Sun International reps at Hurghada …

Sun International reps at Hurghada and on the Royal Adventurer were worse than useless (visited Egypt beginning of March). Saleh,no surname given, on the boat was absent for 3 days of the 5 and we were unable to communicate with him as he did not leave a number.
We only saw Mohannad Waheed at Hurghada once, he was always elsewhere. His substitute, no name, called and booked us a tour, but was unwilling to organise our return to the airport. This was eventually arranged by Hotel staff.

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience. Airport transfer, which was fully paid, was not delivered as agreed. We were forced to adjust our plans and lost two days of our trip. No effective support or solution was offered. The contracted transfer service was not fulfilled according to the agreement. This resulted in financial loss and significant inconvenience. Despite repeated communication, no satisfactory resolution has been provided.

Ahmed Tour guide terrible.

Booked a trip to Cairo with Sun international rep. £100 each . Guaranteed no other activities except the pyramids, sphinx and the new museum with lunch included. Picked up at 1am for 6hr journey. 28 on the coach . Then the guide Ahmed started! The PA system was terrible. Couldn’t understand a word he said but he said it very loudly. As we approached Cairo I expected to be given plenty of information about Cairo, its history, etc but nothing! He was more interested in selling stuff that no doubt he would get a share of. We were then told we were going on a boat on the Nile! Not on our itinerary! We got to the pyramids and were told we had 20 minutes to see this world heritage site. We asked if we could go in and he said it was a stupidly idea as there was nothing in it, boring. We went in anyway. We were then ushered to the small pyramid where we were told about “stones” not the ones the pyramids were constructed with but the stones that the tat was made of on his friends stall. We were then taken to the sphinx were we had 15 minutes! Then it was off to the new museum. All of us were looking forward to this as it has only newly opened with spectacular exhibits. However when we got there he hadn’t booked our tickets and had to get someone to book them for him. This took 1 hr. We were then told we only had 1hr & 30 mins to look around. And he was going to be our guide here also. Everyone decided to do their own thing now as we’d had enough of his incompetence. We were ushered onto the bus again and taken to a papyrus factory! Not on the itinerary. Then finally lunch at 3.30pm. 14 hrs after being picked up at 1am. He told us this was his favourite place in Cairo. We had 30mins to bolt down our food! Back on the coach at 4pm we thought we were heading back to Hurghada but no. He was still selling stuff and then we went to a perfume factory! Not on the itinerary. Practically everyone stayed on the coach. We finally left Cairo at 4.45pm for the 6 hr return trip. The coach drivers were excellent, navigating the busy roads in Cairo . Ahmend then dished out feedback forms to which we dutifully and honestly filled in. After reading them he challenged several of us on our thoughts & feedback. He stomped up & down the bus getting very angry blaming the company on the tight schedule. At no time did he take responsibility for his lack of knowledge or expertise. With 28 people on the bus that’s £2,800. He then came on the PA system approaching hurghada and said that tips were customary . We gave the drivers a hefty tip as they were marvellous. We have been on many trips to Egypt and have booked trips to Cairo & Luxor where we had excellent guides who gave us so much information and wonderful experiences. This was certainly not one of them. I felt sorry for anyone that had not been before and were reliant on us and other people to tell them about the wonders of the pyramids and the sphinx and stories of Cairo itself. A trip we were looking forward to that turned out to be the worst we have ever done. Please do not inflict this guide on anyone else as their view of a wonderful city will be forever marred.

The absolute worst service I have…

The absolute worst service I have encountered from and to the airport. On arrival, they had no one with a sign. I had to go round the airport looking for the sun international team. Had to even start asking every person waiting at the entrance if they operated with sun international. Finally found them and they pointed me to a drive who would drop me. Now, the driver made us wait another 15 mins because his boot of the car wasn’t opening. We begged him to just put our suitcase in the car; he refused. Mind you, it was just 1 suitcase. After 15 mins of back and forth, he later agreed. We got to the hotel at 11pm after landing at 9:35pm because we could not find Sun International team and the driver was being difficult to deal with.

