told me that those were the available services. They wouldn't even check my account! Dishonest THIEVES!

An under-performing navigation app that asks for more money at every turn

A premium lifetime purchase of Sygic doesn't get you a premium product. Even after purchasing several variations of their "Premium" product, I still have to pay for basic navigation features while those licenses are active.

I would think that upgrading from "Sygic World - Lifetime license" to "Premium World - Lifetime license" and then to "Premium+ Traffic World - Lifetime license" would mean something, but they still ask me to pay for features that should reasonably be included in a navigation app. Each premium lifetime licence just leads to a request for more money for another feature.

Apple and Google now provide much better navigation apps with more up-to-date maps for free. I feel foolish having given Sygic money - though the alternatives were not as good when I purchased it years ago.

I've also had to block their marketing emails and turn off their incessant in-app marketing push notifications. Turning off their marketing spam also appears to turn off their navigation notifications - and remember, this is what you get with their Premium+ Traffic World Lifetime experience!

A Sygic Premium+ Traffic World Lifetime license still requires paying an additional recurring monthly Premium+ fee just to get the latest map updates (which are not up to date anyway). This is neither a premium, nor lifetime product. Just a marketing, money grubbing con.

I highly recommend that you save your money and go with the much better free alternatives.
