Strato service simply dreadful 20yr+ customer

I have been a happy Strato customer for over 20 years, but recently have been plagued with my website being banned by many other ISPs, and my mails prevented from being sent to certain domains. The issue is that Strato appear on some kind of blacklist they tell me and their ONLY solution to EVERY complain is to suggest I update the TXT in the DNS, or like today, I create a DKIM record. I have no idea what these are and my feeble attempts to generate these things fail too. They seem incapable of doing these things for me. God knows what I am actually expecting a technical service desk to actually do? Clearly sorting a problem is now my fault. They don't even explain how to do these things. We complain about the NHS, but they don't expect you to do surgery on yourself by googling what medical terms mean? I would urge anyone considering moving to them to reconsider - they will leave you in the lurch, high and dry. I'm trying to retire, and cannot send a simple email to my pension company. I've asked about leaving, but they don't even make that simple - moving email and domains to somebody else requires action by Strato, and that seems to be sidestepped. A once great company, now simply dreadful. I rarely leave bad reviews, but their reps "I hope this helps you further" indicates they don't care a damn. They tell me to create a DKIM record but don't even tell you how to do it or what you should type in. Absolute pits!

Website not working

I cannot pay my invoice because the website won't allow me to. I have tried countless times to contact Strato using their online form, but there is always an error message when I send it. Strato in Germany via messenger can't help. There is no phone number, no email address...........I'm at my wit's end.

Very poor customer service

Every year, Strato sends me an invoice, stating that the amount will be taken from my saved credit card automatically, and not to transfer the amount. However this never happens, there is no way to pay online, you have to pay by bank transfer. Also, there is NO telephone number, NO chat support to actually talk to someone. Very poor customer service!!

don't say no one told you

These sons of a b.... have stolen all the content of my VPS. They didn't give me the possibility to have a backup because according to them they can't make backups. This is the e-mail the bast*rds sent me: "We currently do not have the ability to automatically migrate VPS and Strato Servers.

Alternatively, you can activate the server type of your choice so that, once set up, you can migrate the contents and configurations from the source server.

Please note that the migration and reconfiguration of the new server is managed by the user, who must perform this procedure manually.

If you later wish to cancel the source server, you can do so in a few easy clicks from your client area:"

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST.

You are going to have problems with these scammers, if you read this review and still want to waste your money go ahead, but don't say no one told you, don't make excuses and complain when you have problems, I am warning you, me and 200 other users terribly affected, good luck

After many years I give up over their poor customer service

I have been with Strato for over 10 years. More recently it has become a major problem trying to sort out our change of name. As the company grew we became VAT registered and a limiterd company. Several times we have followed instructions to fax a form to them. They never acted on the form. Now I have tried following their change of details proceedure again. It involves emailing a form to them, but no where does it give their email address. I can no longer pay invoices as the business name no longer matches my bank account. I have given up with them which is a shame as in the early days I was pleased with their product.

Help needed urgently.

Help needed urgently.
Customer service is appalling. I have a UK account (61190792) that I use for all of my email correspondence. I have been told by STRATO that my account will be closed tomorrow (Aug 1). I have tried every possible means to contact STRATO to pay to keep my account open. I have tried every link on the website, including the one to withdraw the cancellation, and those listed in the replies to previous reviewers above to no avail. Any email I send bounces back. There are no phone numbers. When I follow website links they are marked in red and won’t allow me to proceed. My partner and I use this account for everything and will be seriously inconvenienced if this goes ahead.

My account has been blocked even though…

My account has been blocked even though all invoices have been paid.
The customer service area shows the invoice is paid and yet today my webshop and all emails have been blocked. With an email explaining the reason is due to an unpaid invoice.
What is happening? This is very unprofessional!
From reading Truspilot this is an issue you have been made aware of for a number of weeks but no solutions or personal email correspondence has been forthcoming.

I can't reply to Strato so I am editing my review.
Strato admitted there is a problem for them to take payment and currently all invoices need to be paid via BACS.
This is quite alarming that a company cannot take Debit/credit card payments.
What is happening?

Fine until you try to leave

I have used strato for several years for emails however it seems impossible to cancel an account with them. I cancelled, then they asked for money for another year, they threatened debt collectors so I paid. Then they told me I had to send them an email from the account I had cancelled in order to confirm my identity to cancel the account. This is impossible to do, so can they keep asking for money every year?
