Reporting them to the ICO

We are reporting this company to the Information Commission for breaching our family's special category data. This is a company who our Local Authority, Bromley, uses to provide tutors for children who cannot access school. The company provide the tutors, refuse to provide details of who may be accessing your home, what qualifications they have to work with your child, send sensitive, personal data to tutor's personal Gmail accounts without permission or safeguards and instruct their tutors to not contact parents. One of their tutors who had never met my son decided to email a professional unrelated to the company and who he had never met whether he could just leave the library if our child didn't turn up after 45 minutes (without ever contacting parents.) The agency decided a local library was appropriate, despite it being later found later by someone who went to check it as inappropriate (this agency never checked.) They claim to have policies for absence by calling the parents our tutors were instructed not to contact. This agency has already told us that they find a tutor for the child and that is the extent of their remit. The local authority claim they are an agency who will “provide professional oversight and supervision of the curriculum offer.” That tells you about the disconnect between the recruitment agency and the Council. As mentioned, the LA has chosen to work with this company to teach vulnerable children out of school. When questioned, the company said the teachers have QTS and would just ask the child what he wants to do in a lesson. No oversight and no curriculum it seems.