Now, on leaving to the airport, we had received an email that our return flights were delayed by an hour. I immediately called Sun International using the hotel line/phone and they asked for my details and confirmed the driver will come at 8pm instead of the initial 7pm. Now, at 6pm ish, I get a message that the driver was at reception already. I explained that it shouldn’t be as we had rescheduled due to delays. Apparently, he wasn’t informed. Ended up having to use a personal phone by the hotel receptionist and called again; they claimed I don’t called them and there was nothing they could do. I was livid. Had to spend another £20 to get to the airport using a local taxi.

Formal Complaint – Booking Issue and Unacceptable Treatment (Sierra / Savoy Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh)

Dear Sir or Madam,

We are writing for the booking reference number

LOV12611830U

to formally complain about the extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience we have had with our holiday booking.

On 14 December 2025, we purchased a holiday package to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, staying at Sierra Hotel, with check-out on 20 December 2025. This is our only annual holiday, and unfortunately, the first two days were completely wasted trying to resolve issues that were not caused by us.

When we arrived at Sierra Hotel on 14 December, after travelling for approximately 15 hours, we were informed that our reservation could not be found in their system. Despite clearly and repeatedly explaining that our booking was for Sierra Hotel, we were told that our reservation was instead at their sister hotel, Savoy Hotel. After a long wait, we were asked to take a shuttle transfer to Savoy. Although we were exhausted, we remained patient and cooperative.

We stayed one night at Savoy Hotel. The following day, after breakfast and a short walk, we returned to the resort and went to Islands Restaurant for lunch. At that point, we were treated very rudely and told that our card was not working. We were asked whether we had been transferred from Sierra. When we tried to calmly explain the situation, we were spoken to disrespectfully and told to “go to the lobby and sort it out.”

At the lobby, we were shocked to be informed that:

Our check-out had already been processed in the system
If we wished to stay at Savoy, we would need to pay USD 90 per person per night
We were required to change hotels immediately

This situation is completely unacceptable. When we arrived on the first night and explained everything in detail, we were told that our booking was at Savoy. That night was extremely stressful and ruined by uncertainty. Now, once again, we were embarrassed in public, told our card did not work, and informed that we must leave the hotel.

Instead of resting and enjoying our holiday, we have been forced to argue, relocate, and repeatedly explain ourselves. We came here for peace, rest, and quality time together, and instead we are exhausted, frustrated, and deeply disappointed before our holiday has even begun.

Why should we spend the first 2 days of a 5-day holiday resolving accommodation issues?

This situation has caused us significant emotional distress and has completely disrupted our vacation.

We therefore formally request:

Full payment of our hotel accommodation as originally booked
Appropriate compensation for the distress, wasted time, and unacceptable treatment we have experienced.

We came back to the Sierra Hotel and they tried to give us 3 single bed bedroom although we booked double balcony/terrace view room. We chose you because we trusted to you and because of your experienced services and came to Sharm el Sheikh for make a comfortoble holiday. But It was totally dissapointing. Never chose any service from you and never recommend you again!

We expect this matter to be taken seriously and resolved urgently.

Yours sincerely,

Ulvi BAYSAL

Mohanned - (or NOhanned) the missing tour guide!

Just returned from Hurghada and still waiting to see any sign of the Sun International Rep....
Mohanned didn't show up for his own introductory meeting (or any others) and didn't supply the hotel with airport return pick up details and never answered calls to the the number he had posted. We had to book a day trip to Cairo with another company's tour guide.
We renamed him NOhanned.

I’ve never felt so let down by both an…

I’ve never felt so let down by both an airline and a tour company. Wizz Air charged me €135 just because I forgot to check in online. I get that rules are rules, but that kind of charge is ridiculous especially when our flight ended up leaving about 50 minutes late with no apology or compensation. It just feels unfair that passengers are punished for small mistakes, but when the airline causes delays, it’s brushed off.

