I will just add to the mounting bad reviews of this company. A charge of 40 CHF is applied for sending an automated sms reminder if the bill is overdue, even just by 2 days. Very excessive.

The whole process of cancelling a contract is a pain. I tried calling the phone number and the support is only in german, which is unacceptable for Switzerland. EDIT: the answer from Sunrise below... See more

Hidden fees and difficult to cancel

Charged 150 CHF at the end of the contract for not returning the router, even though this wasn't mentioned on the phone when calling to cancel. Generally very high prices after the initial offer and difficult to get in touch to cancel the contract. Hung up on several times and disconnected from the online chat.

hidden fees everywhere

I used to have a SIM card from Sunrise because of a very tempting promotion, and I stayed with them for two years. Over time, I realised they added many extra fees and charges. They are allowed to do this because it’s buried in their contract, but most people don’t read every detail, especially when the company is well-known.

Their policies also feel outdated. They don’t notify you when your costs suddenly increase, even though with today’s technology it would be easy. You also cannot cancel by email when you are abroad, and they insist that you call them, which creates more complications. Overall, it feels like they use many small tricks to make extra money, especially around promotions.

They convinced me to extend my contract for another two years by keeping my promotion, and I regret accepting it. I have now switched to another company, and I am much happier with their prices and their clear, transparent policies.

I wish no stars were an option

I wish no stars were an option. We've dealt with bad connections with both mobile and internet for years. Moving apartments was one of the worst experiences to go through with them... on top of that our account is in a limbo where we have tried to change the account owner and information several times over and its never gone through or worked.

I'm now stuck trying to cancel the service for an account named after someone who has had their name changed, and they absolutely refuse to work for me even though my name is also on the account.

So now I'm going to have to give them more money for absolute shit service, until I can somehow get the account information to actually go through and change, yippie.

I signed a contract with them for…

I signed a contract with them for Internet only. I made it very clear, explicitly, that I only wanted internet service.
They didn’t show up on the agreed date when the installation was supposed to happen.

I waited for about a month. Then they finally came, but they hadn’t sent the modem, so they couldn’t install the internet. They also informed me that if they had to come again, it would cost 100 francs. In the end, I installed it myself.

Later, when I checked my contract in the app, I discovered that the package also included phone and TV services — which I specifically did NOT ask for. I went to their office to ask what this was about. They told me the contract was already signed and they couldn’t do anything. Brilliant.
It’s not possible to contact them by email, and they can’t be reached through any channel.

Terrible

Terrible. Here are the two points of my review:

1. The network reception is awful, constantly dropping in and out. I called customer service and they told me it’s because my phone is too old. The phone is only three and a half years old.

2. I brought a friend—both mobile and home internet. I was supposed to receive 70 + 150 CHF credited to my bank account. They only credited the 70 CHF, but not the 150 CHF. After three calls and promises that they would fix it, obviously nothing happened. It’s now been over three months, and I’m about to make a fourth call. Terrible. I’m switching provider.

We cannot get out of the contract

We were tricked into making a business contract when we didn‘t really want that but the sales agent at the time told us we had much more benefits and the same cancellation conditions. Now that we left the country we were told that we can‘t cancel and need to pay a 300.- fine. Costumer service has been horrendous. They never get back to emails and sometimes even disconnected the call when we tried to resolve it. We have spent hours and a lot of money in international calls to try to solve the situation but nothing works. We are tempted to involve a lawyer with this horrible service and all the costs that they are causing us. We can‘t even use their service when in another country so it makes no sense that we keep paying for the contract. Any other company let‘s you get out off a contract when you deregister in a country. Worst experience ever!!!

Price. Price-price-price.

I've been with Sunrise for many years now. I had big issues with the disastrous customer service from their child company Yallo, but Sunrise themselves have been okay.

My only issue is with Sunrise's pricing.

Salt, who we all hate here in Switzerland (usually for a very good reason), has one standard pricing. One. For everyone. Always.

Sunrise seems to have a different pricing model depending on the time of month and weather.

So, if you're considering going for a Sunrise abo, a few tips:

1. It's currently November 2025. For Sunrise, I pay 30.49 CHF for Up Mobile L (unlimited mobile data throughout CH & Europe) and 41.70 CHF for Up Home L (phone + 2.5Gb internet + TV). Now go and compare those figures to the Abos on the Sunrise website.

2. If you're interested in a Sunrise abo, and it says you'll get a "free" Samsung TV or gift... go and bang your head against a wall, and compare their Abo prices to what I'm paying.

3. Black Friday is on 26/11/25. They always do decent offers, and deliberately bump up their regular Abo prices beforehand, so they can proudly announce they're giving 70-80% off for Black Friday. It's the oldest con in the book.

4. If you DO want a Sunrise abo, or if your existing Abo is about to expire, DON'T use their website.. telephone them. Ring them, and tell them you're off to Salt, and will be paying Salt's regular prices of 24.99 CHF for unlimited CH & EU mobile data, and 39.95 CHF for superfast Fibre-Internet+TV+phone. Watch them as they miraculously find an offer, to make sure they don't lose you as a customer... usually with some BS about them"needing to get it approved by a manager though".

5. Oh, and for the love of God, don't ever sign up to buy a "free" phone from Sunrise, linked to a 24-month Mobile Ago. Right now, they're offering a Galaxy S25 Ultra for free ! Free, damn it !! Oh, but their starting abo (including unlimited CH & EU data) is 77.95 CHF a month, for a minimum of 24 months. So, compared to my Sunrise mobile abo, you'll be paying 1,139 CHF more than me over those 2 years. That.... that doesn't sound very "free", for a phone that costs 854 CHF from digitec, does it ?