Then came the Sun Holidays part of the trip, which wasn’t any better. I was offered a private trip to Cairo for £470 to visit the new museum and the pyramids, which was way too expensive, so I chose the £200 group option for the old museum instead. The whole thing was so poorly organised. It took around eight hours to get there because the driver kept stopping without saying anything. Neither he nor his colleague made any effort to communicate or make us feel comfortable, and when my toddler was getting off the bus, they didn’t even try to help.

The tour guide could barely speak clear English, so we struggled to understand most of what he said. Then on the return airport transfer to Luton, the driver didn’t help with the bags at all, and it was pouring rain.

Overall, the whole experience just felt cold and unwelcoming. I expected a friendly, family-oriented trip but instead it felt like they couldn’t care less. I wouldn’t recommend travelling with Wizz Air or booking through Sun Holidays again unless they seriously improve how they treat people.

SNORKELLING & WHITE ISLAND

Do not use this company. Booked snorkelling trip to Ras Mohammed National Park and White Island. Assured that it was a VIP trip with up to 20 people, untrue, there was 36. Pick up 8.10 they arrived 9.15. Told that boat had drinks and food, no snacks available, and cola poured out of a 2 litre bottle into flimsy plastic cups. Tea and coffee using single cup packets and hot water from a pump action thermos ! No milk available.
We sailed to the first reef area, and moored up along 30 to 40 other boats. Then we had to wait for the people doing a dive experience with aqua lungs to be briefed, and kitted up.
Only then could we snorkel. After half an hour called in, we are now off to another coral reef ! 20 minutes later arrive at next site and are among this huge flotilla again. As we had had breakfast at 7.30 and it was now 2.25 we were all starving, and did not want to snorkel until we’d had food. Next stop White Island.
What an absolute waste of time and energy, swimming and wading onto a small strip of sand !
Do not waste your money, take Immodium because three of us needed to take it the next day, ( water for hot drinks not boiled ??)
Hotel house reefs offer much better viewing of anything under the water. Spare yourself the hours of getting there, and having to wait while 13 people who had paid for dive school, no snacks, questionable drinks. I doubt the crew were PADI trained !!
These boats should be for either snorkelers or divers, not both. Left a lot to be desired, waste of a day, and waste of money, you have been warned !

Awful company

Awful company, they were our airport transfer from our package holiday, also booked 2 trips from the Sun international rep at the hotel and both were not good, the first was a swim with dolphins, we were told that we would all be together for the experience as a family but on arrival this was not the case and we were split up and put with random strangers, the second was a trip to Bianca island, whilst the island its self was lovely the organisation on the trip was terrible, when getting back on the boat after the island visit they expected everyone to jump down approximately 5 feet onto the boat, most people weren't prepared to do this including us, we were then put onto another boat that was very very overcrowded, dirty and smelly, we complained during the return trip and was promised the video and photos of the day for free as compensation, after 2 weeks of chasing these we only received photos of the watersports section that we weren't in, to top it off our return transfer back to the airport at the end of our holiday was late. My advice is to avoid this company at all costs.

Tours

On arrival to our hotel, the representative of the sun international, Alladin (do not trust this guy)informed that he only one we should book our trips with (at inflated prices), which was a lie as there was options available to book through hotel or independent tourist company at much better prices for exactly same tours(found out this later through friends). When we told him that we wanted to cancel booked trip he started getting upset, and just walked out on us. Additionally, when we checked our bank card transaction we realised that he charged us more than agreed price. Tried to complain but he said that it was the bank who charged extra, which we know is not true, as we were using revolut, which does not charge for transactions.

Our Sun international rep was really…

Our Sun international rep was really nice and welcoming however, we believe to have been miss lead.
He told us to be careful who to book with and said it would be safer to book with himself rather than doing this privately, we later found out through some friends at the hotel that we could of book all the activities through the hotel at a cheaper rate and also choose to be on an English group only (This helps for translation)
Our friend turn out to do the same activities for a cheap price and had a better experience.