6. If you work for UBS, checkout the Sunrise offers on the UBS intranet. For mobile abos, they're amazing, but for home internet, meh... they're pretty rubbish.

Please... Sunrise... one price.
Give us one, applicable-for-all-customers, price.

Price aside, I'm perfectly happy with my Sunrise service. The 5G Mobile really isn't brilliant, particularly around Swiss Bahnhofs, but the rest is absolutely fine.

Ah, Martin Lewis would be proud of me.

Clients are suffering from Sunrise incompetence

This review is about my most recent experience, but I've had plenty of bad ones over the years too. My modem broke, so they sent me a new one after I called them. But after trying to get it to work for hours, I ended up calling again and lo and behold, they forgot to register the new modem on their end. And because it was "Friday Afternoom(TM)", they werent doing anything about it over the entire weekend. Clients must pay for mistakes it seems. Inconpetence and lack of accountability. A joke of a service sector company. I also work in that sector and we are not behaving like this - well, I wouldnt, but I need internet to work.

I travel using Helpx.net. A Swiss host stole my LIFE i.e my phone!!

I travel using Helpx.net. (I was stalked by first Helpx host Switzerland. He has hidden recording devices in Airbnb!) Next,Swiss Helpx host stole both my Scottish and Irish sims, on Samsung Galaxy A26 phone). I could not even book a Flixbus! Without a phone, I YOU cannot access email accounts etc on any alternative devices, if you used your phone numbers as security! Enes and his colleague, in SUNRISE Solothun, calmly assisted in setting me up with a Swiss phone contact. Eyes explained that perhaps I can access stolen SIMS data via ESIM? I had not stored 11 years of
legal info (Data) onto My Cloud- a universal platform. DANKE SUNRISE SOLOTHUN. Enes went far far far FAR beyond his duty as a phone sales human. Again Danke. PS SUNRISE SWITZERLAND CAN YOUR STAFF EDUCATE HOW TO OUTWIT STALKERS VIA PHONE TECHNOLOGY?

Awful client service

They attempted to extend my contract to two years without my consent, even though my signed contract was for one year. They even charged me after telling me that the termination was in order. I had to call at least 5 times to get it fixed, repeating each time the same stuff and they never did what they said they would do. Avoid this company if you want to keep your inner peace

Terrible service, ridiculous overcharges, stupid and uselessly app. Worst experience ever with telec. Company. They are really the worst ever. They have made me pay in total the last two months almost 800chf for two simple lines. Never take a line with this people, promising always lot of things and doing nothing, just charging you and modifying contracts with policies you never accepted. Just unbelievable.

Called to change my internet from Adsl to fiber as house was connected finally to fiber, was passed around several times, had to call 3 times and identify, agent was making jokes to colleages for minutes, then could not remember who I was and why I called. I asked him whether he,s dumb. then I said goodbye. Worst call center ever. incredible that is Switzerland. Beyond pathetic, worst exp ever.

Ridiculous

They just changed my router, and I’ve never seen firmware with so few options. I couldn’t set it to IPv4, DMZ and port forwarding are completely absent, and when I called them (twice!), the operators didn’t even know what a DMZ is. I suppose they do this to push customers into paying for their expensive business subscription.
Ridiculous company — stay away.

Edit:
Changed the rating from 1 to 2, since on the third attempt, after some digging in their community forum (which, by the way, didn’t let me post a question because I never received the confirmation email), I discovered that I had to request the change from IPv6 to IPv4. Still, the misleading information from the first two employees is worth pointing out.

Worst experience with a telecom company…

Worst experience with a telecom company ever!!!
I was using GAW for broadband before and my wife had a pay as you go from Swisscom. I wanted to transfer both to sunrise. Due to the notice period I asked them to start my contract 3x months later. However, all of sudden they decided a month later, as result to call after call until to postpone them as initially requested. After all they transfer my wife number to sunrise and finally I received my first bill, 2000 francs! They said that they paid the rest of the contract from my wife mobile phone!!!!!! 🙄
Anyway, 1,5 years later I moved house and they charged me 200 CHF for the broadband installation. Every year, every month I had to call them about something… those guys rely that people forget and instead of calling you or email you about the expiration date of your contract, they continue and they charge you full prices (that is a horrible swiss marketing). I call them back and I asked them to extend the contracts with the old prices, but I wanted to extended more than a year so, I can deal with Black Friday offers.
Finally, I called them now to see what options do I have and the guy extended the contracts by 13 months but the price will change earlier and I am obliged to pay full amount until my contract ends. Additionally, I renew my broadband subscription and they added for “free” the TV, which is crap. The “free” option is just a TV box with the basic of the basic and for the rest you have to pay hefty amounts to watch them. Also, they don’t give a f if you stay with them or not!!!!
BTW their referral program it’s a scam! I am waiting for 5 months still to get my money and after 10 phone calls… honestly look other options and don’t waste your time with their services.

Worst mobile connection ever

Went backa to Sunrise twice on mobile subscription promotion, already promised myself the first time I wouldn't go back due to connectivity issues, but now I'll definitely never be back. Worst mobile connection in Switzerland, I've had them all and I can guarantee it's the absolute wors. Never ever again.