Good Evening

Good Evening
Can I just say how very grateful i was of the help of Bibo, when i arrived at the Steinberger Hotel in Sharm Sheik. i am a female travelling on my own, although met up with some family members. i was located to the far of the hotel, miles away from them and obviously concerned at having to get back to my room late at night.
Bibo, sorted out my issues with compassion and consideration and got me a room exchange where i could be closer to my relatives. The whole service from Sun International has been outstanding and i truly believe i have been dealt with, with great understanding and compassion
i would recommend this company and in particular Bibo, who went above and beyond and for this i am forever grateful.
kind Regards
Angela

We stayed in hurghada and done 3 trips…

We stayed in hurghada and done 3 trips with sun international.
Cairo trip is away to long affordable prices for the all trip but to many unnecessary stops which we wasn’t told about it careful cuz they will take to some shops for you to buy papiros perfumes and other stuff which made the trip a lot longer, took us to a ride in a boat in Nile with an extra cost, camel rides or horses for extra cost, tourists guide trying to sell us gold and silver bracelets or necklaces in the bus, we went to the museum really a waste of time because we didn’t get to see not even half of the museum.
Safari trip absolutely lovely everything bang on.
As well of orange bay absolutely great as well, snorkelling 2 times really really good the staff they help you with everything great team, crazy sofa and banana as well they were great, be aware of taking extra cash as the prices are expensive in the island for drinks and snack or even food.
Safari and orange bay we were able to get photo with safari been 17$ and orange bay $50.
All of the trips we done they offered some buffet style food, either lunch or dinner

Egypt “Super Safari” Trip

While staying in Egypt - sharm el sheikh we booked a trip with sun international.
The trip was “Super Safari”.
Apparently it was suitable for children - my son is 3 years old, and 11.
We enjoyed most of the trip, but I have to say it was sad to see the set up the locals had within the “safari” park where our trip was. Incredibly poor, begging people and kids. Heartbreaking actually. So this was sad to see if anything.
But what has made me write this review is when we were on the buggy on the sand and we passed what I can only describe is a camel graveyard! Bones, shells of camels and newly rotting camels. This was incredibly heartbreaking for my sons to see and then I have to try explain this. So I recommend not going on this trip with kids.

We booked a boat trip with Sun…

We booked a boat trip with Sun International on The Black Pearl boat for snorkeling and scuba diving.
We boarded the boat and were given all the training for scuba diving.
After a considerable wait we were finally given the wet suits and all the scuba diving equipment to put on.
Ready and waiting the captain of the ship and the divers had a big argument. We were not informed as the the exact reason for the disagreement but were told by the Sun International rep, Michael that the scuba diving was cancelled! And now we are not sure if the snorkeling will also take place as the professional divers were in disagreement with the Captain!
A large group of Russian tourists had completed their dives and only us and
a few French tourists were now cancelled for diving!
The rest of the day was shambolic with poor communication and little help from the Sun International rep!
Next day on complaining to the Rep we were made to feel we were now inconveniencing them until he finally saw how upset he made me. I finally got an apology and a mere £40 refund and compensation.
All in all really poor service and a waste of a day of our holiday.

Lovely Experience

Ibrahim the holiday rep made our stay worthwhile with helping to guide us on the best excursions for our interests. We had a few issues on some excursions which were no fault of the company or anyone for that matter, just small issues like misplacing our souvenir that we had bought however once we made our tour guide Mustafa and Ibrahim the rep aware of this they did everything they could to return it to us and got it promptly sent to the front desk of our hotel the following morning. I cant thank them enough for their service and making our holiday fun :) With special thanks to Ibrahim, Mustafa and Yasmin for their knowledge of the area and the history as well as being amazing guides to have with you which is what you want when you are with them for several hours if not the whole day haha!
